I'm trying to implement server Push technology in Grails application using Comet by working out few simple examples, but I'm struggling to make it really work. I've been trying out 2 examples from the below 2 links and it is not working. Not working in the sense, am not able to see the expected result, though I don't get any errors/exceptions.
Using Cometd 2.x with Grails
Grails-based Comet (Bayeux Protocol)
Any help in the form of working example, pointers, links, suggestions, etc. are really appreciated.
NOTE: As you can see from above posts, the article is 2-3 years old. Currently, I'm running Grails v2.1.0 and cometd plugin is v0.2.2. IDE is NetBeans v7.2.
I managed to find a solution for server push technology using Grails Events Push Plugin, though, instead of Cometd / Bayeux.
Following links were helpful in implementing server push technology:

I'm attempting to get Recaptcha for .NET working with ASP.NET MVC 4.0 on an https site that is using SSL. I've been reading up on it and the problem seems prolific, but I'm having a hard time finding a solution.
I've seen this related topic here Stackoverflow Question and it did not solve the problem. I am following the documentation here : RecaptchaNET Documentation
I have made an ad-hoc solution work by running the page in non HTTPS and just copying and pasting the raw HTML code, and changing the various URLS. But I'd like to make this work with the actual HTML helper. Can anyone help? Has this changed since that original topic?
There are a few posts about this out there for the change google made to the api. Basically, RecaptchaNET wasn't supporting google's latest api endpoints for this.
If you check your version, this is fixed in version 1.3.
Try downloading the latest version from CodePlex and using that dll.
or the nuget here.
I have a web application which uses twitter api. It was working fine. But suddenly it stopped work. I started googling & came to know about that twitter upgraded their api. So I need to use the library which supports v1.1
Have anybody worked with v1.1 library please help me
Thanks in advance.
Take a look at this project on GitHub. Don't be confused by the title - it has been updated since Twitter's API update to 1.1.
The jQuery plugin on the page has been re-purposed to be a Rendering engine, i.e. it helps with rendering your feeds.
The important part, however is in the "Server-Side Examples and Setup" directory. Go there, read and follow the directions in the SETUP_INSTRUCTIONS document. When you are done, if you are using PHP, use the file in the "Plug_And_Play" directory as a start point. If you are using C#, you can use this library. It is still under development, but it is updated regularly and mimics the Twitter API's specifications as closely as possible.
P.S. I am the author of both of those projects, so if you need any help, let me know. Good luck! :)
I want to know that how to configure/run Activiti BPM in Grails?? I'm using fedora as my OS, Grails 2.1 . If their is any tutorial websites are is plz mention it also..
There is a plugin for Grails applications that provides much of Activiti within a Grails app. http://grails.org/plugin/activiti However, development has sadly stopped on it by the main developer. The last update was for Activiti 5.9 and Grails 2.1, though much of the plugin content seems to be built for older versions of Grails; for example, actions in the plugin's TaskController are all closures, not methods. Also, someone did issue a pull request to update it to 5.10.
I've been trying to puzzle through the source for that plugin myself. I keep vacillating between simply setting up a standalone Activiti server and utilizing the RESTful API from within a Grails Service class, importing a few of the Activiti classes into my Grails app, or trying to re-engineer the plugin to suit my needs (my site is stuck on Grails 2.0.1 for the time being).
I've been evaluating grails server push technologies, and I keep coming across the grails atmosphere plugin, but it doesn't seem like it is actively being developed. I've also seen the grails events push plugin. Is there a standard plugin that is being used for server push in grails? Is it one of these or another one all together?
The Grails events push plugin is the recommended one.

What JavaScript framework do you use successfully with Trigger.io? I mean client side JS app frameworks like backbone, knockout, ember, angular?
We use angular.js here but have some significant problems when using router for our app ... see details here https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!topic/angular/XGDRAskA8qs .
Trigger.io and using angular.js router doesnt work together.(at least we could not get it to work)
Do you use some other JS framework you can recommend as working fine with trigger.io using application router capability? (I could see similar router feature in ember or backbone for example)
Although we don't endorse one particular library, and our goal is to be compatible with them all, I normally reach for Backbone first when starting a Trigger app. It's simple, lightweight but powerful and has a bunch of nice extensions.
Apart from the issues with Angular which we aim to have fixed as part of our next major release (probably end of July '12), we've not had reports of any snags with other libraries apart from Amber Smalltalk, which should be fixed in the same release.
We have demo apps using Backbone and Sencha here and here, and our initial demo app is written using jQuery Mobile.
I'm using jQuery, Backbonejs, Handlebars, Coffeescript, LESS as my framework - they are pretty much all from my Web development effort. Didn't have to change too much.
In fact, so far, I'm finding I have to simplify a LOT of things to get it down to a level where it fits the mobile environment.
Angular JS is one of the best contenders out there as far as JavaScript Frameworks. I ran all the way through the Angular tutorial, created a new Trigger app, and dropped in the tutorial app in place of the default scaffolding.
RAN NO PROBLEM WHAT SO EVER!!! IOS, Android, and WEB
Interestingly enough, I adapted the Angular tutorial with my own data from a server. Even works using XHR requests, and Cross Origin Resource Sharing.
In my opinion, build your app using Angular.JS + Zepto/Jquery.
Use either of those frameworks to add CSS Transitions to your app for your UI.
The reason I recommend making your own UI rather than using something like JQuery Mobile, or Sencha Touch 2 is for the past 3 days I have been doing extensive research and testing on numerouse JS Mobile UI Frameworks, and JQmobi is the only one that came close to being fast but it didnt look vary nice.
Making your own will reduce size of the app, give you full control, and keep the app running smooth..your using will never know its not native ;P
