I have set up a CRM 2011 in a vmware under port 5555. I can access the CRM system fine locally. However, when I tried accessing from my host machine I got IE cannot display webpage error. I can access IIS port 80 though. I have added Inbound Rule to TCP port 5555 on my Windows Server 2008 R2 CRM server. Anything else I have to do?
Are you using anything such as no-ip, dyndns?
You have to make sure your router is mapped to route the port: 5555 to your server Ip, is your internet with static IP?
Hope that helps.
Renato
This is an old post however might help someone...
You need to allow port 5555 on your VPC (VMWare)
Go to Firewall settings and add exception for this port. Once done you should be able to access CRM externally.
Below is a detailed blog about it

I'm running a FTB Revelation server on my Synology-NAS and I can connect in the intranet, but when my friends or I want to connect with my public-ip, they can't connect.
A portforwading tester says, that the port is closed.
I'm using a fritzbox and my ports are opened.
What could be the problem?
I had this issue too. You probably need to call your Internet Provider and ask if you have a dedicated IP. Port forwarding for ipv4 only works with dedicated IPs.
You can use NGROK (https://ngrok.com/) to "bypass" port forwarding, but server's IP will change every time you restart NGROK, and you will not be able to see player's true IPs in the server (You will see, for example, 0:0:0:0:0:0:0 instead of 93.22.22.22)
I have created a simple MVC Application and hosted on Windows Server 2016 on IIS, its running fine on server, like this:
Now i want to access it on my local network, with the same ip: 148.72.xxx.xxx:xx, but i am unable to do so. Can anybody help me what i am missing here.
Also: it worked when change port to 80 but not working on port 82 why so?
I think that's because either you didn't change your port number in IIS binding from default 80 to 82 or you forgot to allow 82 port in your windows feirewall. The port number is not controlled by your MVC application but IIS binding host header.

I am using Windows 10 with IIS 10.0
I am publishing website on IIS and I need to reach it with public ip.
What I did;
* Port forwarding through router
* Adding DMZ with my local IP
* Turning off firewall
* Adding port to firewall inbound rules with allow edge traversal
I can connect with internal IP like 192.168.1.75:81
I get "System.Net.Sockets.SocketException A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond from [MYPUBLICIP]" when I try to reach it like MYPUBLICIP:81
What are the possible scenarios that blocks to port?
Thanks.
As far as I know, the error message means there is no server listening at specified ip/port that you are trying to connect to.
In my opinion, you should firstly make sure your client machine could access your server by using this MYPUBLICIP address.
Then I suggest you could try to make sure the port 81 is your IIS web application port.
Besides, I suggest you could try to open your event viewer to find out the details error message.
I have a developed a web application based on asp.net mvc 4 framework and it works fine in visual studio. since we want to launch our website to public we bought a domain from the godaddy account. And in GoDaddy -> Domains -> Manage -> we mapped the domain name to public/external IP address e.g. 178.112.24.5 ( which is different from what i get in cmd-> ipcoonfig-> shows 192.168.0.2). I guess i should use the public ip addresss not the local ip address shown in the cmd -> ipconfig.
Now i created a web site under iis-> sites-> add new site -> mynewdomain -> with protocol as http, ipaddress as unassigned(default) , port as 80 and hostname as www.mynewdomain.com . But whenever i launch this site from iis, it routes to ISP router configuration login.html page(BTW i use Rogers Internet). So it also fails to launch from other network computers and chrome shows the error as ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED.
I followed some posts on this site:
How to solve ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED when trying to connect to localhost running IISExpress - Error 502 (Cannot debug from Visual Studio)?
https://serverfault.com/questions/54623/sites-in-iis-not-available-externally
I tried to fix this by defining firewall rule for port 80 (selected domain,private and public ) , dnsflush and some suggestions from the above two links. But it didn't fix the issue.
You want host your app yourself, ok.
So:
1. To access your host from other networks you've open ports (80 for http and ) in your firewall, sure your local IP address will 192.168.0.2 and you can access your app from LAN on it. But others must get your external IP.
2. Next moment is your domain resolver, you must setup your Name Servers for your host external IP address.
Now what can you do:
First of all use DMZ for testing, it will be open all connections to your machine, but after testing setup your firewall and open only nessessary ports.
And if your internet provider gives you your external IP + not blocking connections you can host your application.
Sure this way of host your web site is not recommended because:
A. Windows 10 Home is not server OS.
B. You need minimum 100 MB/s Speed.
C. Not secured to use home router as firewall.
Hope this will help you.
I am new to TFS and have been having issues with setting it up to be accessible on the internet.
I have set up TFS 2008 with SSL(HTTPS) on ports 8081, 81, and 17013 etc... for the respective services, on a single server deployment, with basic authentication, with server exposed as a DMZ by my router.
How can I access the TFS server outside my home if the ports are blocked on the network I am on, like those WIFI hotspots or in my company's network.
Please advice.
Cheers.
You can't. You'll need to use a port that isn't blocked. 443 should be a safe bet. If all else fails, and you don't care about moving your default websites (sharepoint, report server, etc) to another port, use 80.
NOTE: make sure you follow the TFS specific directions on MSDN. If you just start changing stuff in IIS Admin you will be very unhappy.
