When I try to install XNA, I get the following error message :
Your version of XNA Game Studio 4.0 and below isn't compatible with this version of Windows.
Is it really impossible to use XNA on Windows 8 (VS2010 is installed) ? It seems very strange ...
If someone ever have the same problem :
You have to install the latest version of Games for Windows Marketplace client (here).

I can't use XNA studio with my install of Visual Studio 2022, version 17.4.0.
Whenever I try to install XNA game studio 4.0.vsix I get this error
XNA Game Studio 4.0
This extension is not installable on any currently installed
products.
I installed:
DirectX
XNA framework redist
XNA game studio 4.0 platform tools
XNA game studio 4.0 shared
and i can't install XNA game studio 4.0.vsix
Fixed I just installed Monogame
Of course I suggest using Monogame, but just in case anyone wants the instructions to install XNA:
Download the XNA Game Studio Refresh installer:
XNAGS40_setup.exe
Run it and click through until the error window appears. Leave it at this window
Open the File Explorer and Type %TEMP% into the address bar.
Order by Date and open the newest folder.
Install each of the following: Essentially run every exe and msi file in the folder, ignoring errors.
DirectX
XNA framework redist
XNA game studio 4.0 platform tools
XNA game studio 4.0 shared
Now to the meat: Templates
The easiest solution was to copy the templates from an actual install of XNA using VS 2010... This is hard to do now.
I would suggest downloading an existing project and clean it and modify it to your needs.
There are many projects available via a google search, but here is one from a book.
I am trying to install the QuickBooks SDK v13 on a windows 10 computer for development and then again on a Windows 2016 Machine for production use.
I am getting stuck in a loop of trying to install old .Net Frameworks.
I am following these instructions:
https://developer.intuit.com/docs/01_quickbooks_desktop/1_get_started/20_download_and__install_the_sdk
Here are some of the screens I am seeing stepping thru the instructions:
I am posting this on Stackoverflow because this is an installation of an SDK problem.
Is there a way to run the installer with .NET Framework 4.x?
Am I using the wrong version of the installer? It seems very strange that is requires such an old version of .NET Framework.
I can try to figure out why the old .NET Framework versions do not install but before I do that I want to determine if I am off track with something related QuickBooks.
At this time I am not going to try to install old versions of .NET. I am going to confirm that the QB SDK actually needs those versions or find out if there are different SDKs that use current technology.
I just clicked "No" on the "Would you like to install it now?" question and it seemed to install fine.
However, I did get this AFTER the install of the sdk:
This leads to the next question: does Quickbooks SDK use .NET Framework 3.5 or does the installer use 3.5?
I'm getting the classic 'mvc4 installer is incompatible with .net 4.5' that many others have gotten except I do not have .Net 4.5 installed on this machine. MVC3 projects getting created just fine. I get this error when running the Web Installer for MVC4 Beta.
System setup is VS2010 SP1, Windows 7 64-bit, Resharper is installed as well
I am at a loss here and now seem to be just wasting time trying to fix this.
It looks as if the new MVC4 RC fixed my problem. So goes life with Beta software.
I found many posts on the forum regarding this problem which navigates me to No Page found error.
Does any body know how can I add the Blackberry JDE's that already installed on my machine.
Any help is appreciable.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks zechariahs for the reply,
Actually, My main problem is that,
I am using Windows 7 machine which is 64 bit supported both OS as well as machine H/W.
I tried a lot to install the Blackberry in Eclipse - Hellios, Galilo of 32-bit and JDK 1.5
Also tried with same for 64 bit and JDK 1.6
but it is not at all getting installed.
By reading post, I tried with
h:\New\eclipse\eclipse -vm C:\jdk\jre\bin\javaw.exe command also,
but no success.
Any how I wanna run Blackberry program on My 64-bit Windows 7 Machine,
Can you please suggest any thing ?
The Blackberry eclipse plugin is for 32bit version of Eclipse and Java sdk.
You must install all 32bit version.
What is the version of DirectX that is installed by default with Windows XP SP3? Google did not yield convincing results on this.
I've found a useful page in MSDN that confirms the version of DirectX included with each Windows OS and Service Pack release. It seems that the last change for XP was in SP2 - which was indeed DirectX 9.0c, as Raghu states.
i guess it is 9.0c.
You can check the same by running the command dxdiag
