My server encode video files (h264/acc, mpegts based format) by ffmpeg, and send to a client in a iPhonse. The default mediaplayer of ios sdk can not play those videos. How to play H264/mpegts in Ios? Is there any opensource player for ios that can play h264/mpeg-ts file.
Thanks.
iOS support playback method called HLS (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_Live_Streaming).
to convert mpeg-ts to HLS you need to segment the mpeg-ts. ffmpeg is able to convert to HLS. refer to
HTTP Live Streaming, FFMPEG & FFSERVER, and iPhone OS 3

I've been looking into the Apple documentation but I couldn't find anything that would allow me to convert a video recorded on an iPhone 7 (HEVC) to h264.
I need to do this because the app has a web server running and it's streaming the video to web browsers that don't support HEVC.
Is there any way to do this?
I am new for capturing video, encoding in h.264, WOWZA server.
I have checked so many solutions on stack-overflow and google but not get perfect that I can use.
Basic functionality:
continue capturing from iPhone (Video should be in h.264 encoded)
using live555 library, generate RTSP url
send that same video to WOWZA server for live-broadcast video
Note: Video should be continuously play on server from iphone device without major delay.
My Question:
How to capture video which is encoded in h.264 format?
How to integrate live555 library to VideoCapture class for generate RTSP URL?
How to send that video to WOWZA using RTSP protocol?
For capturing video on ios am using AV Framework.
Please correct me if my way of think is wrong.
Thanks,
Punita
I have successfully compile both MobileVLCKit and Live555 library in same project.
Solution:
I have re-compile both library with same Architecture (armv7 & armv7s) and generate DynamicFramework.
And Then used into same xcode project.
This is already a nightmare for me..
I have to get this AAC working for a project and there is no other way and no alternatives..
I'm using this library https://github.com/mangui/flashls and successfully stream ACC and MP3 with M3U8.
Now I have to get it working in iOS and in iOS, there is only the MP3 stream working. AAC seems to work, as the buffer is loading etc, but there is no audio.
The AIR has H.264/AAC Playback Support for iOS since AIR 2.
Source: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/articles/flashplayer-air-feature-list.html
And there are some NetStream members that are not supported, that might be the cause why audio is not playing in iOS.
Source: "Support for H.264 encoded video in AIR for iOS" http://help.adobe.com/en_US/FlashPlatform/reference/actionscript/3/flash/net/NetStream.html
Also the guy who wrote FlashHLS responded that he does not find any problem with the log files here: https://github.com/mangui/flashls/issues/150
NOTE: I'm streaming only audio and I only need audio. Would be great if there is a audio only library that does not use stageVideo.
Here is all my testing app code:

The AAC stream: http://media.err.ee/viker/mp4:2104941.m4a/playlist.m3u8
Thank you!!
Server transcodes the video to the h264/aac, and send video data to client simultaneously. To play and save the video data at the same time, I use mpegts as the container format, but the problem is that ios MediaPlayer can not play mpegts file.
Google said that i can used ios-build of ffmpeg to do the task, but it seem to be an overkill. is there any other ways to play mpegts in iphone using just iOS SDK?
i dont know much about ios but yes, you can play mp4(h264) videos in your ios device. i run my h264 video url to ios safari web browser, it detect the video and quicktime player start to play that video. so you can check this by entering video url (i.e:- http://yourserver.com/yourvideo.mp4) to your ios safari web browser.
NOTE :- your mp4 video should be of codec "h264". Use FFMPEG to convert videos in h264 codec
I'm developing a Flex application to iOS devices and I can't find a way to play mp4 video inside it...
I know it works with navigate to URL command but it's open browser and then the vieo player, which is not what I'm intending...
Thanks
If you work with audio and video streaming, one of the worst limitation of AIR 2.6 for iOS is that it is not possible to stream video encoded in H.264 (and audio in AAC) inside your AIR application. AIR 2.6 for iOS supports NetConnection and NetStream but can decode only Spark, VP6, MP3, NellyMoser and Speex formats. So no H.264 and no AAC.
I've tried play .flv video fine in flex app on iOS.
