Retrieving and Displaying tweets into an Windows 8 metro application - twitter

so basically I'm trying to display the latest tweets from 5-10 different sources/twitter accounts in a new application I'm trying to make.
Similarly the way tweetro/metrotwit retrieve and display tweets in the application. But on a much smaller scale.
Any ideas on how this could be done?
Would be much appreciated.
Duncan

Simply use the Twitter API to send a Web Service Request accessing those specific tweets in a data friendly format like XML or text. Then simply bind that data to a ListView or whatever pleases you.

How to use Walmart API with iOS app in Xcode? (swift language)

I've recently installed Walmart's API into my iOS app. The app's purpose is for the user to search for items using Walmart's API and then display the queried items to the user. However I am having a hard time finding any examples on how to use Walmart's API with Xcode and Swift language. Was curious if anyone could point me in the direction of how to properly use the API while using Swift language or if anyone has experience using the Walmart API in Xcode? I feel like it shouldn't be hard to accomplish what I am trying to do but right now I am a bit lost. All help and advice is appreciated in advance! Thanks.
Whenever An API is Created The Author gives out a Documentation, about the usage of the API, Requests Parameters etc.
So, Go through the Documentation of Your Needed API,
Once the Requests Are made in-app, they Generally respond you in JSON, XML etc.

How to make search query on certain web site and display it as native app

I have a task to implement but after some thought I don't really know from where to begin.
What I need to achieve:
Lets take as example BestBay web site. From my app I would like to create a certain query which will go/use to BestBay search type what I need and bring me the result. On my device I would like to show it as 10 views of the first items the website returned. For instance if I type "tvs" I will get a list of tvs so I would like to show this list on my device with the price and the link to the item (at least for the 10 first items).
I have experience with native apps(i didn't worked with web apps).
I can't use Best buy api.
I am not sure from where to begin.
I read about YQL.
I thought maybe to use the web page with the results as html and parse it to the objects I need.
Did anyone do something similar and can give me some starting point.
How to approach this kind of problem.
(tutorials/documentations/sample code something that can help me to start).
Tnx a lot.
In the end I decided to do it by HTML parsing:

Statistics regarding count of images that my app handles

I've got a REST webservice created using sinatra. I'd like to get a count of number of images processed by my app, so I can use it for analytics purposes. How would one be able to do it?
What would be a way to do this i.e like a field on the DB? or Analytics like GA? or some other way?
Any opinion is apreciated

Display all tweets with a certain hashtag with simple design

I'm developing some website using Rails. I want to add "our users' tweets" part to the main page. I need an advice how I can do it better. I hoped to get standard way to do it, may be some Twitter widget or something else. I used Google, but I've found nothing. Please, point me to the right path. Sorry if my questions is very simple, but I don't really know how to do it. I hope that I needn't parse JSON and add styles independently; I need simple design from Twitter :)
To answer your [ambiguous] question, there are a number of things to consider:
How will you retrieve the tweets?
How will you store / access them?
How will the data be displayed on front-end?
The two methods you have are either to use the Twitter gem, or the TwitterFetcher JS plugin:
Gem
The Twitter gem uses the Twitter API to pull data from the official Twitter API. This means you've got the throttling & authentication to build into your app
The benefits of using this gem is it gives you a HUGE amount of flexibility with the data. You can pull as much data as you need / want, in whatever format you want - all formatted in JSON & can be displayed on your site
This gem is best suited to storing your tweets, either in a DB or in Redis etc, otherwise you'll have massive synchronous dependency on Twitter's API - which is never good for performance
JS
The TwitterFetcher JS plugin is epic - basically takes a Twitter widget & strips out the HTML, allowing you to style it how you like
This is the most effective way to retrieve Twitter data on-the-fly, as it's asynchronous, relies on Twitter's widget system (far more robust than API), and stores no data locally

Was it able to retrieve data from a external web site which does not provide a API using YQL?

I'd like to retrieve data from a web site ,which does not provide a API
Can I retrieve data using YQL?
ie: Can I custom the data parse in the target URI with YQL?
Yes, you can. This is one of the most popular use case of YQL. Here is a sample. But it is not working when trying to retrieve data from web-page which is dissallowed for spider access (via robots.txt, for example).
Without knowing what you're trying to do, the only reasonable answer here is…
Yes.
