I am building my App conected to a Rest API and until now I only made a GET request with the following code :
//Start login process
NSString *emailstring = email.text;
NSString *passstring = pass.text;
// Create the URL from a string.
NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:[NSString stringWithFormat:#"http://www.myserver.com/Rest/API/users?format=json&email=%#&password=%#",emailstring,passstring]];
NSLog(#"%#",url);
// Create a request object using the URL.
NSURLRequest *request = [NSURLRequest requestWithURL:url];
// Prepare for the response back from the server
NSHTTPURLResponse *response = nil;
NSError *error = nil;
// Send a synchronous request to the server (i.e. sit and wait for the response)
NSData *responseData = [NSURLConnection sendSynchronousRequest:request returningResponse:&response error:&error];
NSLog(#"Reponse from web:%#", response);
// Check if an error occurred
if (error != nil) {
NSLog(#"%#", [error localizedDescription]);
// Do something to handle/advise user.
UIAlertView *message = [[UIAlertView alloc] initWithTitle:#"Login error"
message:#""
delegate:nil
cancelButtonTitle:#"OK"
otherButtonTitles:nil];
[message show];
}
else {
// Convert the response data to a string.
NSString *responseString = [[NSString alloc] initWithData:responseData encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding];
// View the data returned - should be ready for parsing.
NSLog(#"%#", responseString);
// Add data to a Plist file for next time
NSArray *paths = NSSearchPathForDirectoriesInDomains(NSDocumentDirectory, NSUserDomainMask, YES);
NSString *documentsDirectory = [paths objectAtIndex:0];
NSString *path = [documentsDirectory stringByAppendingPathComponent:#"login.plist"];
NSArray *values = [[NSArray alloc] initWithObjects:emailstring,passstring,#"IDtest",nil];
[values writeToFile:path atomically:YES];
[values release];
[self dismissModalViewControllerAnimated:YES];
}
This code work fine just for a GET request. I saw it is there a lot of framework (e.g RestKit, ....). But I am getting a bit lost with other request ! So what is the best solution to make POST DELETE PUT request for an IOS App ?
It's similar code, but using the class NSMutableRequest. You can set the httpbody and other parameters to communicate with the server.
check the documentation: https://developer.apple.com/library/mac/#documentation/Cocoa/Reference/Foundation/Classes/NSMutableURLRequest_Class/Reference/Reference.html
to post something, just put setHTTPMethod:#"POST"and assign the data to post using setHTTPBody:

I already successfully integrated Google+ to my iOS app. But with the latest Apple store updates, the app is not allowed to open the browser to initiate the Google authentication using safari so i tried uiwebview for googleplus authentication and i am getting the access token but i cannot able to get the username and email address of the person logged in.Below i added my source,

How i can get the username and email of person logged in by using the access token which i got above ? Please give any suggestions as i dont get any solution on google.
Thanks for your support
if you want to fetch the whole profile of the google+ user, you can use the below URL
https://www.googleapis.com/plus/v1/people/me/?access_token={YOUR_ACCESS_TOKEN}
Then call the GET method. You will be given by an array containing authorized profile details.
Another method is that, if you want to store the authorized users email, its already present in the field as id_token. It is a base64_encoded data with some fields. If you decode the id yo will get some information about the user.For example in your result you found id_token as
eyJhbGciOiJSUzI1NiIsImtpZCI6ImRhNjYyNWIzNmJjMDlkMzAwMzUzYjI4YTc0MWNlMTc1MjVhNGMzM2IifQ.eyJpc3MiOiJhY2NvdW50cy5nb29nbGUuY29tIiwic3ViIjoiMTE0MjE4NDEwODI0NzM1ODkyMDg0IiwiYXpwIjoiMTY5NzY2MjI4OTY4LWtoNzI1dTFpZWdzNHN1bnFhOThhcHUxMHU4djhhcmFmLmFwcHMuZ29vZ2xldXNlcmNvbnRlbnQuY29tIiwiZW1haWwiOiJhcmp1bkBsaW5rd2FyZS5pbiIsImF0X2hhc2giOiJQVnJxTURpNDViZnVGTm9kTmlsSFlRIiwiZW1haWxfdmVyaWZpZWQiOnRydWUsImF1ZCI6IjE2OTc2NjIyODk2OC1raDcyNXUxaWVnczRzdW5xYTk4YXB1MTB1OHY4YXJhZi5hcHBzLmdvb2dsZXVzZXJjb250ZW50LmNvbSIsImhkIjoibGlua3dhcmUuaW4iLCJpYXQiOjE0Mzc0ODIwNTUsImV4cCI6MTQzNzQ4NTY1NX0.uSMrV8rOz4T4i5MhiCeQueNVGLv4NBLP-gtOcyow8t4BY9qvUO78sG4y0jPhbclPdX1kUZjzMVTeah2nU9fTYyl50dlj5FzWNy7LyM-a1GC2jEwkgWMgHdRPh6l7dqMrjQ9sU1rF-ZaiWfG7C9VJTJ76uEWRiSKKA9EFQtBil3xBtmDH07UMRxkbri2jBwaCPAWgjU8-dTarrxNESrwrO_nptaRzfGeaTyQBIYCAk6_9deXmblPgteER1OHoa65xb1OVK3ZPeZ3_dj9gjlXSyGp2ho5WIFGf2xRvW4XoROpUYqhLvrS3s-YrrZ8J5X5-3mafrs1qDjJYJogctbW7dg
The above id_token contains 2 parts separated by '.'. The first part is thebase64_encoded key and the second part is metadata.
you can decode both the data as
$key=base64_decode(eyJhbGciOiJSUzI1NiIsImtpZCI6ImRhNjYyNWIzNmJjMDlkMzAwMzUzYjI4YTc0MWNlMTc1MjVhNGMzM2IifQ)
will give you the key
$data=base64_decode(eyJpc3MiOiJhY2NvdW50cy5nb29nbGUuY29tIiwic3ViIjoiMTE0MjE4NDEwODI0NzM1ODkyMDg0IiwiYXpwIjoiMTY5NzY2MjI4OTY4LWtoNzI1dTFpZWdzNHN1bnFhOThhcHUxMHU4djhhcmFmLmFwcHMuZ29vZ2xldXNlcmNvbnRlbnQuY29tIiwiZW1haWwiOiJhcmp1bkBsaW5rd2FyZS5pbiIsImF0X2hhc2giOiJQVnJxTURpNDViZnVGTm9kTmlsSFlRIiwiZW1haWxfdmVyaWZpZWQiOnRydWUsImF1ZCI6IjE2OTc2NjIyODk2OC1raDcyNXUxaWVnczRzdW5xYTk4YXB1MTB1OHY4YXJhZi5hcHBzLmdvb2dsZXVzZXJjb250ZW50LmNvbSIsImhkIjoibGlua3dhcmUuaW4iLCJpYXQiOjE0Mzc0ODIwNTUsImV4cCI6MTQzNzQ4NTY1NX0.uSMrV8rOz4T4i5MhiCeQueNVGLv4NBLP-gtOcyow8t4BY9qvUO78sG4y0jPhbclPdX1kUZjzMVTeah2nU9fTYyl50dlj5FzWNy7LyM-a1GC2jEwkgWMgHdRPh6l7dqMrjQ9sU1rF-ZaiWfG7C9VJTJ76uEWRiSKKA9EFQtBil3xBtmDH07UMRxkbri2jBwaCPAWgjU8-dTarrxNESrwrO_nptaRzfGeaTyQBIYCAk6_9deXmblPgteER1OHoa65xb1OVK3ZPeZ3_dj9gjlXSyGp2ho5WIFGf2xRvW4XoROpUYqhLvrS3s-YrrZ8J5X5-3mafrs1qDjJYJogctbW7dg)
will give you the metadata.
while decoding the data ,it will give the result as
{"iss":"accounts.google.com","sub":"114218410824735892084","azp":"169766228968-kh725u1iegs4sunqa98apu10u8v8araf.apps.googleusercontent.com","email":"arjun#linkware.in","at_hash":"PVrqMDi45bfuFNodNilHYQ","email_verified":true,"aud":"169766228968-kh725u1iegs4sunqa98apu10u8v8araf.apps.googleusercontent.com","hd":"linkware.in","iat":1437482055,"exp":1437485655}
Above result you can find the email filed. I hope this will help you.
I didn't get correct results for Forward geocoding in certain cases. When I search for some places or hotel it shows result of some others places or areas. I have got following code. I study the following link. What url should i place to get correct results.
how can we implement the following given in following site
https://developers.google.com/places/webservice/autocomplete
A request for addresses containing "Vict" with results in French:
https://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/place/autocomplete/json?input=Vict&types=geocode&language=fr&key=API_KEY
A request for cities containing "Vict" with results in Brazilian
Portuguese:
https://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/place/autocomplete/json?input=Vict&types=(cities)&language=pt_BR&key=API_KEY
I have implemented following but it doesn't give the results as i aspected
- (CLLocationCoordinate2D)addressLocation{

When i search for radission in maps.google.com it shows as below
But when i search in my app it shows different locations then what I search
You can either take use of the Region Biasing, which according to wiki, should be NP. So add ®ion=np at the end of your query.
Or you can use the Viewport Biasing to set the bounds of your searches.
I have done what you have asked in one of my apps, but the url is different.
I am posting the function that gets called each time i input something in a text field.
-(void) startAutocomplete{
NSString* baseUrl = [NSString stringWithFormat:#"https://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/place/queryautocomplete/json?input=%#&key=AIzaSyDz3HAmNY8NsgIhtA8gtbH-QA08Lg9tej4&types=all", self.locationTextfield.text];
NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:[baseUrl stringByAddingPercentEscapesUsingEncoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding]];
NSLog(#"Url: %#", url);
NSURLRequest *request = [NSURLRequest requestWithURL:url];
[NSURLConnection sendAsynchronousRequest:request queue:[NSOperationQueue mainQueue] completionHandler:^(NSURLResponse *response, NSData *data, NSError *connectionError) {
if (connectionError!=nil) {
[[[UIAlertView alloc] initWithTitle:nil message:connectionError.localizedDescription delegate:self cancelButtonTitle:#"OK" otherButtonTitles: nil] show ] ;
}else{
NSError *error = nil;
self.searchResult= [NSJSONSerialization JSONObjectWithData:data options:0 error:&error];
//NSLog(#"result:%#",self.searchResult);
[self.tableView reloadData];
}
}];
}
I'm trying to get the current user's likes after they have signed into my iOS app using Facebook. The only things I can get from the user are their profile (gender, locale, etc).
How would I go about requesting permission to get their user_likes, after they have logged in?
Also, would I have to get my app reviewed by the Facebook team? I've read somewhere that I may have to.
First of all you need to provide login permission for user_likes and if others then as follows:
self.LoginView.readPermissions = #[#"basic_info",#"user_location",#"user_birthday",#"user_likes",#"email",#"user_relationships",#"user_interests",#"user_hometown",#"user_about_me",#"user_games_activity",#"user_relationship_details",#"user_religion_politics"];
self.LoginView.delegate=self;
There after you need to call webService using graph Api by simply calling the method ( [self obtainUserData]) which is mentioned as follows:
-(void)obtainUserData
{
NSString *fbAccessToken = [FBSession activeSession].accessTokenData.accessToken;
NSString *fields =#"id,name,first_name,last_name,picture,permissions,installed,music,likes,email,friends,gender,birthday,email,hometown,relationship_status,interested_in,sports";
// feed is use for all action
NSString *path = [NSString stringWithFormat:#"https://graph.facebook.com/me?fields=%#",fields];
NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:[NSString stringWithFormat:#"%#&access_token=%#", path,fbAccessToken]];
NSLog(#"%#",url);
NSURLRequest *req=[NSURLRequest requestWithURL:url];
NSURLConnection *conn=[[NSURLConnection alloc]initWithRequest:req delegate:self];
// NSMutableData *jsondata=[[NSMutableData alloc]init];
NSMutableData *data = [[NSMutableData alloc] init];
self.receivedData = data;
[conn start];
}
//here receivedData is an object of NSMutable Data
you will obtain your required output in following method:
-(void)connectionDidFinishLoading:(NSURLConnection *)connection
{
NSMutableDictionary *json=[NSJSONSerialization JSONObjectWithData:_receivedData options:NSJSONReadingMutableContainers error:nil];
NSLog(#"json: %#",json);
}
HopE this Helps!!
I am having trouble sending an email. The code works just fine if message is only one word. When I add more than one word i.e. with spaces or symbols, it Errors out with "There was an connection error. Please make sure you have internet connection and try again later".
- (void)sendAction {
NSString *email = [self.emailTxt text];
NSString *message = [self.messageTxt text];
NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:[NSString stringWithFormat:#"%#?email=%#&message=%#", kITSuggestionPage, email, message]];
NSURLRequest *request = [NSURLRequest requestWithURL:url];
[NSURLConnection sendAsynchronousRequest:request queue:[NSOperationQueue mainQueue] completionHandler:^(NSURLResponse *response, NSData *data, NSError *error) {
NSString *title = (!error)? #"Message Sent" : #"Error";
NSString *message = (!error)? #"Thank you for your Feedback, we hope it will help us to make this product even better." : #"There was an connection error. Please make sure you have internet connection and try again later.";
UIAlertView *alert = [[UIAlertView alloc] initWithTitle:title message:message delegate:nil cancelButtonTitle:#"Close" otherButtonTitles:nil, nil];
[alert show];
NSLog(#"Error: %#", error.localizedDescription);
}];
if (email && (email.length > 0)) {
NSUserDefaults *userDefaults = [NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults];
[userDefaults setObject:email forKey:kITUserEmailKey];
[userDefaults synchronize];
}
}
You have to URL-escape your message parameter (essentially replacing certain characters that are not allowed in URLs with percent encodings, e.g. %20 for space).
Example (assuming you're using ARC):
NSString *message = [self.messageTxt text];
message = CFBridgingRelease(CFURLCreateStringByAddingPercentEscapes(NULL, (CFStringRef)message, NULL, CFSTR("!*'();:#&=+$,/?%#[]"), kCFStringEncodingUTF8));
NSURL *url = ...
Try to add %20 in the place of spaces of the message. If it is working fine now then the problem is with the encoding. Encode your URL before sending request.
NSString *urlString = [urlString stringByReplacingPercentEscapesUsingEncoding :NSASCIIStringEncoding];
This will encode the URL.
I am trying to make a basic authentication system in iOS that sends a POST to Django and on the Django side authenticates the user and starts a session. Right now I am able to send the user information by passing the values as data in the URL and authenticating it, but how do I retrieve the session data or cookie from the Django response? When I try to store or print out the cookie, it tells me the array is empty. I have tried both request.requestCookies and request.responseCookies.
NSDictionary *dict = [NSDictionary dictionaryWithObjectsAndKeys:#"test_user", #"username", #"pass", #"password", nil];
NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:[NSString stringWithFormat:#"http://127.0.0.1:8000/login/"]];
NSError *error;
NSData *data = [NSJSONSerialization dataWithJSONObject:dict options:0 error:&error];
if ( error ) {
NSLog( #"ERROR - %#", error.localizedDescription );
} else {
__block ASIHTTPRequest *request = [ASIHTTPRequest requestWithURL:url];
[request addRequestHeader: #"Content-Type" value:#"application/json; charset=utf-8"];
[request appendPostData:data];
[request setRequestMethod:#"POST"];
[request setCompletionBlock:^{
UIAlertView *alerView = [[UIAlertView alloc] initWithTitle:#"Login"
message:#"Login was sent"
delegate:nil
cancelButtonTitle:nil
otherButtonTitles:#"Ok", nil];
[alerView performSelectorOnMainThread:#selector(show) withObject:nil waitUntilDone:NO];
NSLog(#"RESPONSE: %#", [[NSString alloc] initWithData:request.responseData encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding]);//, [request.requestCookies objectAtIndex:0]);
NSLog(#"COOKIE: %#", [request.requestCookies objectAtIndex:0]);
[ASIHTTPRequest addSessionCookie:[request.requestCookies objectAtIndex:0]];
}];
Okay, so I resolved this issue and it turns out that on the server side I was putting in the data but not officially logging in with Django (was not returning the proper cookies) which meant my app was not receiving the proper header.
