TurnItIn on Desire2Learn - desire2learn

We're trying to turn TurnItIn on for distinct course sites in our Desire2Learn environment.
As far as we can determine, to do this now we have to do this for each ou in the DOME manually.
Is there anything in the API that we can leverage to create a 'form' to enable this across all org units?

As of version 10 of Desire2Learn suite there are no apis to control dome config.

Querying Global Address List with Microsoft Graph

I'm trying to query the Global Address List using Microsoft Graph. I've worked with and adapted the sample code from https://github.com/microsoftgraph/console-csharp-snippets-sample.git -- however, I'm still having trouble. I've seen this article -- Global Address List Graph API -- which indicates I need to use the "/contacts" endpoint. However, I don't see how this helps me when I'm using the Microsoft.Graph library. Is there some method or collection within the Microsoft.Graph library that will allow me to read the GAL?
"GAL" is a MAPI concept that doesn't really apply to Graph. With Graph, you just read the users or contacts in your company's Active Directory. By combining both lists, you come close to what you'd see in the GAL in a MAPI client.
To do that, you would list users as doc'ed here: https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/graph/docs/api-reference/v1.0/api/user_list
Using the library, I believe this will get you started:
client.Users.Request().GetAsync();
For contacts, it's a lot trickier with the Graph library. Organizational contacts are only supported in the beta version of Microsoft Graph, which the client library doesn't support unfortunately. (See this issue for info). Michael Mainer did a write up of how you can generate your own beta version of the library if you're interested.
The info on querying organizational contacts is found here: https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/graph/docs/api-reference/beta/resources/orgcontact.
As of late 2021, doesn't appear to be an easy "Export Global Address List" API from Microsoft. There appear to be manual methods (e.g. using the Exchange Admin interface) but nothing programmatic.
Below is broad strokes exercise for creating an approximation (that may be sufficient for your needs). A more accurate exercise may be to export the GAL from a official client (e.g. Outlook/Outlook Web/Exchange Admin interface). Its possible that in some cases the GAL is user specific which may make GAL export concept significantly more involved.
GAL export exercise:
APIs:
MS Graph API (available via HTTP, e.g. GET/POST)
Users
Groups
Some of the above only allowed certain properties accessible by individual record query - I needed to get the whole list then iterate through each record one by one to get all needed properties.
Exchange Powershell (available via Powershell)
Get Mailbox (for flags not exposed by Graph/Users)
Get-DistributionGroup (for flags not exposed by Graph/Groups)
Azure Functions can be used to run these queries serverless/"API-ified". Azure App Registration can be used as OAuth app that can be granted the permissions to access the above. Microsoft Graph Explorer is handy for testing Graph requests.
Put it together:
Smash the datasets together and then filter out on fields. Some flags are:
hideFromAddressLists
hideFromOutlookClients
HiddenFromAddressListsEnabled
showInAddressList,
some conditions you have to manually check for, e.g.
if no provisioned plans (i.e. unlicensed)
if no email address
etc.

Can I set a Message Delivery Restriction for a mailbox via Microsoft Graph?

The goal is change so that the user mailbox only accepts messages from certain senders?
This can be done using PowerShell or the Exchange web interface.
Can this be done using Microsoft Graph API?
This isn't supported via Microsoft Graph.
Purely administrative functionality like this is often only accessible via a portal or PowerShell. If you're looking to build a custom front-end for this functionality, you may be able to leverage System.Management.Automation and execute the PowerShell script from C#.

Add release condition on module via desire2learn valence web services

I am trying to add modules using Desire2Learn's valence API, which also involves setting up a release condition. I am specifically looking for adding this condition Classlist->Group Enrollment on the module. Could not find an API that would add a release condition on a module.
http://docs.valence.desire2learn.com/res/content.html
Has anyone come across with this? What API shall be used for adding a release condition via valence web services?
Unfortunately, the Valence Learning Framework APIs do not expose the ability to view or edit release conditions. So while you can create the content modules via Valence, you will have to use the Web UI to manage release conditions.
This sounds like a good candidate for a feature request. Clients of D2L can search and post feature requests to the Product Ideas Exchange. Twitter API Setting communication preferences for accounts with XAUTH

I wondered if anyone is aware of anyway that I may modify the communication settings of multiple Twitter accounts. Basically I have a number of accounts which all currently receive info at twitter emails etc and I'd like to manage these communication settings in an automated fashion but this doesn't seem to be possible.
I wondered if there is any way to do this in an automated fashion?
I'm using LinqToTwitter http://linqtotwitter.codeplex.com/ project to talk to the Twitter API in C#, although I don't necessarily have to use this.
I'm currently starting to think of using Selenium to do this.
Does anyone have any thoughts.
Many thanks,
Andy
There are some application settings you can manage through the API. In LINQ to Twitter they're mostly available by querying on the Application entity. However, there aren't any email preference setting options that the Twitter API offers.
My experience is that these settings options tend to change over time, mostly additive. So, whatever you come up with, you'll probably need to revisit your implementation occasionally to adapt to these changes.

QuickBooks with Joomla integration

I need to integrate our website in Joomla and quickbooks by importing the customer, invoice data from joomla site to Quickbooks. I am using Quickbooks pro 2014 on windows machine. I see there is QuickBooks PHP DevKit available by ConsoliBYTE. By searching on stackoverflow, I see people have used this toolkit to perform the data import(customer creation) into QuickBooks. I need to know what all Quickbooks functionality can be achieved using this php toolkit. That is what it can and cannot do. Is it build on QB SDK?
For example I have scenario where I need to import customers and need to add them as customer jobs. So does phpdevkit supports job creation? If yes then how do I find the xml for that in phpdevkit quickbooks library? So probably there will be more such similar requirements coming from end user in future and I need to consider these facts while designing the solution using php toolkit. I do not want a solution which is limited to only few or specific functionality. I have read the QB SDK and it is mentioned that SDK can be used with .NET, java. both solution goes with webconnector. SDK can perform almost all the functions as supported in quickbooks UI. So I am confused which one I should pick PHP toolkit by ConsoliByte or .Net/Java based. Language is not a concern for me. My aim is to look for solution flexible and capable to cover maximum QB functionality which includes customer creation, invoice creation, adding customer job and updating the customer/invoice on every synchup as well as limitation which the solution poses must be known before implementation.
So along with what QuickBooks PHP DevKit can or cannot do, I need to know its difference from Java/.Net based QB SDK (Not language PHP or VB.NET/Java but core framework)?
I tried searching it over stackoverflow and google but could not found this information. I appreciate any inputs shared.
Thanks,
Amit
I need to know what all Quickbooks functionality can be achieved using this php toolkit.
The full list is much too long to post here. As a basic overview:
Automatically send orders placed on your website to QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks for Windows
Charge credit cards using the QuickBooks Merchant Service
Connect to Intuit Anywhere / the Intuit Partner Platform and the v3 APIs
Get access to QuickBooks reports
Pull information out of QuickBooks and display it online
Connect to all Microsoft Windows versions of QuickBooks
Connect to QuickBooks Online Edition
etc. etc. etc.
More details available here:
https://github.com/consolibyte/quickbooks-php
For QuickBooks FOR WINDOWS, you can see the full list of operations supported by clicking the "Select Message" drop-down in the OSR:
https://developer-static.intuit.com/qbSDK-current/Common/newOSR/index.html
For QuickBooks ONLINE, you can see the full list of operations supported here:
https://developer.intuit.com/docs/0025_quickbooksapi/0050_data_services
Is it build on QB SDK?
Yes.
So does phpdevkit supports job creation?
Yes. Anything the QuickBooks SDK supports you can do.
If yes then how do I find the xml for that in phpdevkit quickbooks library?
Use the QuickBooks OSR I linked to above. Search for CustomerAdd (Jobs in QuickBooks are just Customers with a ParentRef defined).
We also have examples on our wiki:
http://www.consolibyte.com/docs/index.php/Example_qbXML_Requests
And provide support via our forums:
http://consolibyte.com/forum/
I do not want a solution which is limited to only few or specific functionality.
Again, anything the QuickBooks SDK can do, can be done via the PHP DevKit.
So I am confused which one I should pick PHP toolkit by ConsoliByte or .Net/Java based.
Joomla is written in PHP, so why the heck would you choose something written in another language...? It would be silly to try to tie .NET or Java in with your Joomla app/database...
which includes customer creation, invoice creation, adding customer job and updating the customer/invoice on every synchup
All of that is certainly do-able.
So along with what QuickBooks PHP DevKit can or cannot do, I need to know its difference from Java/.Net based QB SDK (Not language PHP or VB.NET/Java but core framework)?
The difference is the language. .NET is not PHP. PHP is not Java. Everything is just a wrapper around the QuickBooks SDK/COM API. The only practical difference in the language the stuff is written in.
