I'm making an iPad app, and basically, I want to make a tray that pulls out from the bottom of my app, and I'd like to have a little tab at the bottom of the screen that if you pull, it brings up an image, and the image's height would match the height you pulled the button to. It's a bit like how the notification center works, except the tab is always visible.
So my question is how would I have the image follow the tab as it moves vertically across the screen? I would assume using a UIButton for the tab and a UIImage for the tray would make sense, and I have some code for making buttons move, but how can you make one object follow another?

I wouldn't use a button for the tab -- just a regular old view.
To make your image follow the tab (however you implement either of them), simply animate them both together. That is, if you create an animation that moves the center of the button to the Y-coordinate of the user's touch, you can at the same time move the image vertically by the same amount. The two objects will then seem glued together because they move together.

In Android, on the click of a button I get a screen coming up (the one on the left with just the First Name and Last Name) and on click of the more button the other fields are also displayed (the image on the right).
I tried to achieve this by loading another view on the click of the button, but this shows a view completely filling the screen and not like the one in the image with limited height and the background view being greyed out.
Also to get a screen like the one on the left I made their height constraints equal to 0, but though it showed just 2 textfields, the screen filled the whole screen and not like the one on the left.
Any idea as to how this can be achieved?

I've been looking for a solution for this for more time than I'd care to admit. I've managed to add a background image, although this then skews the image so it isn't right.
I'm looking for how to add an image to a NavigationBar in the centre? I want to add a centre aligned logo to the top screen.
This particular section of the app is contained within a Navigation Controller which pops up as a modal for Logging In before the user can go any further. Once logged in then the remaining parts of the app will likely be contained within a Tab Bar Controller. Not sure if this makes any difference when trying to add a logo, so mentioning just in case.
The documentation on everything Swift related from Apple is abysmal.

I'm looking into implementing a subview in a view controller that will sit as a bottom bar of the screen until the user holds down and pulls it up to the top of the window to cover the whole screen.
What Google Maps does in Android/iOS with clicking on a pin and pulling the bottom bar up to see details is exactly what I want to implement.
Here's what I'm talking about. I'm not sure what the best way is to implement this.
I can either have an animation that is hardcoded when the bar is clicked causing the view to expands up and cover 3/4 of the screen and anchors there and 1/4 of the screen will be a map and once the map is clicked will drop the view back down. Or have the user drag and pull up the view and pull it back dock to anchor.

I need to present of a menu UIView on top of my main UIView. This happens when the user clicks the square button as illustrated in the picture. It´s kinda of a facebook app layout except the main view is not pushed away, it´s still in position but with the menu view on top of it.
The menu is supposed to be around 80% in screen width and sliding in from left when clicking the square button.
Every possible non-external-lib solution I´ve tried so far failed so I´m really need some help with this one. Code examples or a push in the right direction would be highly appreciated!

I have a requirement for a very simple Button Bar.
It should take up the width of the screen.
It should allow at least 3
buttons.
The buttons should be of equal width and together take up
the whole width of the bar.
Each button should be tappable, but not
have a selected state.
The bar will be overlaid on a MapView and positioned directly above a TabBar.
Tapping a button will launch a Modal ViewController.
I thought about using a UITabBar and not allowing its tabs to become selected, but the HIG is pretty clear that this is not correct usage and UIToolBar doesn't allow the button widths to be set.
This seems like a very simple requirement but I can't see an obvious solution. Is there something I'm missing? Can anyone suggest a solution?
What's wrong with just creating a simple view that draws an appropriate gradient, and then adding three buttons of the appropriate size?
If you're feeling ambitious, or if this is something that you're likely to use more than once, you could even have the view create the three buttons. Call it ThreeButtonBar or something. Give it a constant height and adjust the width to match that of its superview so that you can use it in portrait or landscape orientation.
