I want to learn Delphi, does anyone know of a good free program that would let me write code with Delphi?
I want to learn as many languages as I can, I already kinda know C#, some LUA, some VB and Java, but I want to know more. For the sake of knowing I guess.
You can use Lazarus FreePascal.

Such as PostGIS and SpatiaLite?
I am using AnyDac, which does not provide support. Are there any other components which can make life easier for me when working with such GIS enabled databses in Delphi?
[Update] If not an you want one, then please post requierments to my other question. Thank you.

Is there any tool or application for converting openmp to pthreads program? Please let me know.
There is Rose Compiler.
It works, but it is quite complicated to compile it.
I am not aware of any and I don't believe that is possible, as there are indefinite possibilities of what is necessary in order to produce a working and scaling parallel program.
As each programming model (as pthreads and OpenMP) has its special features and pitfalls, it is virtually impossible to automate this process.
Use the opportunity to enhance your program while converting it by hand!

Can someone please provide a simple example of how to consume a REST service using Delphi 2005?
The service appears to provide both XML and JSON, so I haven't decided which one to use.
Head to Delphi REST Clients Collection by Marco Cantù where you can find lots of code on the topic.
It's good for you. I wish you good luck

It seems that F# Type Providers are the leading feature of F# 3.0. My question is simple, what should I use it for? I am scientifically oriented (engineering). The only examples I have seen so far are related to web - is it the only real use of this feature?
EDIT:
There is a nice introduction of Type Providers together with information on when to use them and when not to use them here.
A really nice example on how to implement a Vector type is here: http://www.mindscapehq.com/blog/index.php/2011/09/19/f-type-providers-as-if-by-magic/

Were can I find some good Podcasts that talk about program with Delphi & the whole software lifecycle
The Podcast at Delphi
http://www.delphi.org/
Also, you specified "software lifecycle" so there is another great podcast I like which is really language agnostic and that is Software Engineering Radio:
