Here is the scenario:
I have 2 TFS servers, TFS-A is in local and TFS-B is abroad.
Check into TFS-B is very slowly, so my idea is to check into TFS-A first,
and check all changes into TFS-B from TFS-A in once time at night.
But the TFS-A and TFS-B have different user accounts, when I synchronize them, error happens.
The error told me access denied.
So if it is possible to sync two TFS with different accounts.
How to do it?
Thanks in advance.
You need to supply a user mapping in your TFS integration platform configuration. A similar post shows how to do this in detail: TFS Integration Platform: How to map users with the SVN adapter?
Hope that helps you further.

I am working with team foundation server and I added a user in the server from Administration Console and the user has access to the server. But the problem is even when I remove that user from Administration Console user still able to login to the server. Can anyone help me here? Thank you in advance.
To remove users completely from TFS server. You should remove the user from all the security groups.
UsE the command below to get this account has been added to which groups. Then check all those groups and try to remove that account from those groups.
TFS security imx:
tfssecurity /imx [domain\account] /server:[server url]
Besides, changes you make to local or Active Directory groups do not get reflected in TFS immediately. Instead, TFS will synchronize those groups regularly.
A periodic clean-up job that is executed removes people from the global groups. If you just wait, they will disappear in a couple of days. They will not have access to any of the TFS assets however.
You could look in http://tfs.mydomain.com:8080/tfs/_oi to see the sync job.
If you cannot wait for the scheduled job, you can try to do the force sync: http://msmvps.com/blogs/vstsblog/archive/2011/02/17/force-tfs-to-sync-with-active-directory.aspx
My server running TFS express crashed. I managed to mount the disk and extract mdf/ldf file for my TFS collection. Here is what I did next:
Built a new machine (with the same name/IP address) and installed SQL Express/TFS server express.
From SQL Server Management Studio, attached the mdf/ldf files. I can now see TFS_MyCollection as a new database.
From TFS Administrative console, clicked on "Attach Collection."
However, the new database is not being listed.
I went through a bunch of links on the Internet. https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/d949edf3-1795-448a-a1cc-39555ce87b50/tfs-2010-installation-error had a similar situation. Based on the suggestion, I had attached the database. I also looked at https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms404869(VS.80).aspx. However, this one talks about using backup/restore, which is not my case.
I must be missing some configuration step. Please advice. Regards.
You cant just attach a collection that was never detached.
You need to unconfigure your TFS instance (tfconfig.exe setup /uninstall:all) and then restore all of the databases.
You will need to restore each collection and the configuration DB. They are currently a set. Once you have all of the databses attached/restored you need to run the setup and "configure application tier only".
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms404869.aspx
You need to follow the documentation for moving hardware. Make sure that you follow each step.
Note: You should take backups!
I am currently using TFS to source changes to a web site code base. Currently, when I'm done making a change, I need to deploy the changes to a web server for review by the end user.
Generally the way I would do this is just connect to that machine via RDP, open visual studio and get latest to pull changes...
However, this only works if I'm the only one working on the entire site. If someone else RDP in to make changes, the site is locked to my TFS account, and they can't make any changes to it...
They could pull their own copy of the site into their own machine via TFS and check in the changes there but because so much of their part is done on the database (vs code) they'd have to duplicate everything they do into the website every time them commit a change, so they prefer to work directly on the machine...
is there any way to make this work, a better way to set this up so I can pull their changes into my local copy via TFS?
my biggest problem to overcome is the fact that when I Get Latest on the webserver via RDP it locks the entire solution to my TFS account, so that when they login to RDP with their credentials, they can't make any changes because the files are checked in, and of course they can't checkout because of course the solution is tied to my account.
If I can get past that I think we'd be okay.
any info is appreciated, please let me know if I can provide more context, thanks
Can you set up a different TFS workspace for each user on your RDP machine? This should allow multiple users to use the TFS client to pull the same solution on the same machine without issue.
I'm new to mylyn.
It seems I should connect to a repository, should I connect to eclipse.org to store bugs/tasks on my projects? Is information stored secure/private?
In the properties for task repository, I enter
Server: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs
Label: Eclipse.org
User ID: ...
Password: ...
When I click validate settings, I keep getting
"I/O Error occurred while communicating with https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs."
Via chrome, I have logged into the account using the creditials.
What should I do next to be able to connect to the repository?

NO! You must create your own Bugzilla installation. You can also use other tracking system like Trac or JIRA.
But you can also use Mylyn local. It is possible to create local tasks.
Tim Krueger says it all. Additionally though, getting an IO Exception on trying to connect to the Eclipse.org Bugzilla instance is weird. You might want to use the webUI to submit a bug to this Bugzilla about it.
Which leads me to my second point: the eclipse.org Bugzilla is used for bugs on all those eclipse.org projects. Mylyn being one of them. It is not for private tasks.
So local tasks are your best bet. And if you need collaboration, try installing one of the many repositories where there are Mylyn connectors for. Trac and Bugzilla probably being a good choice as they are mature connectors, and a free servers.
I created a local group user which I added to TFS Contributor/Valid User groups. Anytime if I needed to add a user as contributor, I would add him/her to the local group and the person has the access to TFS; which is until now. Recently a new person got hired and MIS setup the domain account for him. I added him the same way but for some reason he couldn't connect to TFS. I tried everything that I know of. I even asked MIS to recreate (delete and create again) the user in ADS. But nothing seems to be working. Does anybody know what could be possible problem?
I had the same issue that the a user did not get permission to TFS when adding hem/her to the user group. I resolved it by adding the user directly to TFS. You can use the TFS Administration Tool to add users quickly to TFS, SSRS and Sharepoint: http://tfsadmin.codeplex.com
OK. I solved the problem. It was TFS cache that was causing this problem. Once I cleared it, everything worked fine.
Thanks for trying to help.
