`gem_original_require': no such file to load -- geometry - ruby-on-rails

When trying to run rails 2.3.11 server, I keep running into this: `gem_original_require': no such file to load — geometry.
Let me know if you have any questions about what I’m using or the like; I’m rather new to Rails so I’m not really sure what info to provide you all with.
Here’s a trace of rake gems:install —trace

My bet isn't that you've specified the geometry gem in your Gemfile and another gem (or perhaps you) is trying to load it. I don't know the exact name of this gem so I can't tell you exactly the line to put in your Gemfile, but it looks like this:
gem 'ruby-geometry', '0.2.8'

Rails - ckeditor orm failed to install correctly

So i made a bit of a mistake when trying to add ckeditor to my Rails project last night.
I was following a tutorial and it came to a point in the installation of this gem where it told me to input the following command:
rails generate ckeditor:install --orm=active_record --backend=carrierwave
except i misspelled 'record'
I've looked everywhere i can think and i cant seem to fix this, rails d ... doesnt work gem uninstall doesnt fix it either, and i can't see any related files in my db folder, or anywhere else that i know to look at.
heres the first bit of the error i keep seeing:
/home/naazarik/.rvm/gems/ruby-2.3.1/gems/bootsnap-1.3.0/lib/bootsnap/load_path_cache/core_ext/kernel_require.rb:32:in `require': cannot load such file -- ckeditor/orm/active_recort (LoadError)
from /home/naazarik/.rvm/gems/ruby-2.3.1/gems/activesupport-5.2.0/lib/active_support/dependencies.rb:283:in `block in require'
notice the misspelled active_recort?
anyways does anyone have any idea how to either fix this, or remove this from my project?
Thanks!
CKEditor installer should generate config/initializers/ckeditor.rb file that in your case will have following line: require 'ckeditor/orm/active_recort', which you can update to say active_record instead
However, ActiveRecord integration requires a few more files to be generated (and these files were not generated due to a misspelling). Because of that I believe the best way to fix the problem is just to remove the initializer file entirely and run the rails generate ckeditor:install command again.

EventCalendar table bulider is not installing in rails 4

I am having problem in full_calendar table builder.and i am using rails 4.I have used following command . **rails plugin install git://github.com/p8/table_builder.git
** I got error like **/usr/local/rvm/gems/ruby-2.0.0-p247#ruby2/gems/activesupport-4.0.0/lib/active_support/dependencies.rb:228:in `require': cannot load such file -- rails/commands/plugin (LoadError)
**
And My view look like
It won't showing in table format. Please help me....
Use the gem instead of the plugin. Also I don't think that repository is active anymore, there is an alternative listed on the readme; and it doesn't look like table_builder has been updated for rails 4 so you might encounter other issues.
This is the updated repo: https://github.com/watu/table_builder
Add it to your gemfile & run bundle install:
gem "watu_table_builder", :require => "table_builder"
If you're using a tutorial for an older version of rails note that there are some things that will bite you -- (plugins, strong paramenters, Model.all, etc)

Rails locations - where do I locate a gem

In Rails -
Where should I locate Gems? I downloaded bootstrap and it's working, as well as a sample Rails app, separately, but I want them to work together. There is a bootstrapped rails gem (http://rubygems.org/gems/bootstrapped-rails) which I downloaded, but I'm unsure as to where I should locate it. Under models?
And how do I make sure I am referring to it? I need to add something in controller as well?
Again, more an answer to the question in the title than to what was intended by the questioner but you can use
bundle show <gemname>
To locate the directory where a gem is installed.
As Dfr mentioned: https://github.com/seyhunak/twitter-bootstrap-rails
Twitter bootstrap isn't anything more than (mostly) a collection of css/js/image files.
Add this to your gemfile
gem "twitter-bootstrap-rails"
run
bundle install
run for simple css
rails generate bootstrap:install static
It should place relevant js and css files into your application.js and application.css files accordingly. (Read more about asset pipeline)
To get you started, in the gem's link under section - "Generating layouts and views", you can see rake tasks to generate sample layouts.
e.g.
rails g bootstrap:layout application fixed
You should now have a twitter-bootstraped application.html.erb file under views/layouts.
To answer the question in the title, you can locate your gems by running gem env in the console. That will give you the specific information about your "RubyGems Environment:" When you run gem install some_gem_name it will add this gem to your system.
However, what it sounds like your trying to do is add a gem to your app. If this is the case you add gems to a rails application's Gemfile.
So using your example, you'd locate your Gemfile and add the following:
gem "bootstrapped-rails", "~> 2.0.8.5"
Once that's done, you run bundle install in your terminal.
I find that a good resource for basic rails information can be found here: http://guides.rubyonrails.org/getting_started.html
The tutorial is short and it will give you a great starting point.

spree_i18n integration

I'm trying to get the spree_i18n gem working, but am not quite getting it.
I've added this to the Gemfile:
gem 'spree_i18n', :git => 'git://github.com/spree/spree_i18n.git'
I'm using RVM, so bundle installed it to:
~/.rvm/gems/ruby-1.9.3-p125#spree/bundler/gems/spree_i18n-e5e3e189c843
instead of the usual location at:
~/.rvm/gems/ruby-1.9.3-p125#spree/gems/
so I'm not sure if RVM is doing something weird.
But running any of the rake spree_i18n:xxx commands results in the following error:
'Don't know how to build task 'spree_i18n:new'
I'm guessing it's because the gem isn't getting picked up by rake and the app. I was thinking that the app should have picked up on the .yml translation files from the gem folder so I would not need to copy them over to the main app folder.
As a quick fix, I copied over the .yml files from the gem folder to the app config/locales folder. It works but definitely feels like a hack.
Can someone please point me in the right direction to integrate this gem correctly?
I've also posted the question here, in case, there's additional information that might help to solve this.

Unable to generate friendly_id from gem

I'm trying to use Friendly ID to handle slugs in my Rails app. When I run "rails generate friendly_id", I get the following error:
/usr/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/activesupport-3.0.3/lib/active_support/dependencies.rb:239:in `require': no such file to load -- babosa (LoadError)
However, the babosa gem is definitely installed.
How can I even begin to solve this?
I was able to fix the problem by installing Bundler and adding the following lines to "Gemfile" in the root of my app:
gem 'babosa'
gem 'friendly_id'
I've not seen this problem myself, but have you tried the Google Group for the gem? It looks like that's the author's preferred communication method, and he looks to be fairly responsive there.
