How to restore the file type association in iOS - ios

Some of you may have tried an App named Phone Drive, it took over the file type like mp3, pdf etc.
But what if I want to restore the association to the default app?
For example, previously when I opened a link to mp3 in Safari, Safari plays it. But when I am using Phone Drive, I need to download it in that App and play it later.
Any suggestion?
Please ignore the below one. iOS doesn't support wma....
Some of you may have tried an App named Phone Drive, it took over the file type like wma, pdf etc.
Originally, when I clicked a link to wma file in Safari, it is opened in a player embed in the web page.
However, after I installed and removed that App, when I tap on the same link, Safari pops out an alert says it can not download the link.
Any solution? Thank you.

Uploaded verified local fXL epubs don't open in Google play books

My fixed layout epub is verified with epubcheck-4.0.1: no errors, no warnings. On ibooks and Readium: no problems at all.
I upload the file to my google play books library on Chrome, Firefox, safari. The epub doesn't open and gets stuck with "Processing..." keeping displayed.
Now, I 'buy" a free fixed epub from the google play books store. The epub opens. I downloaded the epub. Upload it again. Now it doesn't open any more. Message: "This book cannot be opened
This book contains content that is not yet supported in your browser."
I try the same procedure on an Android device. Same behavior.
I am stuck and would be grateful to have a few hints to move from this gridlock.
This is not possible to read a local epub on the playbook reader within a browser. The native play books reader must be installed instead.

Handle local files in default iOS application

I have files that are stored in the Document directory. The url scheme for them is file:/// and so on. Is there a way to handle such files with appropriate default app. Lets say I have a video file there and instead of handling play in my app, it opens in the default iOS app for video playback. Or maybe I have a doc file and it should open in MS Word if it is installed.
What I tried is this. It did not work. I believe the openURL method depends on the URL scheme which is always file:/// in this case. Even if I know what type of file it is, how do I go about opening it in default outside application.
What I did was use UIDocumentInteractionController.
You can preview and choose to open in other app. Or you can just open.
It works for documents, video and probably audio(not tested) files. The preview player for the video is not that great.
For a demo tuts.plus.

Automatically check for iPad app when downloading specific file type from website?

I think I already know the answer to this ("can't be done"), but I figured I'd see what people think...
On my client's website they're posting files for download that specifically need to be viewed on iPads using the Cadwork Viewer app:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/cadwork-viewer/id505161598?mt=8
You can't open the file on an iPad unless you have that app, and I'm wondering if when clicking on the file to initiate download if there's a way to scan the device to see if Cadwork Viewer is already installed. If so, proceed with the download of the file. If not, pop up a notice "This file requires the Cadwork Viewer app, download it here from iTunes." Something like that.
Again, I think this is just not doable, but hey...there's all sorts of things I don't know!
Thoughts?
Check out this link: https://developer.apple.com/library/ios/documentation/AppleApplications/Reference/SafariWebContent/PromotingAppswithAppBanners/PromotingAppswithAppBanners.html
You can add a banner to the mobile site that lets you open the app from Safari.
Explanation from Apple:
If the app is already installed on a user's device, the banner
intelligently changes its action, and tapping the banner will simply
open the app. If the user doesn’t have your app on his device, tapping
on the banner will take him to the app’s entry in the App Store.
This should be a good starting place.

How to export downloaded audio file(from within app folder) to user accessible music folder in IOS

I am using Xamarin to develop an IOS app. Here the user has an option to download audio files to the document folder within the app, and play it later on.
But i would like to provide an option for the user to access it in music folder or somewhere else, so that user does not have to come back to app to listen it.
Like we save images to camera roll, can we save mp3 or any other audio file to default music folder in IOS. Any solution or ideas using xamarin or xcode are welcome.
Note: I already know about File Sharing with itunes, i am looking for something else explained above.
As I know this isn't possible due to the limitations within iOS

What Apple stock apps allow exported UTIs?

Using this guide, I made it so that my app is able to open jpeg's and pngs by clicking the "Open in (my app)" button.
This works say, when I open a photo in the messages app and click share. But, I can't seem to get it to work anywhere else. My app doesn't pop up in photos, or mail.
So my question is, am I doing something wrong or is messages the only app that supports exporting files? If not, which apps do? Is there a list?
Thanks,
Gabe
