I have two seperate clean installations of Umbraco 4.5.x and both are having similar problems with page handling. If I browse pages by ID like /1083.aspx the page displays correctly, but if I try to browse by name like /about-us.aspx it gives 404 - file or directory not found.
Thanks in advance.
Sanjay
Sanjay,
This is because when you're hunting for root content nodes, the umbracoHideTopLevelNodeFromPath appSetting in the web.config is set to true by default.
As the name might imply, this hides the top-level node from the URL path. You can set it to "false" to override this behaviour.

I'm new to Laravel (using 5.6) and can't get my links to work.
My directory structure is: resources/views/pages/samples
In the samples directory, I have 10 blade files I want to link to (named "sample1.blade.php", etc.). I have a "master" links page in the pages directory (one level up from samples).
I've tried the following but can't get any of them to work correctly...
Sample 1
Sample 1
Sample 1
Sample 1
...and a few other variations.
I've also tried adding a base tag to the HTML header but that doesn't help.
Every time I click a link, it says "Sorry, the page you are looking for could not be found."
What am I missing?
Thanks #happymacarts, I didn't realize I had to add a path for every single page in my site.
After adding the paths, the links are working.
I will get into the practice of updating the paths every time I add a page.
I added to SwaggerConfig.cs this string
c.CustomAsset("index", thisAssembly, "Table.Web.CustomContent.index.html");
...than I run the application, go to swagger docs and get error:
An error has occurred.
Embedded resource not found - Table.Web.CustomContent.index.html
Swashbuckle.SwaggerUi.AssetNotFound
The build action property of the index.html was set to embedded resource
What should I do to fix it?
I struggled with this for a while today in a ASP.NET C# project and finally resolved it by cobbling together a few different resources.
First (as noted in the Swagger comments), the item must be marked as an Embedded Resource by right-clicking the item in the solution explorer and going to Properties, and selecting Embedded Resource from the Build Action dropdown.
Second, the logical name can be tricky to identify. In my case, a dash in a directory name was being converted to an underscore once embedded, leading to lots of hair-pulling (hair_pulling?). The easiest way to get the true logical path is to get it from the Build Output window.
Go to Tools => Options
Expand the Projects and Solutions sidebar item and click Build and Run
Set the MSBuild Output to Detailed.
Clean the solution and rebuild, opening the Output window if necessary.
The output log should unambiguously state the true logical name of the file with a line like...
Resource file 'swagger-ui\SwaggerUiStyle.css' gets manifest resource name 'MySolutionName.swagger_ui.SwaggerUiStyle.css'
(credit to #bkwdesign for his excellent explanation on this part)
I'm working on prestashop and I'm Trying to override "order detail page" in front (customer's details orders).
This is how I did :
I copied file \controllers\front\OrderDetailController.php into folder \override\controllers\front\OrderDetailController.php
I copied also default template file order-detail.tpl into folder override/customtemplate/order-detail.tpl
And In OrderDetailController.php I have specified template directory like that
$this->setTemplate(_PS_OVERRIDE_DIR_ . '/themes/parfum_evo/order-detail.tpl');
I tried, it works fine except translations. Even watching the documentation, no test solution seems to work.
Could anyone help me? Thank you in advance :'(
The php override sits in the correct place. As for the other, you specified the path the override/customtemplate/order-detail.tpl but then placed it in override/themes/parfum_evo/order-detail.tpl. I take it as customtemplate is farfum_evo really, but you need to add another one named themes, after override, using that structure. I think. Because there is a hook named
DisplayOverrideTemplate
Which should take care of this, while I believe setTemplate for controllers will always grab from the main theme folder
I have this piece of code in a .cs file in an ASP.NET MVC application:
HtmlTableCell r2c1 = new HtmlTableCell();
r2.Cells.Add(r2c1);
r2c1.ColSpan = 2;
r2c1.Style.Add("font", "1px arial");
r2c1.Style.Add("height", "10px");
r2c1.Style.Add("background-image", "url(/Content/Images/pagebgbottomwhite.jpg)");
r2c1.Style.Add("background-repeat", "repeat-x");
This works OK locally, but when I deploy my app using IIS 5 I don't see that picture.
How can I change that format of the URL so I can see it?
First off, you don't really want to have this kind of code in your presenter.
As for URL format, try Server.MapPath("~/Content/Images/pagebgbottomwhite.jpg");. And ensure that this file is indeed where it should be.
You really ought to be using CSS and defining a class that has these attributes. The url would then be relative to the location of the CSS file in the site: url(../Images/pagebgbottomwhite.jpg) -- assuming that your css file is in a sibling directory to Images. Then you would apply the CSS class to your element.
I also agree with Anton that, using MVC, this code should not be in your controllers/models, but rather in the view -- in which case you would not be using HtmlTableCell. In that case, and using pure CSS, it's simply a matter of creating the proper row in the table.
<tr><td class="bottom-row" colspan="2"></td></tr>
Confirm that this file (/Content/Images/pagebgbottomwhite.jpg) is deployed. Is it set not to copy or was it left behind in deployment.
Is there a variable where I can find out the root directory of my Grails application?
for example, I have a folder named chart under \%root%\web-app\images\ where I put my charts in. Once I deploy my Grails application on Jetty, I will get FileNotFoundException because the root path becomes /srv/www/vhosts/domain-name/jetty-version/
I would like to know if there is a variable that returns the root path (like /srv/www/vhosts/domain-name/jetty-version/webapps/myapp), and there should be because CSS uses relative path just fine.
solved.
request.getSession().getServletContext().getRealPath("/")
this actually gives me the path to where my application puts the images, css, WEB-INF, etc. folders.
System.properties['base.dir']
I know it is an old question, but this could work if you are not in an http request:
ServletContextHolder.servletContext.getRealPath('/')
If you want to establish this is GSPs try this:
${createLink(uri: '/')}
