Is it possible to simply get the twitter posts done by a particular user into an application with simple http requests without logging in. As xml or json format.
what I want to do is I want to get my twitter feeds as xml or json with a request, is it possible to do that.
Could someone post example http request if its possible to do so.

As long as the user is not protected you can do it with this api call:

you will pass an "id" parameter of the user_id or screen name of the public twitter user.

Simply put, you can't. Our API is RESTful and does not allow this type of behavior. If we document an endpoint, like uploading a video, as POST, you can only do that with a POST.

In sum: GET requests should be idempotent by definition. By defining a GET request to perform some action on the backend, you may run into issues with browsers that preload content based on page links. A sample manifestation of this would be a garage door opening whenever one opens a particular tab in Google Chrome.
Would not recommend ever having a GET perform an action on the BE.
LinkedIn api provides access token to use it in url to post a message which uses oauth2 in Rest client. So by using the url in my application, i can post the message.
Twitter api uses oauth1 to tweet by accepting parameter.But the problem is timestamp,nounce,oauth_signature parameters gets auto generated and keep on changing for every request in Rest client.Here url is not sufficient to tweet, it need parameters but 3 parameters keep on changing on Rest client.
I tried to pass every parameter in url, it throws
error: code 32, could not authenticate you
i am dependent only on url to send a tweet.My application supports parameters too but three parameters are auto generating.I cant auto generate bcz i am hardcoding it in my application.
Is there any solution to tweet by using url?

By definition the nonce is a number only used once, and shouldn't be hardcoded. The timestamp also should reflect the current time on each request.

Using MVC4, I would like to get the recent Tweets (3) of user's without having to request access from them, because that is a pain for the user. This is also because a user may be viewing another user and I would also like to display their Tweets.
This was fairly simple with Twitter API v1:

I'm new to Oauth and have struggled to find any good material on how to get a user's Tweets, but I believe the process is a lot more complicated now with the Twitter API v1.1? Ideally, I'd like to achieve everthing in the front end, but think that I now need to do some authentication server side and will have to use MVC?
In order to get any user's Tweets, I was thinking that I could create a Twitter account for my application and use that to get anyone's Tweets, as long as they are not protected.
Does anyone know of any good libraries that I can use to achieve this, or is the out of the box MVC4 Oauth stuff alone enough to do the job?
Any suggestions of where to start, and especially examples would be greatly appreciated.
To use API 1.1, you have to have a Twitter account and a Twitter application and then use OAUTH to authenticate your rate limited requests using GET statuses/show/:id. The only alternative I know is RSS which both Twitter & Facebook have kiiled, briught back and threatened to kill again:

I decided to use Linq2Twitter, as this makes use of the V1.1 API.
An MVCDemo example of Linq2Twitter stores the authorised credentials in a SessionStateCredentials object, but I can store the object in cache and persist the authorisation for all users, meaning they won't have to authorise anything. Provided that a user's Tweets aren't protected, the Tweet's for any user should be retrievable this way.
I've been trying to get Rails to play with the new Facebook Graph API. After I get the authorization "code", I need to send another request which returns the access token in JSON form.
It seems to work fine, however I want to fetch the access token JSON without redirecting the user. I'm attempting to use Net::HTTP.get, but I'm not sure how to use it to get a request body, or even if it's the right thing to use to begin with.
Can anyone give an example of performing an HTTP GET?
I've figured out how to do this, the problem was mainly with the fact that I needed an HTTPS connection.

Anyone specifically trying to use the Graph API, note that the value stored in #access_token is in the form of a params string, e.g. "access_token=xxxx&expires=1234".
I got around needing to parse this by just redirecting to another page and using that as the URL params, but there's probably a better way to do this.

However please note that it means that server have to be log onto facebook - while if browser is redirecting it is user who have to be log into server. Hence did your server set the permission?
You can pretend that you are the user. Bad Horrible idea (you have to store passwords in cleartext on you server).
You can use OAuth. Hence you should use OAuth gem instead of Net::HTTP. You will not avoid the redirection - it is part of authorisation process and user must say that he allows to access data (imagine what would be if anyone could access anyone data on facebook). Turorial on writing OAuth clients in rails.
