sifr clipping when using filters - sifr

The left hand side of the replaced text is being clipped by a few pixels, and I can't figure it out. The only thing that seems to solve the problem is setting everything to text-align: center, but that's obviously very impractical. Not sure what I've done wrong as I can't find any reports of a similar problem.
I'm using Glow and DropShadow filters, the problem persists if any of them are used independently from the other.
Any ideas? Thanks.

You can use the offsetLeft parameter to move the text to the right, and if necessary use tuneWidth to make the movie wider.
offsetTop and tuneHeight do the same for the vertical axis, and you can use negative values.

PaintCode, How to add a frame around a portion of a vector and have it dynamically resize?

I've imported a vector layer from a psd into paint code v1, I'm trying to create a background image and make it universal.
I can't seem to add a frame around the vector, to complicate matters, I only need a portion, the center, of the layer. (The design is based around a circle, it has lines drawn towards the center of the circle.)
I can’t seem to add a frame to dynamically resize the part I need.
I found this http://www.raywenderlich.com/36341/paintcode-tutorial-dynamic-buttons the part about frame ans groups doesn't help me....
When I add a click frame and drag it around the area I need, it's at the same level as the vector layer. I've also tried adding a group around both, but that doesn't seem to obey the frame size either.
I’ve looked through the tutorials and googled adding a frame, but I can’t seem to achieve what I need.

A frame is supposed to be at the same level as the vectors you're working with.
All you do then is set the resize rules of your vectors. There is a little rectangle in the frame's parameters interface with straight arrows and springs that you can modify to fit your wishes.
I think I also remember a checkbox setting to resize only what's inside the frame.
Now I haven't used PaintCode for a while, but if this doesn't help you, there probably is a problem with your vector layer.

But if you resizing doesn't work as you expected. Look carefully at the transformation box (the one with the springs attached). When you have put a frame around your object. The middle dot in this box should be blue instead of green. if t's green, you may have a problem with the originating point of your objects and then the resizing may not work as you expected.

Square Cash Label Animation

Does anyone know how Square Cash animates their label?
The label does two things, appears to resize to fit the numbers on screen like SizeToFit might, but I don't believe that you can animate based on SizeToFit.
Secondly, numbers that disappear seem to animate downwards and disappear. Numbers that are entered animate down from above. That doesn't seem too tricky, but the comma does it too when we go from 4 digits to 5 digits!
I coded something similar and yes, it is very tricky to make it perfect.
It may help you to know that I used collection views. Then you can customise cell/layout transitions.

It would be helpful if you posted a short video so we could see the animation you are talking about.
Based on your description, I'm guessing that they build the full number themselves by putting a single digit/symbol on a layer (or view) and then animating each character separately.
If you have a separate tile for each symbol it is pretty easy to change the size of the previous tiles to make room for a new tile, and animate a new number tile down at the same time. You could do the animation with UIView animation or with a set of coordinated CABasicAnimations.

Trim and find position of result with rmagick

I'm working on a jigsaw puzzle webapp, and one of the requirements is automatically generating puzzle pieces from any image. I'm using RMagick for the image processing. I've got some sets of blank puzzle pieces to use as masks, and I can handle that part, but then I need to trim the whitespace (er, transparentspace) out of the resulting images.
Now, I know I can use trim for this - I might have to put a one-pixel border on it to make sure all four corners are the right color, but that's easy and I can just subtract one pixel from the final number. The only problem is that I also need to record the position of the piece. According to the documentation on trim, the function will "retain the offset information", which sounds like exactly what I need. But I can't find anything about how to retrieve the offset information! Does anyone know how to do that?
If worst comes to worst, I suppose I could always just look through pixel-by-pixel, find the boundaries myself, and use crop to trim the picture, but that wouldn't exactly be good for performance.
Aha, found it. image.page.x and image.page.y give the upper left corner, and then image.rows and image.columns have the height and width.

Prob when rotating an uiimageview

When I am working with uiimageview, I want to rotate it with a small angle, and I did. But, in the border of uiimageview after rotating appears spikes, like a saw. I do not know why and try to fix it but I cant. Please help me.
Couple of options..
1) If you are using Core Graphics functions to rotate you can enable anti alias options
CGContextSetAllowsAntialiasing(context, true);
CGContextSetShouldAntialias(context, true);
2) Add a 1 pixel transparent border to the your image on all 4 sides.
One more thing, there is a technical term to the spikes you saw and it is aliasing. And the techniques to prevent aliasing are called anti aliasing techniques. Hope this helps.
Thanks all you guys :) My friend showed me another way to fix it. I think this way is better than using transparent border trick. He changed an attribute in info plist file, that is "Renders with edge antialisasing", to YES. And everything becomes okay :). I hope it will help someone get a same prob with me :)
Take a UIView as subView and Place UIImageView on subView.
Keep the size of subView and UIImageView Same.
Now, Use "UIViewAnimationTransitionFlipFromRight" or "UIViewAnimationTransitionFlipFromLeft" with Timer.
What you can do easily is to add a 1px transparent border around your image. So if your image is, let's say, 50x50 pixels you need to make it 52x52 such that the outer pixels are transparent. When you will rotate it should look fine now.

text blurry when using label component on AS3

I have a problem when dealing with label component on AS3. The text was blurry on one application but not on the other. I have used the same code when dealing with the label component except the one with clear text used scaling to scale the label component and not being used on the other.
Is there because the scale that cause the problem?
Not sure if its scaling but it seems Z-Index causes the issue.
I fixed it by removing my x and z values (you may also consider removing y). In my case layout was relative with no layers, so these values were useless.
