after having huge trouble to get influxdb on my debian buster machine I can't really use it.
I think using the api with curl works but the CLI doesn't. I constantly get errors.
Now I checked the installed versions and I got curios:
influx version Influx CLI 2.6.1 (git: 61c5b4d) build_date: 2022-12-29T15:41:09Z
curl -sL -I localhost:8086/ping HTTP/1.1 204 No Content Content-Type: application/json Request-Id: 50b0d340-a178-11ed-8006-2a540f76a673 X-Influxdb-Build: OSS X-Influxdb-Version: 1.8.10 X-Request-Id: 50b0d340-a178-11ed-8006-2a540f76a673 Date: Tue, 31 Jan 2023 15:02:44 GMT
I tried to remove the influxdb-client but it is not event installed. When I try to install it I get an error:
Unpacking influxdb-client (1.6.4-1+deb10u1) ... dpkg: error processing archive /var/cache/apt/archives/influxdb-client_1.6.4-1+deb10u1_amd64.deb (--unpack): trying to overwrite '/usr/bin/influx', which is also in package influxdb 1.8.10-1 dpkg-deb: error: paste subprocess was killed by signal (Broken pipe) Errors were encountered while processing: /var/cache/apt/archives/influxdb-client_1.6.4-1+deb10u1_amd64.deb E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
How to ged rid of this and install the correct version?
sudo dpkg-query -l | grep influx* Binary file influxd matches Binary file influx_inspect matches Binary file influx_stress matches
Thanks in advance
Matthias

I've tried many things, but I haven't found an answer yet.
If anyone has experienced or solved a similar phenomenon, could you tell me how to solve it?
① I deleted the package and reinstalled it, ② deleted the apt or dpkg cache, and tried to reinstall it, but the same error continues to appear.
In addition, ③ the same error occurs when performing the same operation after rebooting, and if force the Jenkins service to start while installed as above, java accounts for 99% of the CPU and waits indefinitely as shown.
As CPU occupancy continues, Jenkins moves to Bad Message 431.
My internet has interference so brew installation procedure may failure sometimes.

I manage to got that file, but I don't known the correct filename for brew.
brew --cache openjdk--patch

brew --cache -s openjdk

So how to got the correct filename for this patch?
I found the tricky, just run
brew install package-name -d
it will print each cache name of resources used by package-name

yum clean packages #clean packages from failed install
dnf install https://download.docker.com/linux/centos/7/x86_64/stable/Packages/containerd.io-1.2.6-3.3.el7.x86_64.rpm #install newest containerd manually
sudo yum install docker-ce docker-ce-cli #install Docker daemon and CLI

I'm trying to get Docker installed on a machine with Debian 8 (Jessie), but I always seem to run into errors no matter what I try.
Using these instructions: https://docs.docker.com/install/linux/docker-ce/debian

I also tried installing directly from a package: https://download.docker.com/linux/debian/dists/jessie/pool/stable/amd64/
(Selecting version 17.03.2)
And after installing the dependencies, things still don't work:
sudo dpkg --install docker-ce_17.03.2_ce-0_debian-jessie_amd64.deb

I also looked at this article: http://www.boynux.com/docker-jessie/
But I didn't even get past the first step:

Either your platform is not easily detectable or is not supported by this
installer script.
Please visit the following URL for more detailed installation instructions:
https://docs.docker.com/engine/installation/
Between every one of these attempts I did a
sudo apt-get remove docker docker-engine docker.io docker-ce
sudo apt-get update
docker-ce isn't available for i686
see OS requirements
Docker CE is supported on both x86_64 (or amd64) and armhf architectures for Jessie and Stretch.

You should uninstall macports... homebrew and macports don't mix well. issue the command from the terminal:
$ sudo port -fp uninstall installed
http://guide.macports.org/chunked/installing.macports.uninstalling.html
You may also need to clean up homebrew
$ brew cleanup
Then you should be able to install via homebrew.
