Is it ok to do the indentation in. json file in xcode? - ios

I was forced do some change in .json config file in xcode. I was not able to do it since i cant identify the start and end of a key vlue pair. So i copied the entire text in json file clicked validate JSON in https://jsonlint.com. Did the changes and copied back.
As i expected in git it is showing the change as earlier it was one line but now in multiple line.
WIll this method going to cause any issue like to read value form JSON for the library classes ?

HttpContent.ReadAsMultipartAsync leaves behind a temporary file

I'm starting to go loopy on this one, which normally means I'm missing something obvious.
I have the following code in my .NET MVC controller:
var provider = new CustomMultipartFileStreamProvider("prefix", GetRepositoryTempFolder());
await request.Content.ReadAsMultipartAsync(provider);
The CustomMultipartFileStreamProvider inherits from MultipartFileStreamProvider, overrides the GetLocalFileName method and returns an appropriate file name for a given ContentDisposition header. The HttpContent handled is normally a PDF file and a small JSON settings component.
Everything works wonderfully as far as getting the parts parsed, extracted and saved in the expected location. However, after parsing I end up with a temporary file left over in my C:\Windows\Temp folder. The file has a randomly generated name (e.g. zf0hk2h4.ks2). It has the same size and creation date as the PDF portion parsed and saved by ReadAsMultipartAsync.
I believe ReadAsMultipartAsync uses this temporary file during parsing and leaves it behind. Has anyone else experienced this? Any way I can prevent ReadAsMultipartAsync from leaving this temporary file behind and clogging up the Windows temp folder?
My apologies; I was missing something. The file was being moved after processing. This is an invalid question; there is nothing wrong with ReadAsMultipartAsync.

How to merge multiple plist files into one?

Just to start, I really have no idea what Im doing. I was given this task for an internship, and am really learning as I go. I have multiple plist files, they consist of around 22 items each, and list values of colors. I need to merge all of these files into one, and am really not sure how to go about it. I have a certain structure I need to go by, and really Im not sure how to go about it. I was told to open the plists in texteditor and then paste all of the raw code into one text file, this doesn't seem to work as I only end up getting the values for the first plist I pasted into the text file. Any help would be nice. Thanks.
Assume your from.plist contains keys 1, 2 and to.plist contains 2, 3
Run this:
/usr/libexec/PlistBuddy -x -c "Merge from.plist" to.plist
to.plist will contain 1, 2, 3
There are a number of ways to handle this. By default a plist is a special form of XML file. If you figure out the syntax you can in fact use a text editor to merge the contents of multiple files together, but you need to make sure you get it right.
A plist file has a specific header for the entire file. You could not just copy/paste multiple plists together because then they would have that header repeated.
The next way to do it is programmatically. If you can figure out the type of outer collection these files contain (probably an array or a dictionary) then you could write a few lines of code that read in each of the plists as arrays, combines them using NSArray code (assuming they contain arrays of colors) and then save the combined array back to a new plist. As vadian says you can also use the NSPropertyListSerialization class. Thats a more general-pupose way of handling plist files, but it's also more complex and harder to figure out.
A third way to do it is in Xcode. If you right-click on a plist file and select "open in Xcode" it should give you Xcode's property list editor. You can then copy and paste the contents of the files together and save the results to a new file.
I figured it out!! First create the structure, or use the template given to you. I suggest opening this template/ structure in Xcode, as it makes it easier to switch between viewing the list as a plist and source code. Open your template as a source code. Then open each of your plists in text editor, and copy and paste the code from your plists into the appropriate area in your templates source code, then you can view it in Xcode as a property list to make sure it's correct. The only thing you have to be careful about here is making sure you are getting no errors. Otherwise this works great!!

how to overwrite, or delete the file, used by writefile() calls?

I use the following to save screen output to a file
writefile("file.txt"),
tex(expression),
closefile()
The above sends the output of the tex() to the file automatically. which is all and well and what I want. (side-point: It also sends an annoying NIL line each time to the file, which I had to parse put later).
Now, when running the above code again, the file is appended to, which is not what I want. I want to either overwrite the file each time, or if there is a way to delete the file, so I can call delete on it before.
I looked at help and not able to find a command to delete a file, and I also see no option to tell writefile() to overwrite the file?
Is there an option or way around this? I am on windows 7, Maxima version: 5.36.1
Lisp: SBCL 1.2.7
I guess you are trying to capture the output of tex into a file. If so, here are a couple of other ways to do it:
tex (expr, destination);
where destination is either a file name (which is appended) or a stream, as created by opena or openw and closed by close. By the way, destination could be false, in which case tex returns a string.
with_stdout (destination, tex (expr));
where again destination is either a file name (which is appended or clobbered, as determined by the global flag file_output_append) or a stream.
with_stdout could be useful if you want to mix in some output not generated by tex, e.g., print("% some commentary");.

Delphi overwrite file and wrong modified date time

I'd like to get a file last modified time in Delphi.
Normally something like FileAge() would do the trick, only the problem is: if I overwrite *File A* with File B using CopyFile, File A's modified date is not updated with current overwrite time as it should(?)
I get that: CopyFile also copy file attributes, but I really need to get the modified date that also works when a file is overwritten.
Is there such function? My whole application relies on modification time to decide whether or not I should proceed with files!
EDIT Just to clarify: I'm only monitoring the files. It's not my application who's modifying them.
The documentation for CopyFile says:
File attributes for the existing file are copied to the new file.
Which means that you cannot use base your program on the last modified attribute of the file, or indeed any attribute of the file. Indeed there are all sorts of ways for the last modified attribute of the file to change. It can in fact go backwards in time.
Instead I suggest that you use ReadDirectoryChangesW to keep track of modifications. That will allow you to receive notifications whenever a file is modified. You can write your program in an event based manner based on the ReadDirectoryChangesW API.
If you can't use ReadDirectoryChangesW and the file attributes, then you'll have to base your decisions on the contents of the file.

‘Cannot modify header information’ at the very first line

I'm getting this very weird error. I call it weird because the full error is
Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at [...]/user.php:1)
As you can see it says that the first line of the script prints something, therefore the header is already sent. The point is that the script is:
<?php
class User extends AppModel {
And nothing more! Not even a space or anything else.
I can't really understand what's wrong with it.
Additional information
The point is that the script works without any problem in my local webserver but not when I upload it to my hosting server.
I ran a shell script on my whole folder (with all my script) too look for whitespace at the beginning or at the end of the pages, but nothing was found.
In your code editor, save the file without BOM.
