MP drivers for Cannon Pixma 2550s will not install no matter what I try - printing

I have just bought a new Cannon printer, and when I try to install it using the CD, it just comes up with "failure to install MP drivers". I have tried uninstalling, restarting computer, unplugging/plugging in printer etc and nothing has worked. The manual is awful and doesn't give advice on how to fix, only the above methods which does not work. When I look online it seems to be basically impossible to find anything to do with a fix for this printer. I can't even find the printer listed on the Cannon website it is that ridiculous. I can't even find a driver to download on the internet for this printer, I seriously feel as though I just wasted £40 on this piece of crap. Any help would be appreciated thank you.

Is a corrupted screen the result of bad graphic drivers?

Using Blender 2.82a I encountered this screen glitch:
But I had a similar issue with Photoshop 2020 where the GUI had similar glitches. And lastly, Minecraft with the SevTech Ages modpack. This doesn't happen with other software (Firefox, Excel, VSC, Sublime Text, WSL). This makes me think it's should be a graphic drivers issue. I uninstalled the NVIDIA drivers and left Windows reinstall them. I didn't encounter the issue again yet. Can anyone confirm this is a bad drivers issue? I couldn't find much information online (or didn't know what to search for).
I cannot assuredly say that this is a driver problem, but the same happened with me with my old PC. My old PC was very low-end. It was very slow in Blender, but got the work done. To make my PC faster, I saw a youtube tutorial which showed that going to System > advanced system options > graphics and switching off all 'fancy' features will make your PC faster. Doing this resulted in the same glitches in blender and inkscape, but got fixed by switching those options bak to what they were before.

DelphiXE7: Where''s the WinAPI help topics?

Hello I just finally buy the newest Delphi after many years using older version or free pascal. Everything seem to work as expected except when I look the help I can't find winapi or opengl topics like i could in old version.
Do I need to install something special so I can press f1 over for example "messagebox" or "sleep" or "glcolor" or whatever because I install delphi xe7 3 times now but there is only "Install Help" option during install and no other help option I can see.
A while ago I had tried to fix this annoying change from how it was to limited success. What I had done was:
- install the documentation part of "Windows 7 SDK with .net 3.5" (won't work with any later SDK installs since they changed help format)
- install a program from helpware called FAR
- in program FAR, choose H2 UTILS, then select "embarcadero.rs_xe7", then click register
- go to plugins and add WIN7SDKCOM
That was it, with that done both the table of contents and index of delphi help contained the whole windows 7 documentation. HOWEVER! There was a problem, and it was that many (most?) winapi F1 context sensitive help didn't work, it still took me to the standard delphi help page that said to go to MSDN even though if i went to the index i would immediately find the topic.
So, imperfect answer that I'm relaying from memory since I reinstalled that computer and didn't add the win7sdk this time. Hopefully it helps, I know I was happy to have easier offline access to the documentation. Maybe someone can figure out the extra step to make F1 help also work completely.

arduino nano avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x00

I am trying to upload the blink sketch to a new arduino nano v3 (technically it is the iduino knockoff from geeetech) with atmega328 but I keep getting the infamous "avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x00" error... How can I avoid this error and get a successful upload?
Here is what I know:
1) I have installed the ftdi drivers according to the ftdi
instructions on the nano.
2) In the arduino IDE it recognizes the
com port. I have both correct port and correct board selected.
3) I shorted my Rx and Tx together and typed a string into my serial
monitor and received it back as I should have.
4) When I attempt to upload the blink sketch my L led flashes, the Rx pin blinks 3 times,
and then I get the error message and the modified version of the
sketch (I just extended the delay) doesn't go through.
5) This piece of information might be inconsequential but my nano is in a perpetual
state of blinking as if it had let me upload the sketch once... I did
try to upload the sketch before I installed the drivers.
I think that is all the relevant information but ask away if it is not. Thank you so much.
Thankfully I found that it was a simple dumb fix after all. I got out the magnifying glass and upon close inspection of my chip discovered that it was an atmega168 and not an atmega328 like I had originally thought it was.
funny coincidence, i found this article in hackaday.com:
"Frustrated with one of the greatest failures to become an Arduino
tinkerer, [psgarcha] took a good, long look at the Uno board. He
glanced over to an Arduino Mega board. Something looked different. On
the Uno, the resonator had blown off. Problem found, at least."
link
Hope your resonator didn't blew off.
Actually on windows platform this error is very often the only solution is to reinstall arduino driver
I am using Bhash Freeduino, what worked for me was
The Pro and Pro mini setting
AtMeta328
/dev/ttyUSB0

Why am i getting this error trying to compile an asp.net-mvc app using Parallels on my MacBook

I posted a question on the apple site but someone suggested that I might get a better response on stackoverflow directly since its a visual studio related issue.
I installed parallels on my macbook pro and i installed windows 7 iso via a DVD. at first everything looked fine exception now I am now trying to compile an asp.net-mvc app in visual studio and i get this error over and over
No matter what i click it will eventually progress but this is quite annoying. The same question was asked here but no good answer was given. It almost seems like it think it needs to depend on something from the DVD drive (which it shouldn't)
Can someone please explain why devenv.exe would need the ISO dvd to be connected to my laptop at this point?
after rebooting this problem seems to go away

vmware player install hangs? vista 32bit

Hi
I am a noob trying to setup my computer so i can make a social networking website.
Sorry if its not kosher to ask here, but Hopefully one of you smart guys can help me.
I want to test some CMS (content management systems), firstly Elgg and then some others.
As far as ive read i can do this by using a virtual machine like VMware Player.
Now originally i wanted to try out Insoshi so i tried to use Cygwin and GitBash (also Putty tools) to download it (with no success). This involved me installing those programs and also trying to get an ssh environment variable working. So i gaveup on that (seeing that Elgg has more support anyhow i thought id try to try that). I uninstalled these programs, deleted leftover directories and deleted the added environment variable.
I also uninstalled DaemonTools (cos i thought it may be conflicting).
Im running Windows Vista 32bit and have always downloaded relevant installs for that system.
My problem is the VMware Player installer isn't doing anything. I launch it and it seems to hang straight away see pic
Am i missing something here?
Vmware page also suggests a virtual appliance (for cloud stuff) which i dont know much about yet. And i think that appliance is installed via the player else an image loader like Daemon Tools. Do i need this appliance first?
Why is the player not installing?
Ive tried both 3.14 and 3.13 build with same result?
I have about 4 gig of space left on my hd and have 3gig of ram.
I have looked at the programs installed on my computer and cant seem to find anything else that might conflict (but i am a n00b) and i also tried pausing my kapersky pure protection. Any help is severely appreciated, thanks.
As I recall there were a couple of conflicts with vmware
A quick look through the vmware forums I see:
visualsvn
virtualPC (no surprise)
nvidia 270.18 beta driver
avg
I also remember there being talk on the forums about a specific executable name which caused issues, but Im struggling to remember what it was.
start regedit.exe
Browse to the following sub-key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\
You should see keys named 0, 1, 2, 3 and 4. In my case I had a folder named "L" before the 0.
Remove the key with "L" (actually it is "└", unicode #2514)
P.S. This is due to Microsoft screws up the registry Internet Zone settings in the registry. With the "└" key, it cause Javascript not to be called from an application.
Got it from here.
