Reaching out to anyone who may be able to help.
I have a set of printers (Zebra label printers) that keep on changing printing preferences even though they are saved and set on the server they are installed on.
These preferences are set in Printing Preferences as well as Printing Defaults via Printer Properties.
I can remove the printer and reinstall it via the driver, set those settings again to find them, later on, to be different.
The settings I want to retain are 4X6 in the above picture but they change themselves to USER in the above picture - also not sure where this USER setting is coming from.
Thanks!

In my application I want to use the live text option, but I have a conundrum, namely how exactly can I get the information if the user has the option enabled on the iPhone? I would not like the possibility of using this option to be visible for people who have this feature turned off.
I wanted to do a quick data pull, so I put the store in developer mode.
Now we are done and it does not show a switch to turn of developer mode. It only says to email support.
Is there another way to turn the store back on?
We are losing sales... 😔

I have recently discovered that an app that I am developing can run into issues if users have chosen that they want the apps storage location to be set to anything different from "Local Storage".
It seems that iOS11 allows any app that uses documents to change the Document Storage placement to any place, even if the app internally does not support iCloud storage, as a result I am getting bad reviews from frustrated users that are changing the default setting to iCloud (or some other cloud vendor) and then realizing that it does not work.
I would like to stop them from changing this setting as in my case it does not make any sense (you don't want to be constantly storing caches of temporary files on the cloud) but I can't seem to find a way to change this (it's an Apple Settings app thing) or at least check the value so I can inform about it's current setting.
Showing a message for all users regardless of what their setting is seems like an extreme solution, so I'd like to know if anyone has managed to find a way to either query the value or change it, any will do for me.
I'm working on a firefox addon and one thing i'm unsure on is how to remove user preferences related to my addon when the user uninstalls it. The preferences get set, and if the user uninstalls and reinstalls the preferences are all still there. Some settings also relate to a first time install, so that breaks if the user has installed it previously.
Is there something I can setup that will be called when a user uninstalls, or a process to remove preferences on uninstall?
Thanks!
You'll want to take a look at this page which shows you how to register an observer to get the right events. Note that it's not always 100% reliable, but there should be a way to do this in Firefox 3.7 (Gecko 1.9.3).
There is no way to do this. Addons are simply deleted off by the browser and not told that they will be uninstalled. You could provide a 'Restore Factory Settings' button somewhere on your add on GUI.
