We need to support and update the old but still perfectly working project written many years ago using Borland C++Builder 6 Personal. No new significant development is expected. Switching to RAD Studio is taking much more effort than just keep using the old stuff.
Is there any option to legally purchase Borland C++Builder or whatever, but register and keep using the old stuff?
Is there any option to legally purchase BCPP Builder or whatever but register and keep using the old stuff?
Not directly, no. The old products are long dead. They are no longer sold or supported.
However, if you purchase the latest RAD Studio version, you can get licenses for old versions, including C++Builder 6. See the following page for more details:

I am going to buy Delphi Tokyo because my company has XE2 and we need a fresh update. I see that Delphi tokyo has Linux support but I have 2 questions:
1) I have seen that I can make apps for linux ubuntu server. Does Delphi allow apps for ubuntu client lts as well?
2) Can delphi produce GUI? I mean firemonkey support for linux so that I can use buttons and so on. If not is it planned?
Thanks in advance
Currently, there isn't any native support for Linux client applications - however, third party client support is available via FmxLinux.

I have just finish a small delphi xe7 application, which need some dll file for working. How should i create the application installer .exe for installing such application in other pc?
I suggest you use Inno Setup, which is free, easy to use and can correctly handle all current OS's flavours.
I don't have XE7, so I'm not aware if there's an installation generator shiped with it or not. If not, I advise you to learn about InnoSetup. It's a free setup wizard generator, that has a scripting language similar to Pascal (PascalScript), so it's very welcoming to Delphi programmers. There's a lot of info about it around the net and its documentantion is complete and clear.

I've been using Delphi (Turbo Pascal before that) and have always been a windows guy. My wife bought me one of the new iPads for my birthday and I used it for the first time last night. Wow!... I had no idea how addicting that thing can be.
So, now I need to think about writing an app or two for this iPad. I'm guessing I need to upgrade from Delphi 2010 to Delphi XE2 and I'm looking for a good Delphi resource on development and distribution of iPad apps.
If you want to go the Delphi way you have to upgrade to XE2.
Google for (FireMonkey iOS).

Bob Swart has a course manual called 'Delphi XE2 native iPhone/iPad Development'. It is not free, I have no stocks in it, but I can recommend it.

I think to compile a program for an iPad, you either need Delphi Prism, which creates a .NET application that could be run in Mono, a cross platform .NET framework.
Or, if you want to write native code, I think you will need a MacBook to compile the last step and publish it to your iPad. I think there is no compiler included with Delphi XE2, that runs in Windows and creates an executable for the iPad. The compiler for iOS (the FreePascal compiler, which is shipped with Delphi 2) needs to run on a Mac.

In the past the Borland "no nonsense" license allowed one developer to do multiple installs.
I'm tempted to upgrade to Embarcadero RAD Studio XE, professional edition, but am worried about licensing restrictions, and whether it will allow me to work in the same way as before.
I downloaded a 30 day trial, and that will only allow one install, so I'm a bit concerned the upgrade would enforce a similar restriction.
I use a small and a large laptop and a PC and would like to install RAD Studio on all 3, as well as in VMs. I've posted a question asking about this on the vendor website, but there's no response yet, and I wonder if people could answer from their own experience please?
I'd also be interested to know if the upgrade will only run if there is an existing installation of an earlier product on the same machine.
Yes, you can legally install Rad Studio on more than one machine, as long as you are the only user. I'm specifically talking about the named user license.
Check the section titled "Installing the product on multiple machines" here.
Yes you can, and you do not need to have a previous version installed. I use it on several machines myself.

I've came across a code of couple projects from the Rails Rumble 2010 hosted on Github. But this is just a tiny percent of total amount of projects.
Is it possible to have a read-only copy of git repositories from all(or best) projects from Rails Rumble 2010?
P.S. I really tried to find an answer on official website
It's up to individual teams whether or not they open up their code.
