Using Instagram Basic Display API to get user's metadata - ios

I am currently working on an iOS-App where Instagram users can fetch their data, such as profile information and images and will be able to post. There are similar apps like Flume (https://flumeapp.com/) which are capable of accessing those features. I already managed to get the access token and fetch the basic user information.
As the Instagram Legacy API will be shut down soon, I am wondering how to fetch detailed user information, as the Basic Display API only lists fields for account type, id, username and media count (https://developers.facebook.com/docs/instagram-basic-display-api/reference/user#fields).
In both the Basic Display API as well as the Graph API it says that creating media is not supported.
Can anyone tell me how other apps (like Flume) are able to perform those actions? Are they perhaps still using the Instagram Legacy API?
Thanks!

ios 8 app facebook integration recommendation

I am developing an app for iOS8 (also back versions compatible) . I need to Log-in using Facebook and get photos and album information of the user. I was looking around the web and found terminology like "Parse Framework" and "Graph API"
Is Graph API the old way and Parse Framework the recommended latest way ?
do they both apply for photos retrieval from Facebook account ? I also need to use instagram Log-in and photos for the same app does that change the choice between using Graph or Parse ?.
I think you are totally unaware about the terminologies Parse & Graph api.
Is Graph API the old way and Parse Framework the recommended latest way ?
No
Parse is a baas(backend as service). Its a backend service that you will used to store your app data such as images, user data or anything something like sqlite database but its own cloud.
Graph api is facebook api service that you will used to get the graph data such as posts, friends etc. Even if you have used the parse as the backend you have to use the graph api to get the posts from fb.

IOS twitter feed tutorial

I am currently building an app where they require all their users to be able to view their feeds only.
I looked at a lot of tutorials online which talk about the new api v1.1 of twitter and now authentication is required at all times.
I see a lot of examples and even successfully followed several of them like
http://www.appcoda.com/ios-programming-101-integrate-twitter-and-facebook-sharing-in-ios-6/
I even saw a tutorial posted on the twitter dev page.Following all of these focused on a few key elements
Using ACAccount to retrieve the account settings of the current user
Using the SLRequest to encapsulate the HTTP request made to the twitter api
Retrieving the data in JSON format, parsing it and presenting it to the user
Well my question is, I do not want user specific feeds. It's like a company updates their twitter regularly, users using the app should get feeds regarding the company. So I was wondering if there was a way, the app provides some default or hard coded authentication information ?
Is there some sort of tutorial, library or anything out there to help me move in the correct direction ?
Thank You for your time and help.
Your going to want to implement the following API call to get that information:
https://dev.twitter.com/docs/api/1.1/get/statuses/user_timeline
Once your application is authorized you can make a call to,
https://dev.twitter.com/docs/api/1.1/get/statuses/MorleyGaelsGAA.json
That should give you the information you're looking for.

Twitter iOS image search by hashtag

I need to search images from a certain hashtag in twitter to my iOS 6 app. I am trying to code a query that retrieves a minimal size possible response.
So, I tried to use Twitpic, but the response is not good. it's outdated and incomplete. So, I went to the Twitter 1.0 API. The 1.1 is not good because it require user account in Twitter and a lot of my users don´t have it.
http://search.twitter.com/search.json?q=%23hashtag%20pic.twitter.com&rpp=100&include_entities=true&result_type=recent
Does have a better way to query images from twitter api? I only need the image urls, not the entire entities.
As Twitter and Instagram respond a big JSON, I decided to implement the logic in a server using PHP. My client send the hashtag and the server retrieve the image´s urls and send them this parameters and the next "page_id" from twitter and facebook.
It made the operation faster and more future friendly to my apps, besides avoid some "bad images".

Can I get a list of users who have authorized my Twitter app?

I'm trying to get a list of users who have authorized my Twitter application. I've tried checking the API docs, but there seems to be no twitter application specific APIs that I can find. I'm trying to avoid having to store these twitter user names myself, since the user list would be the exact same as Twitter's authorized user list and even handle deauthorized users for me.
No, there's no way to obtain this information from the Twitter API. If you're interested in keeping track of the users who are using your application, you'll need to track it yourself.

Using oAuth to retrieve tweets of a particular ID (equivalent to a page in facebook)

I need to know as to how to implement oAuth in an iphone application.
I have already gone through lot many posts but none of them shows as to How to retrieve tweets from a user profile (like we access facebook wallposts). I tried using an example named bengottlieb/Twitter-OAuth-iPhone but all it does is show the Login prompt and posts a sample Twit at my Twitter profile.
I need to make an application where
the user can view twits for a particular page (same as accessing the wall post for a Page)
Post tweets that will appear on his profile or if possible then also at the profile page for given ID
I was able to fetch the tweets for a particular id using http://search.twitter.com/search.json?ID but may be due to closing of Basic authentication it does not return to me tweets older than a specific time period.
The Twitter search API is not meant to retrieve the tweets from one particular user, even though it does seem to work (up to a certain point back in time). As far as I know the search API does not need authentication, so you're not in trouble regarding the deprecation of Basic authentication there.
To retrieve the tweets for a user, you need to retrieve their timeline. Be sure to use OAuth authentication, as indeed Basic authentication no longer works now.
Check out http://dev.twitter.com/ for more information. The API is documented quite well. You mention basic authentication, so perhaps you could start with http://dev.twitter.com/pages/basic_to_oauth to get you going?
