Can't render youtube embed iframe with rails 6 actiontext - ruby-on-rails

I have setup a custom embed model so I can add things like instagram or youtube embeds to actiontext content on my site. It's working correctly for instagram embeds, but not youtube.
As a reference, the youtube embed code I want to display is:
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/F0kgw25zjpc" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>
models/recipe.rb:
class Recipe < ApplicationRecord
has_rich_text :body
...
end
models/embed.rb:
class Embed < ApplicationRecord
include ActionText::Attachable
validates :content, presence: true # content is text in db
end
embeds/_embed.html.erb:
<div class="text-center">
<div class="d-inline-block h-100">
<%= embed.content.html_safe %>
</div>
</div>
views/recipes.show.html.erb (where I'm trying to actually display the content - #recipe.body is the actiontext):
<h1><%= #recipe.title %></h1>
<%= #recipe.body %>
I can see the youtube embed when editing the content (it shows in the trix editor), but when viewing the rendered content, nothing - I can see the surrounding divs so I know it's being added to the page, but no iFrame.
It's annoying because an instagram embed works fine - for reference the instagram embed looks something like:
<blockquote class="instagram-media" data-instgrm-captioned data-instgrm-permalink="https://www.instagram.com/p/B_AHNeYgHfr/?utm_source=ig_embed&utm_campaign=loading" data-instgrm-version="12" style=" background:#FFF; border:0; border-radius:3px; box-shadow:0 0 1px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.5),0 1px 10px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15); margin: 1px; max-width:540px; min-width:326px; padding:0; width:99.375%; width:-webkit-calc(100% - 2px); I have a feeling this is iframe related, as changing embeds/_embed.html.erb to:
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/F0kgw25zjpc" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>
renders nothing at all.

Ok, so I figured this one out. As suspected, it's an iframe (or more specifically a non-whitelisted tag) issue with Rails sanitization, not specifically ActionText rendering.
The solution is to append iframe to whitelisted tags like so:
config/initializers/html_sanitation.rb:
Rails::Html::WhiteListSanitizer.allowed_tags << "iframe"

In config/application.rb, add the following:
class Application < Rails::Application
# ...
config.to_prepare do
ActionText::ContentHelper.allowed_tags << 'iframe'
end
end

MSO Conditionals and ERB Tags

I'm trying to embedded ruby content in a MSO conditional in a mailer.html.erb in a rails server.
Because dosen't seem to work since href renders "www.example.com/edit/<%= #user[:id] %>/<%= #user[:reset_digest] %>" for mso.
<!--[if mso]>
<table width="100%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0" style="border-spacing: 0; border-collapse: collapse; mso-table-lspace:0pt; mso-table-rspace:0pt;">
<tr>
<td style="padding-right: 10px; padding-left: 10px; padding-top:10px; padding-bottom:10px;" align="center">
<v:roundrect xmlns:v="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:vml" xmlns:w="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:word" href="https://www.example.com/doctores/edit/<%= #user[:id] %>/<%= #user[:reset_digest] %>" style="height:42px; v-text-anchor:middle; width:170px;" arcsize="15%" strokecolor="#3AAEE0" fillcolor="#3AAEE0">
<w:anchorlock/>
<center style="color:#ffffff; font-family:'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size:16px;">
<![endif]-->
<a href="https://www.example.com/doctores/edit/<%= #user[:id] %>/<%= #user[:reset_digest] %>" target="_blank" style="display: inline-block;text-decoration: none;-webkit-text-size-adjust: none;text-align: center;color: #ffffff; background-color: #3AAEE0; border-radius: 6px; -webkit-border-radius: 6px; -moz-border-radius: 6px; max-width: 150px; width: 110px; width: auto; border-top: 0px solid transparent; border-right: 0px solid transparent; border-bottom: 0px solid transparent; border-left: 0px solid transparent; padding-top: 5px; padding-right: 20px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-left: 20px; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;mso-border-alt: none">
<span style="font-size:12px;line-height:24px;"><span style="font-size: 16px; line-height: 32px;" data-mce-style="font-size: 16px;">Corregir Datos</span></span>
</a>
Thanks
The only solution I have found is to string concat your ruby vars into the if block and output the whole mso conditional, something like so in your case:
<%== '<!--[if mso]>
<table width="100%" ...>
<tr>
<td style="...">
<v:roundrect ... href="https://www.example.com/doctores/edit/' + #user[:id] + '/' + #user[:reset_digest] + '" style="..." ...>
<w:anchorlock/>
<center style="...">
<![endif]-->' %>
Notice the use of the <%== 'raw' erb tag, I had inconsistent results with the regular escaped <%= tag.
Is frankly an ugly, hacky solution but then its not like using mso tags for emails is pretty ;)

html email signature to resize for iphone/smaller screenn

I'm designing a basic HTML signature. I do the HTML code in Dreamweaver (Mac), open to preview in firefox/safari and select all and drag the HTML into apple mails signature composer. It works well, and the signature looks good on desktop and ipad but doesen't work on iphone/smaller screen.
The signature looks like this (i've blacked out personal details):
The problem is on the smaller iphone, some of the text stays left of the picture, and some does not fit and ends up under the photo but with a margin. What would be ideal is if on iphone, I could config so all text and icons display below the main picture all the way left with no margin. Is it possible to set a different set CSS styles for iphone in a HTML email? or is there another way I can make my code more responsive?

Yes, you can target iPhones using their retina screens. The media query should be "#media all and (min-device-pixel-ratio : 1.5)" For example...
<!DOCTYPE HTML>
<html>

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8">
<title>Untitled Document</title>
<style type="text/css">
#media all and (min-device-pixel-ratio : 1.5) {

}
</style>

You might want to recode this to use tables, though, as divs can often get messed up in Outlook, as well as Floats.

I found this: https://github.com/angular-ui/bootstrap/issues/2017
But not sure how do I implement it, where should I really include this directive in my code as I am very new to AJS?
The checkbox may not display correct because the input element is nested inside the label element (even though it may be allowed, it confuses the purposes of the input and the label).
If the issue is about the checkbox not being checked by default, you might need to check out the ng-checked="expression" syntax for Angular.

I see a gap between my img and my right box

I'm having some difficulty getting my website to display properly when viewed on the iPhone and iPad. The website displays properly when viewed on every desktop browser I've tried (safari, chrome, firefox), however, on the iPhone/iPad there is a tiny gap/space between the IMG and right box.
It works fine in Firefox. What is the problem?
Here's an inline link to JsFiddle.
<div id="wrapper">
<img src="http://dummyimage.com/155x155/000/fff"/>
<div id="subject">
<div id="subject_wrapper">
<span>Im span</span>
<span>im spanfdnf</span>
</div>
</div>
</div>
#wrapper {
border-top: 8px solid #457b91;
max-width: 488px;
margin: 0 auto;
overflow: hidden;
}
#wrapper img {
width: 32%;
float: left;
}
#subject {
background-color: green;
float: right;
width: 68%;
padding-bottom: 32%;
position: relative;
}
#subject_wrapper {
padding-top: 12%;
position: absolute;
height: 100%;
width: 100%;
}
#subject span {
font-family: Thonburi;
font-size: 34px;
color: #ffffff;
display: block;
padding: 0 20%;
}
#subject span:nth-child(2) {
font-size: 18px;
line-height: 8px;
}
I don't have an iPd or iPhone to hand to check this, but try commenting out the space between your elements, thus:
<div id="wrapper">
<img src="http://dummyimage.com/155x155/000/fff"/><!--
--><div id="subject">
<div id="subject_wrapper">
<span>Im span</span>
<span>im spanfdnf</span>
</div>
</div>
</div>
It's a pretty ridiculous fix, but it work for inline block elements, like menus made up of LIs.

twitter feed on website that is in a repeating box confusion

I have a twitter feed on my website and i'm trying to put it in a box that has a top, a middle section that repeats as needed to accommodate text and a bottom image as well as an image below the bottom. the problem is that originally the feed was in a box that didn't repeat or anything the feed was just on top of the box, but now i can't get the box set up right or the feed to do it's thing. here is my code:
#twitter_update_list {
overflow: hidden;
font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
font-size: 12px;
color: #FFFFFF;
line-height: 20px;
padding-top: 0;
padding-right: 0;
padding-bottom: 0;
padding-left: 0;
}
#twitter_update_list li {
font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
color:#000000;
list-style: none;
}
#twitter_update_list li a {
color:#f7f6e7;
text-decoration: none;
}
#twitter_update_list li a:hover {
border-bottom-width: 1px;
border-bottom-style: dotted;
border-bottom-color: #f7f6e7;
}
.twitter_top {
position:absolute;
left:632px;
top: 39px;
width: 333px;
height: 27px;
background:url(twittertop.png);
}
.twitter_mid {
width: 333px;
background:url(twittermiddle.png);
background-repeat:repeat-y;
padding: 0 15px;
}
.twitter_bot {
width: 333px;
height: 27px;
background:url(twitterbottom.png);
background-repeat:no-repeat;
margin-bottom: 0px;
}
.twitter_whale {
width: 140px;
height: 67px;
left: 900px;
background-image: url(Layer-6.png) no-repeat;
position: absolute;
left: 9px;
top: 9px;
line-height: 13px;
}
<div class="twitter_top"></div>
<div class="twitter_mid">
<ul id="twitter_update_list"></ul>
</div>
<div class="twitter_bot"></div>
<div class="twitter_whale">
<div id="twitter_div"><ul id="twitter_update_list"><li></li></ul></div>
(update list i'm not putting in here because it's just the js)
</div>
<div id="twitter_box">
<div id="twitter_top">
</div>
<div id="twitter_middle">
</div>
<div id="twitter_bottom">
</div>
</div>
I would think it would make more sense to contain them all in one div, from here you can set your styles, since you want the middle part to expand leave the height dynamic.
