How to make each element of List of String clickable? - ios

I have the function below which provides me hashtags from a text.
Now, I am trying to make each of them clickable like this, but it does not work:
for element in msg.findHashtags(){
Button(action: {
print("go to the hashtags view")
}) {
Text(element).background(Color("bg"))
.foregroundColor(.white)
.clipShape(Capsule())
}
}

The answer should be like this:
ForEach( msg.findHashtags(), id: \.self ){element in
Button(action: {
print("go to the hashtags view")
}) {
Text(element).background(Color("bg"))
.foregroundColor(.white)
.clipShape(Capsule())
}
}
Here is an extension template for the autoWordwrapping:
struct PositionKey : PreferenceKey {
static var defaultValue : [[Int]] = []
static func reduce(value: inout [[Int]], nextValue: () -> [[Int]]) {
let next = nextValue()
if next.count == 2 { value += [next.first!]}
else { value.replaceSubrange(((value.count - 1) ..< value.count), with: [value.last! + next[0]]) }
}
typealias Value = [[Int]]
}
struct TextLink: View {
let array = ["tage1111111111ddfff11111","tag2","taffffg3","tafffg4","tag4", "taffffg3","tafffg4","tag4","tag4333ddffdd333333333","ta33333333","tag4333333333333",]
var body: some View {
var tempCurrentPosition : CGFloat = 0
var currentPosition : CGFloat = 0
return ZStack(alignment: .leading){
GeometryReader{ proxy in
HStack{
ForEach( self.array.indices , id: \.self ) { index in
TextTag(text: self.array[index]).fixedSize(horizontal: true, vertical: false).anchorPreference(key: PositionKey.self , value: .leading) { (value: Anchor<CGPoint>) in
if currentPosition == 0 { currentPosition = proxy[value].x}
if proxy.size.width > (proxy[value].x - currentPosition) { tempCurrentPosition = proxy[value].x
return [[index]]}
currentPosition = proxy[value].x
return [[index],[]]
}.transformAnchorPreference(key: PositionKey.self, value: .trailing) { ( currentValue, value: Anchor<CGPoint>) in
if currentValue.count == 1{
if proxy.size.width < (proxy[value].x - currentPosition) {
currentPosition = tempCurrentPosition
currentValue = [currentValue.first!, []]}
}
}
}
}.opacity(0.0).overlayPreferenceValue(PositionKey.self) { v -> AnyView in
return AnyView( VStack(alignment: .leading, spacing: 10){
ForEach(v , id: \.self){ row in
HStack{
ForEach(row , id: \.self){ item in
TextTag(text: self.array[item])
}
}
}
}.opacity(1.0)
)
}
}
}
}
}
struct TextTag: View {
var text: String
var body: some View {

Swiftui items get duplicated in all views when added to a single custom view

I'm struggling with the following issue: I'm trying to build a very simple app that lets you add items in a dedicated view that can be collapsed. I managed to write a simple function that lets me add multiple of these custom collapsable views. It's my first app so I wanted to follow the MVVM protocol. I think I got confused along the way because now every item I add gets automatically added to all the custom collapsable views I made. Is there any way to fix this? I thought using the UUID would solve this issue.. I'm guessing that I have to customise the "saveButtonPressed" function, but I don't know how to tell it to only add the item to the view where I pressed the "plus" button..
Here are the Models for the individual items and the collapsable view:
struct ItemModel: Identifiable, Equatable {
let id: String
let title: String
init(id: String = UUID().uuidString, title: String) {
self.id = id
self.title = title
}
func updateCompletion() -> ItemModel {
return ItemModel(id: id, title: title)
}
}
--
import Foundation
struct CollapsableItem: Equatable, Identifiable, Hashable {
let id: String
var title: String
init(id: String = UUID().uuidString, title: String) {
self.id = id
self.title = title
}
func updateCompletion() -> CollapsableItem {
return CollapsableItem(id: id, title: title)
}
}
These are my two ViewModels:
class ListViewModel: ObservableObject {
#Published var items: [ItemModel] = []
init() {
getItems()
}
func getItems() {
let newItems = [
ItemModel(title: "List Item1"),
ItemModel(title: "List Item2"),
ItemModel(title: "List Item3"),
]
items.append(contentsOf: newItems)
}
func addItem(title: String) {
let newItem = ItemModel(title: title)
items.append(newItem)
}
func updateItem(item: ItemModel) {
if let index = items.firstIndex(where: { $0.id == item.id}) {
items[index] = item.updateCompletion()
}
}
}
--
class CollapsedViewModel: ObservableObject {
#Published var collapsableItems: [CollapsableItem] = []
#Published var id = UUID().uuidString
init() {
getCollapsableItems()
}
func getCollapsableItems() {
let newCollapsableItems = [
CollapsableItem(title: "Wake up")
]
collapsableItems.append(contentsOf: newCollapsableItems)
}
func addCollapsableItem(title: String) {
let newCollapsableItem = CollapsableItem(title: title)
collapsableItems.append(newCollapsableItem)
}
func updateCollapsableItem(collapsableItem: CollapsableItem) {
if let index = collapsableItems.firstIndex(where: { $0.id ==
collapsableItem.id}) {
collapsableItems[index] =
collapsableItem.updateCompletion()
}
}
}
The item view:
struct ListRowView: View {
#EnvironmentObject var listViewModel: ListViewModel
let item: ItemModel
var body: some View {
HStack() {
Text(item.title)
.font(.body)
.fontWeight(.bold)
.foregroundColor(.white)
.multilineTextAlignment(.center)
.lineLimit(1)
.frame(width: 232, height: 16)
}
.padding( )
.frame(width: 396, height: 56)
.background(.gray)
.cornerRadius(12.0)
}
}
The collapsable view:
struct CollapsedView2<Content: View>: View {
#State var collapsableItem: CollapsableItem
#EnvironmentObject var collapsedViewModel: CollapsedViewModel
#State private var collapsed: Bool = true
#EnvironmentObject var listViewModel: ListViewModel
#State var label: () -> Text
#State var content: () -> Content
#State private var show = true
var body: some View {
ZStack{
VStack {
HStack{
Button(
action: { self.collapsed.toggle() },
label: {
HStack() {
Text("Hello")
.font(.title2.bold())
Spacer()
Image(systemName: self.collapsed ? "chevron.down" :
"chevron.up")
}
.padding(.bottom, 1)
.background(Color.white.opacity(0.01))
}
)
.buttonStyle(PlainButtonStyle())
Button(action: saveButtonPressed, label: {
Image(systemName: "plus")
.font(.title2)
.foregroundColor(.white)
})
}
VStack {
self.content()
}
ForEach(listViewModel.items) { item in ListRowView (item: item)
}
.lineLimit(1)
.fixedSize(horizontal: true, vertical: true)
.frame(minWidth: 396, maxWidth: 396, minHeight: 0, maxHeight: collapsed ?
0 : .none)
.animation(.easeInOut(duration: 1.0), value: show)
.clipped()
.transition(.slide)
}
}
}
func saveButtonPressed() {
listViewModel.addItem(title: "Hello")
}
}
and finally the main view:
struct ListView: View {
#EnvironmentObject var listViewModel: ListViewModel
#EnvironmentObject var collapsedViewModel: CollapsedViewModel
var body: some View {
ZStack{
ScrollView{
VStack{
HStack{
Text("MyFirstApp")
.font(.largeTitle.bold())
Button(action: newCollapsablePressed, label: {
Image(systemName: "plus")
.font(.title2)
.foregroundColor(.white)
})
}
.padding()
.padding(.leading)
ForEach(collapsedViewModel.collapsableItems) { collapsableItem in
CollapsedView2 (collapsableItem: collapsableItem,
label: { Text("") .font(.title2.bold()) },
content: {
HStack {
Text("")
Spacer() }
.frame(maxWidth: .infinity)
})
}
.padding()
}
}
.frame(maxWidth: .infinity, maxHeight: .infinity)
.statusBar(hidden: false)
.navigationBarHidden(true)
}
}
func newCollapsablePressed() {
collapsedViewModel.addCollapsableItem(title: "hello2")
}
}
Would love to understand how I could fix this!
There is the anwser for your comment about add item in each CollapsedView2.
Because ListViewModel is not ObservableObject (ListViewModel is difference from each CollapsableItem). You should use "#State var items: [ItemModel]".
struct CollapsedView2<Content: View>: View {
#State var collapsableItem: CollapsableItem
// #State var listViewModel = ListViewModel()
#State var collapsed: Bool = true
#State var label: () -> Text
#State var content: () -> Content
#State private var show = true
#State var items: [ItemModel] = []
#State var count = 1
var body: some View {
VStack {
HStack{
Text("Hello")
.font(.title2.bold())
Spacer()
Button( action: { self.collapsed.toggle() },
label: {
Image(systemName: self.collapsed ? "chevron.down" : "chevron.up")
}
)
.buttonStyle(PlainButtonStyle())
Button(action: saveButtonPressed, label: {
Image(systemName: "plus")
.font(.title2)
// .foregroundColor(.white)
})
}
VStack {
self.content()
}
ForEach(items) { item in
ListRowView (item: item)
}
.lineLimit(1)
.fixedSize(horizontal: true, vertical: true)
.frame(minHeight: 0, maxHeight: collapsed ? 0 : .none)
.animation(.easeInOut(duration: 1.0), value: show)
.clipped()
.transition(.slide)
}
}
func saveButtonPressed() {
addItem(title: "Hello \(count)")
count += 1
}
func addItem(title: String) {
let newItem = ItemModel(title: title)
items.append(newItem)
}
func updateItem(item: ItemModel) {
if let index = items.firstIndex(where: { $0.id == item.id}) {
items[index] = item.updateCompletion()
}
}
}

SwiftUI: Running into issues with Drag and Drop inside a LazyVGrid

I've been working on my own smart home app and have run into some issues when trying to build the grid for the app.
I've been basing this home app on this tutorial. The goal is that one can reorder the individually sized blocks in the grid basically like he or she wants. The blocks(items) represent different gadgets in the smart home application. The issue I'm facing is that I can't seem to get the drag & drop to work. Maybe it's better to put all the item views in one custom view and then run a "ForEach" loop for them so that the .onDrag works? I'm relatively new to SwiftUI so I appreciate every hint I can get this program to work.
Here is my code:
ItemModel1:
struct ItemModel: Identifiable, Equatable {
let id: String
var title: String
init(id: String = UUID().uuidString, title: String) {
self.id = id
self.title = title
}
func updateCompletion() -> ItemModel {
return ItemModel(id: id, title: title)
}
}
ItemModel2:
struct ItemModel2: Identifiable, Equatable {
let id: String
var title: String
init(id: String = UUID().uuidString, title: String) {
self.id = id
self.title = title
}
func updateCompletion() -> ItemModel2 {
return ItemModel2(id: id, title: title)
}
}
It's essentially the same for the two other ItemModels 3 and 4..
ItemViewModel:
class ItemViewModel {
var items: [ItemModel] = []
#Published var currentGrid: ItemModel?
init() {
getItems()
}
func getItems() {
let newItems = [
ItemModel(title: "Item1"),
]
items.append(contentsOf: newItems)
}
func addItem(title: String) {
let newItem = ItemModel(title: title)
items.append(newItem)
}
func updateItem(item: ItemModel) {
if let index = items.firstIndex(where: { $0.id == item.id}) {
items[index] = item.updateCompletion()
}
}
}

I tried recreating the grid Asperi linked. However, the .onDrop doesn't seem to work like it should. The drop only occurs after you pressed another item to drag it. Only then will the previous items reorder themselves..

How to make a 5 stars review widget with an incremental of 0.5 in SwiftUI

I have the widget fully working with the 5 stars, the data binding and the interface as follows:
import SwiftUI
struct mainView: View {
#State var rating: Double = 0.0
var body: some View {
VStack {
RatingView(rating: $rating)
Text("\(String(format: "%.1f", rating))")
.font(.system(size: 30))
}.background(.mint)
}
}
struct RatingView: View {
#Binding var rating: Double
var offColor = Color.white
var onColor = Color("AccentColor")
var starHalf = Image(systemName: "star.leadinghalf.filled")
var body: some View {
HStack {
ForEach(1..<6) { number in
Image(systemName: "star.fill")
.foregroundColor(number > Int(self.rating) ? self.offColor : self.onColor)
.onTapGesture {
self.rating = Double(number)
selectionChanged()
}
}
}
}
}
struct ContentView_Previews: PreviewProvider {
static var previews: some View {
mainView()
}
}
Works perfect, but have no idea how can I implement to have a 0.5 increment, and to change the icon for the half star. there is nothing like .onHelfLeftTapGesture() I can use?
You can't do it reasonably with a tap gesture, unless you want to go a half star at a time. But using a different mechanism will make it flow better. Simply use a Slider with an .opacity(0.1) so it works, but is transparent, in an .overlay() that is keyed to the stars:
struct RatingsView: View {
let ratingsArray: [Double]
let color: Color
#Binding var rating: Double
init(rating: Binding<Double>, maxRating: Int = 5, starColor: Color = .yellow) {
_rating = rating
ratingsArray = Array(stride(from: 0.0, through: Double(max(1, maxRating)), by: 0.5))
color = starColor
}
var body: some View {

No, I didn't just come up with this, but had come up with this before Christmas to play with the idea. This is the code I came up with.

SwiftUI - Inconsistent data for two diferent subviews inside a ForEach

I'm building an app which makes graphs and calculates some basic stuff. On the main screen, I have a ForEach loop inside a List that shows the saved charts. When entering the NavigationLink inside the List, the destination view does not correspond with the label shown (video below).
I had to use a custom ForEach extension to deal with the bindings https://www.swiftbysundell.com/articles/bindable-swiftui-list-elements/ (Apple announced that on iOS 15 ForEach will accept bindings, but I'm developing for iOS 14).
The code of the List:
List{
ForEach($chartData.calibrations) { index, data in
VStack{
NavigationLink(
destination: DetailedChartView(index: index, currentData: data, isDetailShown: $detailVisible),
isActive: $detailVisible,
label: {
SavedListItem(index: index, savedData: self.chartData.calibrations[index])
})
.navigationBarHidden(true)
}
}.onDelete(perform: removeRows)
}.id(UUID())
.listStyle(PlainListStyle())
The code of the label (SavedListItem)
struct SavedListItem: View {
var index: Int
var data: ChartDataObject
var formattedSlope = ""
var formattedOrigin = ""
var formattedCoef = ""
init(index: Int, savedData: ChartDataObject) {
self.data = savedData
self.index = index
self.formattedSlope = String(format: "%.2f", data.slope)
self.formattedOrigin = String(format: "%.2f", abs(data.origin))
self.formattedCoef = String(format: "%.3f", data.regressionCoef)
}
var body: some View {
HStack {
Text("\(index + 1)").bold()
VStack(alignment: .leading,spacing: 10) {
Text("\(data.name)").font(.title3)
Text("\(formatDate(data.date))")
}.padding()
Spacer()
if data.origin > 0 {
VStack {
VStack {
Text("y = \(self.formattedSlope)x + \(formattedOrigin)")
Spacer().frame(height: 10)
Text("R2 = \(formattedCoef)")
}
}
}
else if data.origin == 0 {
VStack {
VStack {
Text("y = \(formattedSlope)x")
Spacer().frame(height: 10)
Text("R2 = \(formattedCoef)")
}
}
}
else if data.origin < 0 {
VStack {
VStack {
Text("y = \(formattedSlope)x - \(formattedOrigin)")
Spacer().frame(height: 10)
Text("R2 = \(formattedCoef)")
}
}
}
else {
Text("There was an error")
}
}
.padding()
}
private func formatDate(_ date: Date) -> String {
let dateFormatter = DateFormatter()
dateFormatter.dateFormat = "dd-MM-yyyy"
let dateString = dateFormatter.string(from: date)
return dateString
}
}
And the code of DetailedChartView:
struct DetailedChartView: View {
#EnvironmentObject var calibrationsController: SavedCalibrationsController
var index: Int
#Binding var currentData: ChartDataObject
var copyData: ChartDataObject {
return currentData
}
#State var isEditing: Bool = false
#Binding var isDetailShown: Bool
var body: some View {
NavigationView{
VStack(spacing: 10) {
Text("y = \(currentData.origin) + \(currentData.slope)x")
Text("Slope: \(currentData.slope)")
Text("Origin: \(currentData.origin)")
Text("R2: \(currentData.regressionCoef)")
Divider()
RegressionChart(data: currentData).frame(height: 500)
}.navigationBarHidden(true)
}
.navigationBarTitle(currentData.name)
.toolbar(content: {
Button(action: {
self.isEditing = true
}, label: {
Text("Edit")
})
})
.sheet(isPresented: $isEditing, onDismiss: {
currentData = copyData
calibrationsController.saveData()
isEditing = false
isDetailShown = false
}, content: {
EditView(calibrationsController: calibrationsController, editVisible: $isEditing, isDetailShown: $isDetailShown, index: index, data: $currentData).environmentObject(calibrationsController)
})
}
}
When there is only one item the List behaves as expected.
This issue is driving me nuts: if I use a List (without the ForEach), everything works as expected but I cant change the ForEach because I lose the .onDelete() functionality, and deleting the items inside the detailed view (which has an edit button), gives me an index out of range error (another story...).
Sorry for the long post!
EDIT: Minimal reproductible example

remove
isActive: $detailVisible,
in MainList NavigationLink.

SwiftUI => AttributeGraph: cycle detected through attribute after updating one model in list

Context:
I've got a list of custom views. The array is stored a #ObservableObject as #Published.
My custom view has a function which detects when the View is touched (I did it because it's triggered only after an animation). This event activates, through my #ObservableObject, an event that shows a View which is in ZStack with my list. There I could update my passed object through a TextField, and when I come back I have everything updated.
However, when I try to re-show one of every element in my list, my debug shows this error:
AttributeGraph: cycle detected through attribute.
Instead, if I show the detail without updating my model's data, I have not any leak.
Any suggestion?
EDIT:
