I am setting up a database with hundreds of product names and I need an easy way to copy search volume from another list in the same spreadsheet.
I have tried to use:
=vlookup(lower(A1),$E$1:$F$5,2,false)
And I also looked at all Google documentation on Google Docs but none of the formulas was successful to achieve my goals.
=vlookup(lower(A1),$E$1:$F$5,2,false)
I am expecting the raws in column B to be based on the raws from column F.
I have uploaded links to the desired result:

you don't need to define LOWER. all you need is ARRAYFORMULA:
=ARRAYFORMULA(IFERROR(VLOOKUP(A1:A, E:F, 2, 0)))

I'll try to explain this the best i can.
I've got a database that hardly ever changes on 1 tab and i've got a dynamic table on other tab which is generated with data from the web.
I am trying to set up a formula that changes the outcome based on the colors i selected.
i can't link the original sheet but i tried to put together a small test sheet to make it more clear
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/114DxB1vqdH9MHuE5jr-iR1WfUdjMk4sY0dtvkCN80Y8/edit?usp=sharing
The linked sheet discribes what i want to get.
i tried allot of formulas and the closest i got gave me only the first result and it was combination of filter and vlookup but i accidently deleted that and can't really reproduce it...
added formula to your sheet. Please test it out:
=ARRAYFORMULA(QUERY(LAMBDA(ax,{PROPER(INDEX(ax,,1)),IFERROR(SPLIT(VLOOKUP(INDEX(ax,,2),A:A&"🐠"&B:B,1,),"🐠"))})(QUERY(SPLIT(FLATTEN(D3:D&"|"&E3:E&"🐠"&TRANSPOSE(G3:G10)),"|",0,0),"Select * Where Col1!=''")),"Select * Where Col2!=''"))
-
Another option it stacks up different queries with REDUCE, also gives you a message if product is not found in that colour:
=REDUCE({A2:B2,"colour"},SEQUENCE(COUNTA(E3:E)),LAMBDA(a,v,{a; IFERROR (QUERY(A3:B100,"SELECT '"&INDEX(D3:D,v)&"',A,B where A = '"&INDEX(E3:E,v)&"' and B matches '"&JOIN("|",FILTER(G3:G,G3:G<>""))&"' label '"&INDEX(D3:D,v)&"' ''",),{INDEX(D3:D,v),INDEX(E3:E,v),"not found in any colour"})}))
try:
=INDEX(QUERY({VLOOKUP(A3:A10, {E3:E10, D3:D10}, 2, ), A3:B10},
"where Col3 matches '"&TEXTJOIN("|", 1, G3:G10)&"'", ))
I'm working with a long, growing list of ratings data, and I'm trying to find a way to reference the 2nd (3rd, 4th, etc.) rating.
Here's a link to the sheet I'm working on.
The data I want to reference is in F5:H. I'm using QUERY to show most of the info I want (see A5 in my sheet for this formula), but where I'm running into trouble is when I try to retrieve only the Nth rating from Column H for a particular client based on the Client in Column A.
I'm sure I'm missing something obvious... the biggest (potential) limitation is that I need a formula that I can put in D5 that auto-fills this info for the entire column.
Thanks in advance!
try:
=ARRAYFORMULA(IF(A5:A="",, IFNA(VLOOKUP(A5:A,
FILTER(G5:H, COUNTIFS(G5:G, G5:G, ROW(G5:G), "<="&ROW(G5:G))=2), 2, ),
VLOOKUP(A5:A, G5:H, 2, ))))
I have two tabs in a sheet, that have different ranges. One is preset data, the other is an import from a program we use. I'm trying to figure out a way, if possible, to pull specific data from sheet 1, and match it with values in sheet two, that aren't sorted the same.
Example sheet
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1OsSWQ_48VrcTU3pXGeJ_1syluKPVeVRune39UA9I3x4/edit?usp=sharing
I'm trying the formula =sort(filter(Sheet1!B1:B,match(B1:B, Sheet1!B1:B ,0)),2,TRUE), but it's just putting the results in order. If I replace the column # on the sort with 1, it sorts it out of order but it doesn't match column B, like I need it to.
The documents i'm working with are 2000+ rows each, I'd rather not manually do this if at all possible.
Please assist? Either way, thank you for reading.
Try:
=arrayformula(iferror(vlookup(MATCH( B1:B,Sheet1!$B$1:B,0),{(ROW(Sheet1!A1:A)),Sheet1!A1:A},2,0)))
Explanation
step#1 =arrayformula(MATCH( B1:B,Sheet1!$B$1:B,0)) will give the row where each value column B will be found in Sheet1!column B
step #2 =arrayformula({ROW(Sheet1!A1:A),Sheet1!A1:A}) will build a virtual matrix whith in column#1 the row and in column#2 the value of Sheet1!column A
finally: join the two formulas as vlookup(___step#1____,____step#2______)
Here is a link to my spreadsheet. Essentially what I am looking for is if the task matches then I want to also be able to give a Tech level then from there add up the values. I put a note in the sheet but basically if I give a task value and a tech level I want the corresponding value but whenever I try to do multicolumn adding in my sumif it just gives me the value from the first column.
An example of the formula I want is something like =SUMIF(Name, Name2 and Rank, Add Values).
try:
=INDEX(IFNA(VLOOKUP(K3:K&"♥"&L3:L, SPLIT(FLATTEN(
IF(B2:D="",,A2:A&"♥"&B1:D1&"×"&B2:D)), "×"), 2, 0)))
I think what you are looking for can be done by using a Index-Match function.
e.g. If you paste the following formula in an empty cell somewhere in the sheet,
=INDEX($A$1:$D$8, MATCH("Task 1",$A$1:$A$8,0),MATCH("Tech 2",$A$1:$D$1,0))
it gives you 20 corresponding to Task 1 and Tech 2.
If you paste the following in an empty cell somewhere in sheet,
=INDEX($A$1:$D$8, MATCH("Task 7",$A$1:$A$8,0),MATCH("Tech 3",$A$1:$D$1,0))
it gives you 36 corresponding to Task 7 and Tech 3.
I have a formula that works as long as all the data it is trying to match from is in Column A. I need this to also look at the data in column B to see if it matches. I also have another formula that matches two different columns and I also need it to look in both A and B for the data. Both of these are used for conditional formatting. Can anyone help me set these up so it is looking on the Received tab in both columns A and B?
Current formulas that work:
=match($C:$C, indirect("Received!A2:A"),0)
=and(match($I:$I, indirect("Received!A2:A"),0), (match($O:$O, indirect("Received!A2:A"),0)))
What I am trying to do but is not working:
=match($C:$C, indirect("Received!A2:B"),0)
=and(match($I:$I, indirect("Received!A2:B"),0), (match($O:$O, indirect("Received!A2:B"),0)))
Test Doc: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1dDrmASkiy4KY8ywVuBLdZzAZtvyTohJBFFWtSte5g8A/edit?usp=sharing
try:
=OR(MATCH($C:$C,INDIRECT("Received!A2:A"),0),MATCH($C:$C,INDIRECT("Received!B2:B"),0))
and:
=OR(AND(MATCH($I:$I,INDIRECT("Received!A2:A"),0),(MATCH($O:$O,INDIRECT("Received!A2:A"),0))),
AND(MATCH($I:$I,INDIRECT("Received!B2:B"),0),(MATCH($O:$O,INDIRECT("Received!B2:B"),0))))
