I've been developing a programming where the user can select a list of fields from popup buttons, then they press a calculate button and then depending on the choices, a string of text gets outputted to a UIText Field.
However I would like for the text field to be cleared when the user starts selecting other choices in the popup button before pressing the select button.
Is there anyway this is possible?
Just right this code in the place where that happens:
/*You can replace theTextFieldYouAreTalkingAbout with the one you are talking about*/
theTextFieldYouAreTalkingAbout.text = ""
I have a screen and a UITableView within it to display some companies information. Every company's area has 1 address text field and an arrow icon followed on UI. Click the arrow icon, contacts of this company will be showed. The data includes name and telephone. These contacts are UITableViewCells as well, which belong to same section. For 2nd company, there is another section.
In every section, below these contacts cell, there is a "Edit/Save" button. user can edit or save contacts' name and telephone by clicking it.
my question is,
I can know which Edit/Save button is clicked by using (id)sender in action method, but how can I read the values of the updated contacts' name/telephone in those 2 text fields just above the button?
Thanks in advance!
the whole table view looks like this,
company1
address [arrow button]
contact's name
contact's telephone
[edit/save]
company2
address [arrow button]
...
Your controller should be the delegate for each UITextField that is used for entering details.
Whenever any text is changed, record it straight away (into a temporary store like a dictionary, using textField:shouldChangeCharactersInRange:replacementString:). You do it immediately so you don't need to worry about completing edits at the end and so that nothing is lost if the table view is scrolled.
If the table view is scrolled and the cells are recreated you can fill in the previously entered value from the temporary store.
Now, when the save button is pressed you use the temporary store of data.
i want to do a function, that is in page-based,i add a button, when i click the button,pop-up a Select box.In the selected box input the page number, but how can i realize that when i input the page number, the page jump to the specified page
edit:
I want to do a calendar, the label title bar in the top i have used button, now,it is that when i press the button,it will pop up a marquee,in there have month.now ,i want to press a month in the press box, then turn to the corresponding page.
I have a created a list view for one of my controller's index action.
I have added a new column "Select This" to this list view, by using the view's source.
The column will contain radio button for each entry in the list. This i have achieved by just placing a radio button control from tool box in the "Select This" column. This i have done in the design of the view and when i run it, i get radio buttons, one for each of the entry. The page also has a link button and i want to call a controller action on this link button click which will receive the index of radio button selected. So if i select 5th radio button, how can receive 5 in the controller action.
How can i do this?

kapil
If you used plain HTML, your radio buttons will all have the same name, but different value. You will get one result in the POST, which will contain the selected value.
If you used ASP.net helpers, it's the same, but they will be generated for you: see here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd410596.aspx You will pass the same name (first parameter) and different values for each input (second parameter).
I am working on MVC with C#.
I have 2 radio buttons. On selecting first radio button, a textbox will be shown which allows to enter date values.
<%= Html.TextBox("ReceivedDate")%>
on selecting the second radio button, the textbox gets hidden.
For the first time, when i select first radio button and entered date and clicked Next to navigate to next page and came back to this page again and clicked second radio button and clicked Next to continue and again i came back to this page and without changing any option click continue, its not allowing to navigate and shows an error.
A value is required.
Which means the ModelState validating the hidden controls also.
Please suggest how to control it
Instead of hiding it remove the element from the DOM and reinsert it if the first item is selected again. Another way would be to change the name of the input control to something else (a key not present in your model data) when the first item is not selected.
Validating hidden input types is a good thing, i often use them to synchronize data from complex controls (like a treeview with checkboxes). An input type with a hidden css style doesn't make it not submit with the form it belongs too.
