My Listview items are going out of the view and showing in ListTile that is below my Listview, I am not getting what I am doing wrong in my code. Please have a look at below images, you can see ending point of list view and in another image my items are going out of this ending point. I am posting my code below, please have a look and help me to resolve this issue.
Here is my Listview items are going out of the view.
Below is the code:
class _CartFinalSummaryState extends State<CartFinalSummary> {
final cartSummary = new StoreConnector<List<CartItem>, List<CartItem>>(
converter: (store) => store.state,
builder: (context, list) => new Padding(
padding: const EdgeInsets.all(8.0),
child: new Container(
margin: new EdgeInsets.only(top: 5.0, left: 5.0, right: 5.0),
child: new Row(
mainAxisAlignment: MainAxisAlignment.spaceBetween,
children: <Widget>[
new Text(
"Quantity: (${getTotalQuantity(list)})",
style: new TextStyle(
fontSize: 15.0,
fontWeight: FontWeight.w700
),
),
],
),
),
),);
final listCartItem = new StoreConnector<List<CartItem>,
List<CartItem>>(
converter: (store) => store.state,
builder: (context, list) => new Container(
child: new Flexible(
child: new Stack(
children: <Widget>[
new ListView.builder(
scrollDirection: Axis.vertical,
itemCount: list ==0 ? null : list.length,
itemBuilder: (context, index){
return new Column(
children: <Widget>[
new ListTile(
title: new Text(
list[index].product
.name.toString(),
style: new TextStyle(fontWeight: FontWeight.bold,
fontSize: 18.0),),
subtitle: new Text(list[index].quantity.toString()
+ " x " + list[index].product.price.toString()),
trailing: new Text("€"+(list[index].product.price *
list[index].quantity).toString(),
style: new TextStyle(fontWeight: FontWeight.bold,
fontSize: 18.0)),
),
new Divider(
)
],
);
}),
],
),
),
));
#override
Widget build(BuildContext context) {
return new Scaffold(
bottomNavigationBar: new GestureDetector(
onTap: () {
/*Navigator.push(
context,
new MaterialPageRoute(builder: (context) =>
new SelectTable()));*/
},
child:new StoreConnector<List<CartItem>, List<CartItem>>(
converter: (store) => store.state,
builder: (context, list) => new Container(
padding: const EdgeInsets.all(10.0),
color: Colors.green,
child: new Row(
crossAxisAlignment: CrossAxisAlignment.center,
mainAxisAlignment: MainAxisAlignment.center,
children: <Widget>[
new GestureDetector(
child: new Text("Proceed to Pay ${
"( €"+getTotal(list).toStringAsFixed(2)+" )"}", style:
new TextStyle(
color: Colors.white,
fontSize: 18.0),),
)
],
)
)),
),
appBar: new AppBar(
iconTheme: new IconThemeData(color: Colors.white),
title: new Text('Cart Summary', style: new TextStyle(
color: Colors.white
),),
),
body: new Container(
child: new Column(
children: <Widget>[
cartSummary,
new Divider(
color: Colors.black,
height: 3.0,
),
listCartItem,
new Divider(
color: Colors.black,
height: 5.0,
),
new ListTile(
title: new Text("Table Selected",
style: new TextStyle(fontWeight: FontWeight.bold,
fontSize: 18.0)),
trailing: new Text("5",
style: new TextStyle(fontWeight: FontWeight.bold,
fontSize: 18.0)),
),
new Divider(
color: Colors.black,
),
new ListTile(
title: new Text("Sub Total",
style: new TextStyle(fontWeight: FontWeight.bold,
fontSize: 18.0)),
trailing: new Text("5",
style: new TextStyle(fontWeight: FontWeight.bold,
fontSize: 18.0)),
),
],
),
),
);
}
}
I've resolved the issue by replacing this piece of code. I am still not sure what was the problem, I think the ListTiles that I was using were transparent, I've used ListTile as child of Container widget and set the background color of container.
new Divider(
color: Colors.black,
height: 0.1,
),
new Container(
color: const Color(0xFFD6D6D6),
child: new ListTileTheme(
child: new ListTile(
onTap: (){
Navigator.pushReplacement(
context,
new MaterialPageRoute(builder: (context) =>
new SelectTable()));
},
title: new Text("Table Selected",
style: new TextStyle(fontWeight: FontWeight.bold,
fontSize: 17.0)),
trailing: new Text(widget.tableNumber.toString(),
style: new TextStyle(fontWeight: FontWeight.bold,
fontSize: 17.0)),
),
),
),
new Divider(
height: 0.1,
color: Colors.black,
),
new Container(
color: const Color(0xFFD6D6D6),
child: new ListTile(
title: new Text("Grand Total",
style: new TextStyle(fontWeight: FontWeight.bold,
fontSize: 17.0)),
trailing: new Text("€"+getTotal(list).toString(),
style: new TextStyle(fontWeight: FontWeight.bold,
fontSize: 17.0)),
),
),

How do I add a new column to a Card in flutter?
Currently, I have 2 Columns and can't figure out how to add a third between these since they are on the left and right sides. When I have tried adding a "new Column", it only creates a new row of text under the first Column.
This is my code so far:
Widget _buildListItem(BuildContext context, Record record) {
return Card(
key: ValueKey(record.activityName),
elevation: 8.0,
margin: new EdgeInsets.symmetric(horizontal: 10.0, vertical: 6.0),
child: Container(
decoration: BoxDecoration(color: Color.fromRGBO(64, 75, 96, .9)),
child: ListTile(
contentPadding:
EdgeInsets.symmetric(horizontal: 20.0, vertical: 10.0),
title: Text(
record.activityName,
style: TextStyle(color: Colors.white, fontWeight: FontWeight.bold, fontSize: 23),
),
subtitle: Row(
children: <Widget>[
new Flexible(
child: new Column(
crossAxisAlignment: CrossAxisAlignment.start,
children: <Widget>[
RichText(
text: TextSpan(
text: "Activations: "+record.activations+
"\n"+record.dateCompleted,
style: TextStyle(color: Colors.white),
),
maxLines: 2,
softWrap: true,
)
],
)
)
],
),
trailing: Container(
child: Hero(
tag: "avatar_" + record.activityName,
child: CircleAvatar(
radius: 32,
backgroundImage: NetworkImage(record.icon),
backgroundColor: Colors.white,
)
)
),
onTap: () {
Navigator.push(
context, MaterialPageRoute(builder: (context) => new DetailPage(record: record)));
}
),
)
);
}
I am wanting 3 columns so that I can add either an image in the middle of this card.
Current output
Expected output
Based on your screenshot, here is the solution. You can modify it according to your needs.
Widget _buildListItem(BuildContext context) {
return Card(
margin: EdgeInsets.all(12),
elevation: 4,
color: Color.fromRGBO(64, 75, 96, .9),
child: Padding(
padding: const EdgeInsets.symmetric(vertical: 8.0, horizontal: 16),
child: Row(
children: <Widget>[
Column(
crossAxisAlignment: CrossAxisAlignment.start,
mainAxisSize: MainAxisSize.min,
children: <Widget>[
Text("Jumping", style: TextStyle(fontSize: 20, fontWeight: FontWeight.bold)),
SizedBox(height: 4),
Text("Activations 9", style: TextStyle(color: Colors.white70)),
Text("03-08-19", style: TextStyle(color: Colors.white70)),
],
),
Spacer(),
CircleAvatar(backgroundColor: Colors.white),
],
),
),
);
}
Output:
Following is a simple code(in main.dart) I was trying to use to revisit the flutter basics which I was doing few months back.
Here, in the following code setState() is not working as expected and the reason is with the wrong state.
I can get it usable by creating separate statefulwidget withs states constituting the following elements for button and text change.
But here I wanted to know is it possible to do it anonymously with minimal changes in below code
import 'package:flutter/material.dart';
var textStrings = ["Hello", "Hi", "Hey", "Aloha"];
var counter = 0;
void main() => runApp(MaterialApp(
title: "Hello",
home: Scaffold(
appBar: AppBar(
title: Text(
"First App",
style: TextStyle(
color: Colors.white70,
fontSize: 20,
fontStyle: FontStyle.normal),
),
),
body: Container(
child: Center(
child: Column(
mainAxisAlignment: MainAxisAlignment.start,
crossAxisAlignment: CrossAxisAlignment.stretch,
children: <Widget>[
Padding(padding: EdgeInsets.only(top: 20)),
Card(
child: Column(
crossAxisAlignment: CrossAxisAlignment.stretch,
children: <Widget>[
Padding(padding: EdgeInsets.only(bottom: 20)),
Center(
child: Text("With Flutter, Spread Fluttery",
style: TextStyle(
color: Colors.redAccent,
fontStyle: FontStyle.italic,
fontSize: 30)),
),
Padding(padding: EdgeInsets.only(bottom: 20)),
Icon(
Icons.refresh,
size: 50,
color: Colors.amberAccent,
),
Padding(padding: EdgeInsets.only(bottom: 20)),
Text(textStrings[counter % 4],
style: TextStyle(
color: Colors.black38,
fontSize: 30,
fontStyle: FontStyle.normal)),
Padding(padding: EdgeInsets.only(bottom: 20)),
RaisedButton(
onPressed: () {
setState() {
counter++;
}
},
child: Text("Enter",
style: TextStyle(
color: Colors.teal,
fontSize: 30,
)),
)
],
),
)
],
),
),
),
),
));
Sure you can do it adding a few lines of code, you can use the StatefulBuilder.
Wrap your container inside StatefulBuilder and change your setState(() {} ) inside the onPressed method of your button.
void main() => runApp(MaterialApp(
title: "Hello",
home: Scaffold(
appBar: AppBar(
title: Text(
"First App",
style: TextStyle(
color: Colors.white70,
fontSize: 20,
fontStyle: FontStyle.normal),
),
),
body: StatefulBuilder(
builder: (context, setState) {
return Container(
child: Center(
child: Column(
mainAxisAlignment: MainAxisAlignment.start,
crossAxisAlignment: CrossAxisAlignment.stretch,
children: <Widget>[
Padding(padding: EdgeInsets.only(top: 20)),
Card(
child: Column(
crossAxisAlignment: CrossAxisAlignment.stretch,
children: <Widget>[
Padding(padding: EdgeInsets.only(bottom: 20)),
Center(
child: Text("With Flutter, Spread Fluttery",
style: TextStyle(
color: Colors.redAccent,
fontStyle: FontStyle.italic,
fontSize: 30)),
),
Padding(padding: EdgeInsets.only(bottom: 20)),
Icon(
Icons.refresh,
size: 50,
color: Colors.amberAccent,
),
Padding(padding: EdgeInsets.only(bottom: 20)),
Text(textStrings[counter % 4],
style: TextStyle(
color: Colors.black38,
fontSize: 30,
fontStyle: FontStyle.normal)),
Padding(padding: EdgeInsets.only(bottom: 20)),
RaisedButton(
onPressed: () {
setState(() {
counter++;
});
},
child: Text("Enter : $counter",
style: TextStyle(
color: Colors.teal,
fontSize: 30,
)),
)
],
),
)
],
),
),
);
},
)),
));
First, you need to understand that, whenever you call setState() method, It will just rebuild the Stateful Widget, and build() method of the State class of Stateful widget gets executed.
In your code, there is no such stateful widget is available so setState() method is of no use.
Here is the code:
void main() => runApp(MaterialApp(
title: "Hello",
home: Scaffold(
appBar: AppBar(
title: Text(
"First App",
style: TextStyle(
color: Colors.white70,
fontSize: 20,
fontStyle: FontStyle.normal),
),
),
body: MyAppWidgets(),
),
)
);
class MyAppWidgets extends StatefulWidget {
#override
_MyAppWidgetsState createState() => _MyAppWidgetsState();
}
class _MyAppWidgetsState extends State<MyAppWidgets> {
var textStrings = ["Hello", "Hi", "Hey", "Aloha"];
var counter = 0;
#override
Widget build(BuildContext context) {
return Container(
child: Center(
child: Column(
mainAxisAlignment: MainAxisAlignment.start,
crossAxisAlignment: CrossAxisAlignment.stretch,
children: <Widget>[
Padding(padding: EdgeInsets.only(top: 20)),
Card(
child: Column(
crossAxisAlignment: CrossAxisAlignment.stretch,
children: <Widget>[
Padding(padding: EdgeInsets.only(bottom: 20)),
Center(
child: Text("With Flutter, Spread Fluttery",
style: TextStyle(
color: Colors.redAccent,
fontStyle: FontStyle.italic,
fontSize: 30)),
),
Padding(padding: EdgeInsets.only(bottom: 20)),
Icon(
Icons.refresh,
size: 50,
color: Colors.amberAccent,
),
Padding(padding: EdgeInsets.only(bottom: 20)),
Text(textStrings[counter % 4],
style: TextStyle(
color: Colors.black38,
fontSize: 30,
fontStyle: FontStyle.normal)),
Padding(padding: EdgeInsets.only(bottom: 20)),
RaisedButton(
onPressed: () {
setState(() {
counter++;
});
},
child: Text("Enter",
style: TextStyle(
color: Colors.teal,
fontSize: 30,
)),
)
],
),
)
],
),
),
);
}
}
i think that there is no way to do so, because runApp is can not redraw using statefull widget. it is just starting point of your application.
just change the title of your application in main method and use hot reload it will not reflated in you result and use play button(run button) it will work.
I've been trying to implement a search bar into my app for bringing selected listView items to the top of a list. The list contains quite a few items, around approximately 1700 so the addition of a search bar is essential. I'd like the listView search box to appear from a search icon on the right hand side of the top appBar. Below is a picture of the current view for reference.
When you click the search iconButton a search field should replace the title in the appBar. It's going to be evident to the user that this is for the crypto listView as I'll add a hint in the search view identifying this.
I'm not including all my code as this would be cumbersome for a stack question, but below is my home_page.dart file, where as the rest of my classes for the bottom crypto listView can be found at this GitHub repo.
This is what my 'home_page.dart` looks like;
import 'package:cryptick/cryptoData/crypto_data.dart';
import 'package:cryptick/cryptoData/trending_data.dart';
import 'package:cryptick/modules/crypto_presenter.dart';
import 'package:flutter/cupertino.dart';
import 'package:flutter/gestures.dart';
import 'package:flutter/material.dart';
import 'background.dart';

Thanks for the help, Jake
There are probably many ways to implement this based on the resulting experience you want. A simple solution is to create activeSearch state that toggles a 'search app bar' and a 'normal app bar'
Here's the normal app bar:
return AppBar(
title: Text("My App"),
actions: <Widget>[
IconButton(
icon: Icon(Icons.search),
onPressed: () => setState(() => activeSearch = true),
),
],
);
And here's the search app bar:
return AppBar(
leading: Icon(Icons.search),
title: TextField(
decoration: InputDecoration(
hintText: "here's a hint",
),
),
actions: <Widget>[
IconButton(
icon: Icon(Icons.close),
onPressed: () => setState(() => activeSearch = false),
)
],
);
Note: if you don't want to have a leading icon when search is active you may want to disable the default behavior for a drawer and back button icon with:
automaticallyImplyLeading: false
Full example:
class MyApp extends StatefulWidget {
#override
_MyAppState createState() => _MyAppState();
}
class _MyAppState extends State<MyApp> {
bool activeSearch;
#override
void initState() {
super.initState();
activeSearch = false;
}
#override
Widget build(BuildContext context) {
return Scaffold(
appBar: _appBar(),
drawer: _drawer(),
);
}
PreferredSizeWidget _appBar() {
if (activeSearch) {
return AppBar(
leading: Icon(Icons.search),
title: TextField(
decoration: InputDecoration(
hintText: "here's a hint",
),
),
actions: <Widget>[
IconButton(
icon: Icon(Icons.close),
onPressed: () => setState(() => activeSearch = false),
)
],
);
} else {
return AppBar(
title: Text("My App"),
actions: <Widget>[
IconButton(
icon: Icon(Icons.search),
onPressed: () => setState(() => activeSearch = true),
),
],
);
}
}
Widget _drawer() {
return Container();
}
}
UPDATE: Here's a hint at handling results
return AppBar(
...
title: TextField(
onChanged: _search,
),
);
And what _search could look like:
List<MyResultObject> _results;
void _search(String queryString) {
// do some searching and sorting
// then call setState() with the results
// and then in your ListView you can read from results
// (handle empty, default case as well in view)
setState(() {
_results = ...
});
}
List<Widget> _resultWidgets() {
if (_results.isEmpty) return _defaultWidgets();
_results.map((r) => _buildRowWidget(s)).toList();
}
Can u refer a simple search view in this answer. In that example, as the user types, the list will get filtered.
friends, I am thinking to make this type of view but I can't able to set the button overlapping like the given image I am using stack widget which is containing the text fields and the buttons as given image please check and help me out I also tried to use the center widgets as well but the view is coming as required in it also i had used the positioned widget but its getting button bottom of the screen like this but i need as the above image

this is just one the many ways you can achieve the expected result.
In this case, i assume you know the height of the background.
Again, there are many ways to achieve what you want. There is nothing wrong with your code, you just have to get an understanding of how 'things' work in Flutter
Widget demo = Stack(
children: <Widget>[
//First thing in the stack is the background
//For the backgroud i create a column
Column(
children: <Widget>[
//first element in the column is the white background (the Image.asset in your case)
DecoratedBox(
decoration: BoxDecoration(
borderRadius: BorderRadius.circular(20.0),
color: Colors.white
),
child: Container(
width: 300.0,
height: 400.0,
)
),
//second item in the column is a transparent space of 20
Container(
height: 20.0
)
],
),
//for the button i create another column
Column(
children:<Widget>[
//first element in column is the transparent offset
Container(
height: 380.0
),
Center(
child: FlatButton(
color: Colors.red,
child: Text("Press Me"),
onPressed: () {},
),
)
]
)
],
);
Here you can find your solution code below.
import 'package:flutter/material.dart';
void main() => runApp(MyApp());
class MyApp extends StatefulWidget {
#override
State<StatefulWidget> createState() {
MyAppState myAppState() => new MyAppState();
return myAppState();
}
}
class MyAppState extends State<MyApp> {
#override
Widget build(BuildContext context) {
return new MaterialApp(home: new Scaffold(body: new Builder(
builder: (BuildContext context) {
return new Stack(
children: <Widget>[
new Image.asset(
'assets/images/bg.jpeg',
fit: BoxFit.fitWidth,
),
new Center(
child: new Container(
height: 370.0,
child: Container(
height:250.0,
child: new Card(

#ibhavikmakwana propsed a better solution to your question. The other answers all depend on the size of the background and are not screen independent. They both create an invisible object above the button (either by adding a Container or a Padding).
I was having that question too and did not find your question first.
His simple solution is to wrap the button in a Positioned widget and give it a bottom of 0 or < 0.
Positioned(
child: FlatButton(
color: Colors.red,
child: Text("Press Me"),
onPressed: () {},
),
right: 0,
left: 0,
bottom: 0,
)
I found out that the "bottom" attribute set to 0 will offset the widget by exactly 0.5*height of the widget.
I want to scale the text in my flutter application according to various devices size or devicePixelRatio value. I know flutter should scale text according to devicePixelRatio value, so I change my code in that way, but it's not working in my code.
Here is my code:
class MyHomePage extends StatefulWidget {
#override
MyHomePageState createState() => new MyHomePageState();
}
class MyHomePageState extends State<MyHomePage> {
#override
Widget build(BuildContext context) {
TextStyle style50 = new TextStyle(
inherit: true,
fontSize: 50.0,
color: Colors.white,
);
TextStyle style19 = new TextStyle(
inherit: true,
color: Colors.white,
fontSize: 19.0,
fontFamily: 'helvetica_neue',
);
TextStyle style15White = new TextStyle(
inherit: true,
color: Colors.white,
fontSize: 15.0,
fontFamily: 'helvetica_neue',
);
TextStyle style15Green = new TextStyle(
inherit: true,
color: Colors.green,
fontSize: 15.0,
fontFamily: 'helvetica_neue',
);
return new Scaffold(
body: new Container(
decoration: new BoxDecoration(
image: new DecorationImage(
image: new AssetImage("assets/images/home_page_background.png"),
fit: BoxFit.cover,
),
),
child: new Container(
child: new Column(
crossAxisAlignment: CrossAxisAlignment.stretch,
mainAxisAlignment: MainAxisAlignment.center,
children: <Widget>[
new Container(
margin: new EdgeInsets.only(top: 160.0),
child: new Text(
'JAHMAIKA',
textAlign: TextAlign.center,
style: style50,
),
),
new Container(
margin: new EdgeInsets.only(top: 230.0),
child: new FlatButton(
child: new Container(
padding: new EdgeInsets.only(
left: 45.0, right: 45.0, top: 15.0, bottom: 15.0),
decoration: new BoxDecoration(
shape: BoxShape.rectangle,
borderRadius: new BorderRadius.all(
new Radius.elliptical(40.0, 50.0)),
border: new Border.all(
color: Colors.white,
),
),
child: new Text(
'Create an account',
style: style19,
),
),
onPressed: () {
Navigator.push(
context,
new MaterialPageRoute(
builder: (context) => new SignUpPage()),
);
}),
),
new Container(
margin: new EdgeInsets.only(top: 16.0),
child: new Row(
mainAxisAlignment: MainAxisAlignment.center,
children: <Widget>[
new Container(
child: new Text(
'Already have an account?',
textAlign: TextAlign.center,
style: style15White,
),
),
new GestureDetector(
onTap: () {
Navigator.push(
context,
new MaterialPageRoute(
builder: (context) => new SignInPage()),
);
},
child: new Container(
margin: new EdgeInsets.only(left: 16.0),
child: new Text('Login',
textAlign: TextAlign.center, style: style15Green),
),
),
],
),
),
],
),
)),
);
}
}
But this is not working. There is no change in the text font size in various devices. Please help me.
Have you tried computing the fontSize based on a proportion of MediaQuery.of(context).size.width ?
Set the sizes using a base device, and use it's width to calculate the other devices proportional sizes.
...
Widget build(BuildContext context) {
// 414.0 is the width of an iPhone 7plus
double fs = 50.0 * MediaQuery.of(context).size.width / 414.0;
// print("MediaQuery.of(context).size.width=${MediaQuery.of(context).size.width}");
// print("fs=$fs");
TextStyle style50 = new TextStyle(
inherit: true,
fontSize: fs,
color: Colors.white,
);
...
