Currently i have the below code in index view
<div id = "GetEmails"><%= mail_to "xyz#gmail.com" do %><strong>Send Mail</strong><% end %></div>
In runtime, I am updating the value of mailto: which consists of more than 1000
+email address
Now, when I click on "Send Mail", outlook is not getting opened by copying all the email address in To: field
But, if the number of email address are < 100, the on click of "Send Mail" I am able to copy all the email address in To: filed
Manually, I am able to copy more than 3000 email address.
How do I get copy all the email address in To line by clicking "Send Mail".
The mailto:(as any other URL) has a character limit for the URL, it's vary from browser to browser, or from E-Mail client to E-Mail client.
Please try to use JS.
You could have a HTML element with data attribute where all emails would be stored and then try this:
<div id="my-mails-storing-element-id" data-mails="person1#domain.com, person2#domain.com,person3#domain.com"></div>
var mailsDom = document.getElementById("my-mails-storing-element-id")
location.href = mailto:mailsDom.dataset.mails;
But it would be better if you create separate action in your controller to get those emails. Then you just need to make AJAX call to get mails data.
I hope it'd help you. Please let me now if it worked (I've tried with Mailspring mail client and it worked)

This is a similar question to this link, but slightly different:
Skipping blank emails in Google Apps Script Mail Merge
I have a form/sheet set up that, when the users fills out the form, it generates a receipt email (does not contain the form contents as some receipts do) that is then sent to the recipient. However when the user leaves this field blank I get a form trigger error, which is understandable why the script didn't finish. I am trying to figure out how to keep the script from attempting to send an email when the recipient/email field is blank. Unfortunately, making the email field required on the form is not an option since, oddly, not everyone would have an email address (if this were an option I would certainly just require an email address to be entered).
I have tried the following code snippet based on the link provided above.
// Send Email to recipient(s) declared above in #var sendEmail
if (e.values[11] != null) {
var sendEmail = e.values[11]; //email field column
var subject = "subject message";
var body = "body message";
MailApp.sendEmail(sendEmail, subject, body, {
name: "Community Home Health Care",
body: body,
noReply: true,
})
I have also tried instead of
(e.values[11] != null)
using
(e.values[11] != "")
The remaining code I have omitted (goes above what I have shown) simply takes the form field responses and generates a document converted to a PDF which works as expected. The email section also works, just trying to eliminate the failed script emails I get occasionally.
Thanks
First is an assumption that 12 items are passed (0 through 11) and the email is the last item to be passed. If that is the case, then test that the item is defined with:
if(typeof e.values[11] !== 'undefined')
If you are using the Mail Merge Tutorial linked to in the post you linked to, and using the getRowsData() function to get your form responses, you should be able to use the Header of the column containing the email address such as e.values.emailAddress and get:
if(typeof e.values.emailAddress !== 'undefined')
This may vary based on how your data is defined.
I'm currently working on the imap class by barbushin. It's the only php class over the internet I can find regardless to any encoding issue. Thanks to the coder.
I have a list of messages in a table. Each message sending a message id as GET (say $mid). When a link clicked, the page turned into a view page. It should open that message and display the relevant content right? But it is not. Every message has the same content (the 1st content). The code is designed for gmail but I use it for my client. And it's work.
This is a code:
require_once('../ImapMailbox.php');
define('EMAIL', 'my#domain.com');
define('PASSWORD', '*********');
define('ATTACHMENTS_DIR', dirname(__FILE__) . '/attachments');
$mailbox = new ImapMailbox('{imap.gmail.com:993/imap/ssl}INBOX', EMAIL, PASSWORD, ATTACHMENTS_DIR, 'utf-8');
$mails = array();
// Get some mail
$mailsIds = $mailbox->searchMailBox('ALL');
if(!$mailsIds) {
die('Mailbox is empty');
}
$mailId = reset($mailsIds);
$mail = $mailbox->getMail($mailId);
var_dump($mail);
var_dump($mail->getAttachments());
The original is here: https://github.com/barbushin/php-imap
Finally, I found my way home. According to the script there's a line says "mailId". Which is straight forward what is it about.
It was set to the first array by reset(). So the only thing I need to do is extract the message id from it ($mailId is an array of ids). So I simply add an array behind it.
$mailId=$mailsIds[$_GET[uid]];
While $_GET[uid] is a message id sent from a previous page.
I have a website that outputs Excel reports with hyperlinks back to secure content. One of the links would look like this...
http://www.[site].com/externalLinkDigester?externalSession=[SHA Encrypted Text]
The query string argument (externalSession) is a unique alphanumeric string that is only valid for 24 hours and can only be accessed by the user who created the report. My controller looks something like this...
class ExternalLinkDigester{
def springSecurityService;
def index = {
def currentUser = springSecurityService?.currentUser
if (!currentUser){
redirect(controller:'login')
}
def request = ExternalSession.findByName(params.externalSession);
if (request.isExpired(){
//show expired content page
}
if (sameUser(currentUser, request.user){
//show content
}else{
redirect(controller:'login')
}
}
}
The problem is that no matter what the springSecurityService.currentUser is always null when coming form an external program like Excel even when I am logged before clicking the link however, if I copy and paste the link into the browser it seems to work fine. Help!
How can I securely access content this way?
Is it possible that Excel is opening up a different browser than the one you logged in with (eg. you logged in with Firefox and when clicking the link within excel, it defaults to opening the link within Internet Explorer). The new browser will not have the session cookie for the authenticated session so "currentUser" will appear as null.
I'm using the following code to embed images into my MailMessage. What I'm trying to do is embed documents (pdf or docx) into the email.
I've tried hyperlink with a link to href="cdi:myDoc.pdf" but that doesn't work. I've also tried using MailMessage.Attachments.Add() but adds the documents in the attachments section instead of embeding the document in the message.
Anyone how to embed a document in the mailmessage? I know Outlook is able to place the attachments in the body of the message but I can't figure how to do it through mailMessage.
Thanks Susan
Sub MultiPartMime()
Dim mail As New MailMessage()
mail.From = New MailAddress("me#mycompany.com")
mail.To.Add("you#yourcompany.com")
mail.Subject = "This is an email"
Dim htmlView As AlternateView = AlternateView.CreateAlternateViewFromString("<b>this is bold text, and viewable by <img src=""cdi:companylogo""> those mail clients that support html</b>", Nothing, "text/html")
LinkedResource logo = new LinkedResource( "c:\temp\logo.gif" )
logo.ContentId = "companylogo"
htmlView.LinkedResources.Add(logo)
mail.AlternateViews.Add(htmlView)
'send the message
Dim smtp As New SmtpClient("127.0.0.1") 'specify the mail server address
smtp.Send(mail)
End Sub 'MultiPartMime
Try using cid: instead of cdi:. That is one error that comes to mind.
try to use
href="cid:companylogo
(with "cid" instead of "cdi" Like Jakob Mygind suggested) and set it to the contentId that you specified for the LinkedResource.
Also when setting the path to the file, it is good to use the HostingEnvironment.MapPath() method (which is the same of Url.Content() of web projects. It would go with something something like:
LinkedResource logo = new LinkedResource(HostingEnvironment.MapPath("c:\temp\logo.gif"));
Hope it helps!

How do I prevent people from entering their email address in the description field by replacing their email to some wordings, for example if user entered the following text:
Please contact me via joe.joey#email.com.
I want the output to be:
Please contact me via <email address is blocked>.
I know of a basic str_replace but the output would simply be:
//output is Please contact me via joe.joey <email address is blocked> email.com
$string = 'Please contact me via joe.joey#email.com.';
$lookfor = '#';
$replacewith = '<email address is blocked>';
$newstring = str_replace($lookfor, $replacewith, $string);
thanks.
This is a perfect time to use preg_replace. I've slightly simplified the requirements for a valid email here (emails can be horridly complex), but something like:
$newstring = preg_replace("/[\w-]+#([\w-]+\.)+[\w-]+/", $replacewith, $string);
