I've come across an issue that I'm pretty sure it's just where I'm setting my object value, however, I can't seem to get this to work.
I'm attempting to put the Δ character in the highcharts.js category as seen in this code snippet below:
Highcharts.chart('container', {
chart: {
type: 'bar'
},
title: {
text: 'Catawba Average Points'
},
xAxis: {
categories: ['Emergency TS Δs', 'Column B', 'Column C', 'Column D', 'Column E', 'Column F', 'Column G'],
labels: {
useHtml: true
}
},
plotOptions: {
bar: {
stacking: 'normal',
groupPadding: 0.10,
pointPadding: 0,
dataLabels: {
enabled: true,
alignt: 'right',
formatter: function() {
if (this.y != 0) {
return this.y;
}
}
}
}
},
series: [{
name: '(-) Var',
data: [0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 2, 0, 0],
color: '#ffa6a6',
stack: '2017Q3',
showInLegend: false
}, {
name: '(+) Var',
data: [0, 0, 0, 0, .1, 0, 0, 5.10],
color: '#a6e3c2',
stack: '2017Q2',
showInLegend: false
}, {
name: '2017Q3',
color: '#d9d9d9',
data: [10, 15, 10, 10, 3.1, 0, 25, 15],
stack: '2017Q3'
}, {
name: '2017Q2',
color: '#f2f2f2',
data: [10, 15, 10, 10, 3.0, 2, 25, 9.90],
stack: '2017Q2'
}]
});
<script src="https://code.highcharts.com/highcharts.js"></script>
<div id="container" style="min-width: 310px; height: 600px; margin: 0 auto"></div>
I've tried putting the useHtml in several places to no avail. Any thoughts to what I'm doing wrong?
Here is a fiddle to play around with as well:
http://jsfiddle.net/crk3vn76/
EDIT
Note, the data comes from a database, and if I put the Δ in directly, it renders as a ?
EDIT 2
Okay, so this will work if I set my charset to utf-8 in the database and put the Δ directly in there. However, I'd still like to figure out how to do this using the html character code.
Creating my own JSFiddle to work with, it appears the configuration useHTML is case-sensitive and changing useHTML to useHTML correctly creates Δ in the categories
Highcharts.chart('container', {
chart: {
type: 'bar'
},
title: {
text: 'Catawba Average Points'
},
xAxis: {
categories: ['Emergency TS Δs', 'Column B', 'Column C', 'Column D', 'Column E', 'Column F', 'Column G'],
labels: {
useHTML: true
}
},
plotOptions: {
bar: {
stacking: 'normal',
groupPadding: 0.10,
pointPadding: 0,
dataLabels: {
enabled: true,
alignt: 'right',
formatter: function() {
if (this.y != 0) {
return this.y;
}
}
}
}
},
series: [{
name: '(-) Var',
data: [0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 2, 0, 0],
color: '#ffa6a6',
stack: '2017Q3',
showInLegend: false
}, {
name: '(+) Var',
data: [0, 0, 0, 0, .1, 0, 0, 5.10],
color: '#a6e3c2',
stack: '2017Q2',
showInLegend: false
}, {
name: '2017Q3',
color: '#d9d9d9',
data: [10, 15, 10, 10, 3.1, 0, 25, 15],
stack: '2017Q3'
}, {
name: '2017Q2',
color: '#f2f2f2',
data: [10, 15, 10, 10, 3.0, 2, 25, 9.90],
stack: '2017Q2'
}]
});
<script src="https://code.highcharts.com/highcharts.js"></script>
<div id="container" style="min-width: 310px; height: 600px; margin: 0 auto"></div>
You could try the unicode representation as \u0394. This appears to work with labels.useHTML: true.
Highcharts.chart('container', {
chart: {
type: 'bar'
},
title: {
text: 'Catawba Average Points'
},
xAxis: {
categories: ['Emergency TS \u0394s', 'Column B', 'Column C', 'Column D', 'Column E', 'Column F', 'Column G'],
labels: {useHtml: true}
},
plotOptions: {
bar: {
stacking: 'normal',
groupPadding: 0.10,
pointPadding: 0,
dataLabels: {
enabled: true,
alignt: 'right',
formatter: function(){
if(this.y != 0){
return this.y;
}
}
}
}
},
series: [{
name: '(-) Var',
data: [0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 2, 0, 0],
color: '#ffa6a6',
stack: '2017Q3'
}, {
name: '(+) Var',
data: [0, 0, 0, 0, .1, 0, 0, 5.10],
color: '#a6e3c2',
stack: '2017Q2'
}, {
name: '2017Q3',
color: '#d9d9d9',
data: [10, 15, 10, 10, 3.1, 0, 25, 15],
stack: '2017Q3'
}, {
name: '2017Q2',
color: '#f2f2f2',
data: [10, 15, 10, 10, 3.0, 2, 25, 9.90],
stack: '2017Q2'
}]
});

I have a sample highchart and I want to add the five text boxes with different colors at the bottom of the chart.
<div id="container" style="min-width: 310px; height: 400px; margin: 0 auto"></div>
Highcharts.chart('container', {
chart: {
type: 'column'
},
title: {
text: 'Stacked column chart'
},
xAxis: {
categories: ['Apples', 'Oranges', 'Pears', 'Grapes', 'Bananas']
},
yAxis: {
min: 0,
title: {
text: 'Total fruit consumption'
}
},
tooltip: {
pointFormat: '<span style="color:{series.color}">{series.name}</span>: <b>{point.y}</b> ({point.percentage:.0f}%)<br/>',
shared: true
},
plotOptions: {
column: {
stacking: 'percent'
}
},
series: [{
name: 'Excellent',
data: [5, 3, 4, 1, 2]
}, {
name: 'Poor',
data: [2, 2, 9, 2, 1]
},
{
name: 'Fair',
data: [5, 3, 1, 7, 2]
}, {
name: 'Good',
data: [2, 2, 3, 6, 1]
}, {
name: 'Very good',
data: [3, 4, 8, 2, 5]
} ]
});
You can use the annotations module to add the text boxes:
annotations: [{
labelOptions: {
y: 0,
overflow: 'none',
shape: 'rect'
},
labels: [{
point: {
x: 50,
y: 280
},
backgroundColor: 'red',
text: 'some text'
}, {
point: {
x: 250,
y: 280
},
backgroundColor: 'blue',
text: 'some text'
}]
}]

1st drilldown legend show date is correct
2nd drilldown I want to show legend users
3rd drilldown I want to show legend for color filter
Please help me to add legend for show legend filter by color Red , Green and Blue of 3rd drilldown like this image : 3rd Drilldown
I have resolved problem by answer of ppotaczek.
In your example, the third level of drilldown is one series, that is why the legend show only one item. If you want to have multiple legend items on drilldown, you have to have multiple series. You can use drilldown event and addSeriesAsDrilldown method, like in the example below to achieve needed result.

Best regards!
Thank you so much.
I have a need with HighCharts graphs to display a line chart with 3 series and triangle markers on the same line. I have this a JSFiddle that seems to be working ok, but if the points are too close together a whole series becomes invisible.
$(function () {
$('#container').highcharts({
title: {
text: null
},
chart: {
type: 'line',
plotBackgroundImage: null,
backgroundColor: 'transparent',
width: 350,
height: 520,
borderWidth: 0,
marginTop: 0,
marginBottom: 50,
marginLeft: 140,
},
legend: {
align: 'left',
verticalAlign: 'top',
layout: 'vertical',
x: 0,
y: 20
},
xAxis: {
type: 'datetime',
lineWidth: 2,
lineColor: "#FF0000",
label: {
enabled: true,
format: "{value}"
}
},
yAxis: {
labels: {
enabled: false
},
gridLineColor: '#197F07',
title: {
text: null
}
},
plotOptions: {
series: {
marker: {
radius: 8,
symbol: "triangle"
}
},
line: {
lineWidth: 0
}
},
series: [{
data: [
[Date.UTC(2010, 0, 1), 0],
[Date.UTC(2010, 5, 1), 0],
[Date.UTC(2010, 11, 1), 0]
],
color: "#FF0000",
name: 'Group 1',
}, {
data: [
[Date.UTC(2010, 2, 1), 0],
[Date.UTC(2010, 3, 1), 0],
[Date.UTC(2010, 8, 1), 0]
],
color: "#00FF00",
name: 'Group 2'
}, {
data: [
[Date.UTC(2010, 1, 1), 0],
[Date.UTC(2010, 6, 1), 0],
[Date.UTC(2010, 9, 1), 0],
[Date.UTC(2011, 5, 1), 0]
],
color: "#0000FF",
name: 'Group 3'
}]
});
});
In this case, on the jsfiddle, the green triangles are invisible unless you hover over them. If the chart width is set to 550, the green triangles become visible.
I'd like to find a way to make these visible at all times. Thanks!
I'm not sure why this problem occurs originally, but it seems to be solved by explicitly stating enabled: true for plotOptions.series.marker. Like this:
plotOptions: {
series: {
marker: {
enabled: true, // Added
radius: 8,
symbol: "triangle"
}
},
line: {
lineWidth: 0
}
}
See this updated JSFiddle demonstration.
I have a problem with a highcharts graph, regarding overlapping of multiple axes.
There are 2 types of series, one type column and one type line. I want the line type to be always above the others and never intersect them.

I have some problem with IE 7 to show the chart I designed by Highstock.
When I've tried to design the chart and see it on Chrome, it does not have any problem.
Here is the chart which is exactly I want to see.

However, when I've tried to see it on IE 7, it shows like this.

There is some Korean character, please do not mind about it.
Can anyone help me to solve this problem?
It looks like bug with plotLines in Highcharts, reported: https://github.com/highslide-software/highcharts.com/issues/1478
Possible workaround is to add plotLine in callback, see example: http://jsfiddle.net/f9aTL/12/ (still not perfect solution)
Callback:
function (chart) {
chart.yAxis[0].addPlotLine({
value: 90, // DB 에서 평가 기준 받아와 저장 필요
width: 3,
color: 'red',
dashStyle: 'Dash',
label: {
text: '평가기준',
align: 'top',
y: -4,
x: 12
}
});
});
