How to extract Jenkinsfile by a custom script? - jenkins

I've created a Jenkins job of type "Pipeline", and used an inline pipeline script. Now I'd like to put the script under version control and use the "Pipeline script from SCM" option (I think, I don't have to describe the merits of this).
However, our version control system (CA SCM) is not well supported in Jenkins: I couldn't make the plugin to check out anything.
We do have, however, some scripts for working with CA SCM that allow to check out things reliably.
So, my question is: Is it possible (and how) to have the Jenkinsfile under version control, do the check out for it by a custom script (e.g. using a .bat command) and then have the pipeline executed as if the Jenkinsfile had been extracted by the "Pipeline script from SCM" option?
I.e., as I understand it, I need a command in the pipeline plugin to execute a given Jenkinsfile.

You could try to use the feature "Prepare an environment for the build" from the "Environment Injector Plugin" (https://wiki.jenkins-ci.org/display/JENKINS/EnvInject+Plugin) and provide a script file (or inlined content) to execute.

Jenkins Multibranch Pipeline: script / jenkinsfile as svn external

I have a multibranch pipeline in Jenkins. I want to include my script file (jenkinsfile) as svn file external into my development branches to organize the script centralized for all branches. Unfortunately the scan of the multibranch pipeline isn't able to find the script file as it is only looking inside the declared branch and not in the included svn external locations.
Has anyone an idea how can I fix this?
Below is an example of my svn structure, job config and further information.

I already tried to disable the lightweight checkout of the subversion scm plugin according to this advice:
Multibranch pipeline with jenkinsfile in svn:external
(I've added -Djenkins.scm.impl.subversion.SubversionSCMFileSystem.disable=true under <service><arguments>... in jenkins.xml)
But jenkins is still not able to find the script. And in fact if I put my script directly in e.g. branchX the disabled lightweight checkout leads to a double checkout into my workspace (first one to read the script file and second one as it's my first stage in the script itself).
Maybe my whole setup is wrong too or not the ideal way of doing?

If you are working on a linux or bsd(osx) system, you could create a hard-link from root/scripts/jenkinsfile to root/code/version#/branchX/jenkinsfile for each active branch
That way, each branch will have its own jenkinsfile available locally, enabling you to use the lightweight checkout, and any change you introduce to the jenkinsfile in any location will be available to all other branches (the file system will keep a single copy of the file, regardless of being accessible form many different locations).
The bash command to create such link will be
ln root/scripts/jenkinsfile root/code/version#/branchX/jenkinsfile
You will need to remember to create a new link each time a branch is created, or automate that using hooks

How to compile Jenkins Pipeline Groovy locally?

Does anyone have the magic maven/gradle invocation to compile a set of jenkins pipeline DSL groovy files?
Groovy is not compiled (like C#), it is interpreted.
Depending on exactly what you are trying to test potential options are:
Jenkins Groovy Script Console under Manage Jenkins. Note: You will need to be an Admin to be able to access this.
Pipeline Syntax Generator. It is improving. Go to a build of Pipeline job and in the LHS menu you will see a 'Pipeline Syntax' link. Some items require you to first select Pipeline: Steps from the first dropdown.

Paramertized Build - Jenkins Pipeline

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
I have just started to look at the Jenkins pipeline and am trying to work out how to trigger a parameterized build for a job that already exists using the Jenkinsfile
In my Jenkinsfile i have

I need to be able to pass a branch name from the Jenkinsfile config to the job that is running? If i am misunderstanding anything then please let me know

Instead of starting with a Jenkinsfile, it's easier to start with a pipeline job in which you can directly edit the pipeline script. By clicking the 'Pipeline Syntax' link you can open the snippet generator, where you can generate the Groovy for a particular step:
This Snippet Generator will help you learn the Groovy code which can be used to define various steps. Pick a step you are interested in from the list, configure it, click Generate Groovy, and you will see a Groovy statement that would call the step with that configuration. You may copy and paste the whole statement into your script, or pick up just the options you care about. (Most parameters are optional and can be omitted in your script, leaving them at default values.)
In the configuration page select 'This project is parameterized' and sleect parameter type and enter parameter name
You can access this new parameter value in you jenkinsfile using 'env.parameterName'

Jenkins how to create pipeline manual step

Prior Jenkins2 I was using Build Pipeline Plugin to build and manually deploy application to server.
Old configuration:
That works great, but I want to use new Jenkins pipeline, generated from groovy script (Jenkinsfile), to create manual step.
So far I came up with input jenkins step.
Used jenkinsfile script:

But this waits for user input, noting that build is not completed. I could add timeout to input, but this won't allow me to pick/trigger a build and deploy it later on:
How can I achive same/similiar result for manual step/trigger with new jenkins-pipeline as prior with Build Pipeline Plugin?
This is a huge gap in the Jenkins Pipeline capabilities IMO. Definitely hard to provide due to the fact that a pipeline is a single job. One solution might be to "archive" the workspace as an "artifact" (tar and archive **/* as 'workspace.tar.gz'), and then have another pipeline copy the artifact and and untar it into the new workspace. This allows the second pipeline to pickup where the previous one left off. Of course there is no way to gauentee that the second pipeline cannot be executed out of turn or more than once. Which is too bad. The Delivery Pipeline Plugin really shines here. You execute a new pipeline right from the view - instead of the first job. Anyway - not much of an answer - but its the path I'm going to try.

Calling a Scriptler script within another Scriptler script

I'm using the Scriptler plugin for Jenkins, and am having a hard time finding any information on how to share the scriptler scripts I'm writing between scripts. I've tried using the ScriptHelper from the Scriptler API, but have run into issues when passing in arguments to the script.
Anyone else come across this and solve it? Is there a standard way to do this (without calling the Jenkins REST API) to execute a script?
More Details
We have a full build MultiJob that contains many phase jobs, each with their own artifacts, with a 3 day time to live on them. When a this full build job is promoted, a scriptler runs against it, pulling each of the phase jobs artifacts into the full build job. By doing so, we can keep the full build alive forever, without changing the lifetime on the artifacts for each phase job (essentially 'keep this build forever' on the full build, ignoring the lifetimes set in the phase jobs.
We also want to pull these artifacts into a deploy job. The idea is that we can point a deploy job to a full build, and it will pull out the artifacts we specify. If the full build is promoted, this script will pull the artifacts directly from the full build job, otherwise, it will pull them from the internal phase jobs. Since we have 2 scripts that work with MultiJobs, I would like to be able to share this code between them.
The script would take a MultiJob name and build number, and return the individual phase job's build numbers, build statuses, and artifact information.
This is possible using Groovy capabilities, though I don't know if Scripler supports it directly. If you are running on the master node, you can use Groovy evaluate. Scriptler scripts are stored as Groovy files on the file system of the master node in the $JENKINS_HOME/scriptler/scripts directory. The Scripter ID is the function name within that directory.
Here is a very simple example. It uses two files. The first is the parameterized function, findByScm.groovy, which finds jobs using a give source control type. The second script, findByGitScm.groovy will evaluate the first function for Git SCMs and print the results.
