I recently realized in the terminal that my swift version was swift 3.0 (swift-3.0-GM-CANDIDATE). I have already updated to xcode 8.3 and I know xcode 8.3 comes with swift 3.1, so I checked the xcode toolchain set in xcode preference pane and it was set to xcode 8.3, but when i opened the directory containing the toolchains i found out that the latest xcode toolchain file was just a alias that points back to the swift-3.0-GM-CANDIDATE.xtoolchain. What do I do, do i download the standalone xcode 8.3 toolchain and install?

I am trying to use an old swift toolchain in Xcode 14:
But then I am not able to use Swift 3.0 in a new project:
Is this normal? If so, how can I know which old toolchains are compatible with Xcode (different from the toolchain included by default by Xcode)?
I am running Visual Studio for Mac Preview v17.4 with MAUI workload, but when I try to run the hello world app on my iOS 15 device I get an error to downgrade to a lower version but I can't do so in the project build settings because the only available version is 16.
Any ideas how to add iOS 15 build targets to VS for Mac MAUI?
There's a bug right now where the simulator dropdown is reading from the Info.plist file. Add an entry into your Info.plist file for the following property https://developer.apple.com/documentation/bundleresources/information_property_list/minimumosversion that matches the Minimum OS Version you've selected for your iOS target. You might have to restart vsmac or unload/reload your project. After doing this your lower version simulators should show up.
I beleive you have Xcode 14 . So download Xcode 13.4.1 version and select this Xcode in the path to see the simulators coming back. For now .netmaui is not completely supporting xcode 14. They are working to target Xcode 14. For now jus downgrade Xcode version below 14.
I have a macOS version 10.13.6, so the only version of Xcode I can download is 10.1.
Now when I create a new iOS project with Cordova and try opening it with Xcode, I get this error:
The project at 'project-location' cannot be opened because it is in a future Xcode project file format. Adjust the project format using a compatible version of Xcode to allow it to be opened by this version of Xcode.
How can I adjust the project to run on Xcode version 10.1 if I can't open it in Xcode in the first place?
According to the Cordova iOS Platform Guide, Cordova requires Xcode 11 or later so you can't use it with Xcode 10.1.
Good Day,
Lastweek i updated my Xcode from 8.2 to 8.3, In my project i used swift 2.3 version. I tried to use multiple version of xcode to my Mac but when i use the older version of Xcode i can't run the project on devices that has iOS Version 10.3.1
I don't know how to run swift 2.3 to iOS Version 10.3.1
Note: My Project still not uploaded on App Store.
Thanks
You need DeveloperDiskImage for iOS version 10.3 to run your project on device(iOS 10.3) using xcode 8.2.
Download Xcode 8.3.2 from here and copy 10.3 (14E269) folder inside DeviceSupport from the downloaded Xcode using path Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/ and paste it into Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/ path in your existing Xcode 8.2 in Finder.
It's said in release note clearly that Xcode 8.3 no longer supports Swift 2.3 version. So you need to migrate your projects containing Swift 2.3 code to Swift 3 syntax by opening the project and choosing Edit > Convert > To Current Swift Syntax.
I have 2 XCodes installed on my Mac say Xcode 6.1 and Xcode 5.1. I use Xcode 6.1 iOS for development. For some bugs raised in iOS 7 I am in the need of iOS 7 simulator. Do I download Xcode 7 simulator When I have my iOS 7.1 simulator with my Xcode 5.1, or Would Xcode 6.1 will work When I copy my simulator from 5.1 to 6.1 ?
If that is possible tell me how?
Tnx in advance
For iOS version greater then 13
/Applications/OldXcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/SDKs
Copy the simulator sdk you want, and paste it on the same path as above in another XCode version and rename sdk according to version.
Like For example i have version 13.3 i have to copy it to new xcode with version 13.4
Following will be the final path /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/SDKs/iPhoneSimulator13.3.sdk
Also copy the runtime iOS.simruntime from
/Applications/OldXcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Profiles
or
/Applications/OldXcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Profiles/Runtimes
and paste it to the following path
/Users/waqasahmed/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Profiles
or
/Users/waqasahmed/Library/Developer/CoreSimulator/Profiles/Runtimes
and rename it according to the version like for version 13.3 it will be iOS 13.3.simruntime
Open path:
/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/SDKs
copy the simulator sdk you want, and paste it on the same path as above in another XCode version.
You need to install the necessary simulators in each version of Xcode separately. Can use Xcode>Preference> Downloads option.
It is not possible to use the iOS 6 simulator runtime in new Xcode 7. The iOS 6 simulator runtime is not compatible with the new CoreSimulator architecture.
