Need assistance regarding app store search ads - ios

Apple Docs says:
Who can use Search Ads
If you’re a developer with an app currently on the app Store for
iPhone or iPad in the U.S., or an agency that manages campaigns on
behalf of developers, you may be eligible to use Search Ads.
Does it means only developers from U.S are eligible?

YES, currently only US registered developers have the feature access. (Rumours are it will be globally available after the March '17 event)

Is Apple In-App Purchase required for apps using auto-renewing subscription?

I am developing an iOS application where all payment related things are on existing website, our app don't have any payment related thing in it. A user adds payment details on website and select appropriate plan and can use it on both website and iOS app.
So please tell me that if i have nothing on app for using In-App purchase then it will be get approved on app store or get rejected just because app is not giving them their 30% share?
I need some expert advise...
I just read through that exact section of the developer guidelines, and it confirms that that is prohibited. A recent example of such apps being rejected: apps using Dropbox were being rejected (the Dropbox API had a button that could navigate users to their website to upgrade their account instead of having it take place in-app, where Apple would have gotten a percentage).
A quote from that article:
In case you’re wondering what the reasoning these apps are getting for rejection, here’s what Apple is responding with:
11.13
We found that your app provides access to external mechanisms for purchases or subscriptions to be used in the app, which is not in compliance with the App Store Review Guidelines.
Specifically, your app enables to user to create accounts with Dropbox and Google.
Well that sucks. Apparently at some point when using an app that utilizes the Dropbox SDK, you can create an account for the service if you don’t already have one. At that point, there’s a link to a desktop version of Dropbox that lets you upgrade your account. That’s exactly what Apple isn’t a fan of.
My suggestion would be to make them available for purchase via an in-app purchase, charge 30% more for it (so you make the same amount as if the user made the purchase on the web or on Android), but make the user's job post last for 30% more time. This isn't quite fair for you because, if you make $100 off John for an 30-day listing, you would still only make $100 off me for a 39-day listing (assuming I bought the listing via the iOS app). That said, there is no incentive for me to pay for the listing via the iOS app because I am paying $130 (30% more than John) for it and the additional days.
Best of luck.

The link on App Store Review Guidelines mentions:
3.1.3(b) Multiplatform Services: Apps that operate across multiple platforms may allow users to access content, subscriptions, or features they have acquired
elsewhere, including consumable items in multi-platform games, provided those
items are also available as in-app purchases within the app. You must not directly or indirectly target iOS users to use a purchasing method other than in-app purchase, and your general communications about other purchasing methods must not discourage use of in-app purchase.
I am not sure how Netflix does this. New users cannot signup on iOS App, but can sign up on website, purchase subscriptions and use in iOS App.

How to Collect Charitable Donations from a Native iOS App?

I am working on an app that needs to have functionality to collect charitable donations.
Apple Pay on the Web: Acceptable Use Guidelines
I found at the above link that collection of charitable donations is prohibited with Apple Pay.
App Store Review Guidelines
Here in Section 3.2.2 it states that you cant use In-App Purchases to collect charitable donations.
I have found another StackOverflow post that brushes on my question here.
So, according to the Rules and Regulations, I know that I cant use in app Purchases for Charitable Donations. I also know that I can't use Apple Pay.
What is the best way to prompt a user to donate without forcing them to manually enter all of their payment info into an online form?
I have looked a little bit at Apple Wallet, but the only way that would work is if someone already has their card set up and it will help AutoFill the information. Correct me if I am wrong, but this is what I have understood.
Additionally, is there any reason Apple has given as to why it is so difficult to give charitable donations? A coworker is doing the same thing for Android and hasn't run into nearly as many roadblocks as I have.
The answer is no. Apple doesn't let you its in their rules:
21) Charities and contributions Apps that include the ability to make
donations to recognized charitable organizations must be free The
collection of donations must be done via a web site in Safari or an
SMS
You can call the app review department in California: (408) 996-1010 OR (512) 674-2000, but I highly doubt you'll get any luck.
My advice would be the following:
Get creative and find some simple feature/service that you can add to your service that you can sell with an IAP/Apple Wallet that provides some simple benefit to the member, and you market that as all proceeds going towards the cause your raising money for. As long as your actually delivering some digital good within your app, I don't think Apple can dictate what you actually do with the money, you just can't take money for nothing using their service.
See this similar post: How can I handle donations through iOS?
You might want to check section 21 more closely. If your app is free to use you may be able to get around it. Or just call the review team directly. That would be fun.
Apple accepts charitable donations in-app now. You must sign up using Benevity.
Details are at https://developer.apple.com/apple-pay/nonprofits/
Apple does not allow in-app donations. You can redirect to a website (eg. PayPal), but this must happen outside the app.
Using Safari View Controller to open a webview within the app will be rejected.
Instead, force the URL to be handled by the device's default web browser - they will allow this.
In the meantime, Apple allowed donations by using Apple Pay within your app and website:
https://developer.apple.com/support/apple-pay-nonprofits/
So this should be doable without web views within iOS.
As per Apple's app-store rules, you cannot collect charities or donations from the native iOS app.
All is correct, you cannot accept money from within the app.
HOWEVER, as per feedback from my conservation app being rejected, was that they will NOT accept any payments within the app for charitable contributions. But, if you takes your customer to an external link, via webview (must be webview and not built into app) and from this webview site, they can create payments. If the charity you want to support has a website that accepts contributions, you can direct them there via with webview.

iOS enterprise app store, include a way to accept credit card payments

When developing an app for the iOS enterprise app store can you include a way to accept credit card payments?
Depending on what users are purchasing*, you should be just fine accepting payments in your app. Instead of trying to incorporate some type of payment library into the app I would recommend using a payment API that offloads the work. Take a look at http://stripe.com/ for an example of an excellent payment system designed for ease of integration. Their API reference even mentions integration with iPhone apps.
*If you are trying to sell features or services of the app itself you will almost definitely be running afoul of Apple's guidelines, but based on the fact that you said "products" I am assuming this is not the case. In fact, while you must use the in-app purchase system for "content, functionality, or services in an app" you are specifically forbidden from using it for "physical goods or goods and services used outside of the application" (item 11.3 of Apple's App Store Review Guidelines).
You can use any technologies that that you would use in a regular app. PayPal, Square Pay, etc.

Log In with Apple ID

I am developing an Application where I want the user to log in with his/her Apple ID.
Is this possible? If so, how can I do this?
Apple introduced Sign In with Apple at their worldwide developer conference, WWDC 2019.
Here's how Apple describe it:
Sign In with Apple makes it easy for users to sign in to your apps and websites using their Apple ID. Instead of filling out forms, verifying email addresses, and choosing new passwords, they can use Sign In with Apple to set up an account and start using your app right away. All accounts are protected with two-factor authentication for superior security, and Apple will not track users’ activity in your app or website.
Sign In with Apple requires iOS 13 or later, iPadOS 13 or later, watchOS 6 or later, macOS Catalina 10.15 or later, and tvOS 13 or later.
Nope, there is an standard API for this. You could use a UIWebView to make a user log in to an existing login form somewhere on apple.com, and then check for the subsequent success or failure URL, but that would probably be both brittle and rejected by the App Store approval process.
It is not possible currently. Your best bet is to submit a feature request at https://bugreport.apple.com/
If you want to authenticate users without setting up your own registration system, you could adopt Facebook Connect. Lots of people already use Facebook obviously, and you don't have to maintain the signup/forgot password/security stuff at all.
If you don't like Facebook, Google also offers a similar system. (see https://developers.google.com/accounts/docs/MobileApps)
Apple will probably never allow you to log in with the user's Apple ID.
You might be able to allow your users to log into Game Center. The user's Game Center account is tied to the AppleID, so users can be identified by your app that way. But this is assuming that you were actually building a game.
Apple's Game Center documentation is here: https://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#documentation/LanguagesUtilities/Conceptual/iTunesConnect_Guide/15_GameCenter/GameCenter.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/TP40011225-CH7-SW1
The App Store Review guidelines preclude using any information from Apple's services in your app, which is why it's dubious they would ever allow you to login with an Apple ID:
12. Scraping and aggregation
12.1
Applications that scrape any information from Apple sites (for example from apple.com, iTunes Store, App Store, iTunes Connect, Apple Developer Programs, etc) or create rankings using content from Apple sites and services will be rejected
If what you want to achieve is a seamless user experience between the user's different iOS devices without requiring the user to pick a username and password for your service you could maybe use iCloud. But of course it depends on what you are building. Apple provides some videos introducing the different iCloud APIs: https://developer.apple.com/icloud/documentation/

Will use of the PayPal iOS library get my app rejected?

I'm developing an iPhone app with a subscription model, and I saw this iOS PayPal library: Apple takes 30% of revenue of everything, but PayPal takes significantly less for micro-payments (maxing out at 10%). Naturally, I became interested.
I guess what I'm confused about is this: if Apple wants everyone to use the in-app purchase library for everything (as per this document), why does this PayPal library even exist? Wouldn't any app that used it get rejected?
Has anyone successfully published an app in the app store that uses this library? If so, what was the purchase for? Digital goods? Physical goods? Content?
quote from some forum:
Hello, Apple policy restricts from using our library for accepting
digital goods. Use our library should
be for hard goods, donations, personal
payments and services only.
I hope this clarifies your question.
Thank you.
Update on donations.
Apple has updated their policy (When?). You can no longer use PayPal iOS for donations.
Apple Store Review Guidelines (Retrieved 2014-10-02 05:25pm GMT):
Charities and contributions
21.1 Apps that include the ability to make donations to recognized charitable organizations must be free
21.2 The collection of charitable donations must be done via a web site in Safari or an SMS
There are things that you could sell by paypal in iphone apps, imagine that your app exists to promote your business, and not that your app IS your business. I mean...you have a library and use app as another channel to sell the books, or you have an hotel and use app to reserve and then pay the room! In that case you can use paypal.
You cannot use paypal, but you have to use instead in-app purchase, if you sell some additional feature for you app...
I hope this helps
