How can I watch Youtube Videos on repeat? - youtube

I had many times tried to watch some video on repeat. So far the solution was to watch the video on some other website that repeats the video. Is the YouTube capable of looping?

Found the answer
Right click the video.
This works for Flash and HTML5 videos.

You can also write this code in the browser console window to repeat video on loop. It offers more control.
var vid= document.querySelector("video.video-stream.html5-main-video")
vid.ontimeupdate = function(){if(vid.currentTime===vid.seekable.end(0)){vid.play()}}

Cannot replay YouTube video on mobile twice when rel=0

The rel parameter in YouTube API dictates whether or not related videos are shown at the end. When rel=0 the video reverts back to the thumbnail with a play button.
However on mobile (tested on iPhone / iPad / Fire Tablet) when the video goes back to the thumbnail it cannot be played a second time. It just does nothing.
I reported the issue to Google but nothing yet after a few days.
I had to resort to destroying the video and recreating it but this makes for a kind of nasty flickering.
My experience with YouTube issues is they never seem to end up fixing anything related to iOS - so I was wondering if there was any other kind of trick to prevent this.
Test page
The trouble with refreshing a webpage at a specific interval is that you dont know exactly when the video ends so you need to develop a method which the video player sends a signal when the video ends, which would then start the script to refresh the page. Otherwise you end up restarting it in the middle of the video. so personally, I would not even mess with refreshing the page. For Audio players it works ok because audio is smaller and streams more quicker. Video dont.... they always stop to buffer.
So YouTube API uses "Events" and "Listeners", so in particular, you need to design around the Event: "onStateChange".
When onStateChange = "ended" (zero) the video has ended, so then you reload the video player with the same video and set it to its Ready State again.
In theory its very easy you basically need to setup and control the entire video player through javascript. And the API gives examples on that.

Have a look at loop and playlist parameters as well. You can set playlist parameter to video ID and same video can be replayed using this.
So, it will be something like:
http://www.youtube.com/embed/{VIDEO_ID}?wmode=opaque&loop=1&version=3&playlist={VIDEO_ID}
Hope this helps!
Appears to have been fixed by YouTube.
I can now play the video multiple times (on multiple devices) without it getting stuck. Was too busy wondering why my question was getting so little attention that I forgot to check again to see if it was fixed ;-)

Playing Vimeo Videos with Custom Video Player in iOS

I have to play Vimeo videos in my iOS application using a video player. I need to log events like play, pause, seek etc. Its not possible to play using MPMoviePlayerController or AVPlayer as Vimeo videos have flash content. I am able to play using UIWebView. But, it is showing default Vimeo player controls. I need to have my own controls to play, pause etc as I need to log those events.
I have tried for lot of solutions. Nothing worked. If anyone knows how to play Vimeo videos using custom player. Please Let me know.
I am able to find out solution for this problem. I have used YTVimeoExtractor present here.
Its README.md file says following :
YTVimeoExtractor helps you get mp4 urls which can be use in iOS's native player. You can even choose between mobile, standard and high definition quality.
YTVimeoExtractor doesn't use UIWebView which makes it fast and clean.
I have used MKMoivePlayerViewController and its notifications - MPMoviePlayerPlaybackStateDidChangeNotification and ˚ notifications to get stop, pause events.
The only official way to use a player besides the Vimeo player to play Vimeo videos is to use third-party player urls provided to PRO members: https://vimeo.com/s/adg

Need youtube audio to continue to play when iOS app enters background

My app has a UIWebView that plays specific youtube content within the app. Some of these videos can be lengthy and are more audio centric (e.g. lectures and/or music). I'd like users of the app to be able to leave the app but have the audio of the youtube video continue to play, without the need for hitting a resume or play button. How can this be done? I'm willing to abandon the UIWebView if there is a better alternative.
Thank You.
I work on the same troube. The problem come from the mpmovieplayer which play the movie in ios.
An article of Matt Gallagher said:
"This pause is sent from the CALayer displaying the video frames. This is a private class for an MPMoviePlayerController and is your own AVPlayerLayer for an AVPlayer."

This article is very old (2011), but maybe the problem is similar.
Good luck

Play YouTube video in Flexslider slide and pause slideshow

I am using flexslider on a site and will be putting youtube videos in certain slides. However, I need the slider to stop animating while the video is playing, and resume when the video finishes. I understand that the developer has provided a solution to this exact problem using the vimeo API. Are there examples out there of an implementation using the youtube APIs? Is it possible? I am (obviously) not a javascript expert, and find that I learn best through examples/tutorials.
There's an example at https://developers.google.com/youtube/iframe_api_reference#Getting_Started for embedding an iframe YouTube player on a page, and responding to specific events. I think you should be able to adapt that to meet your needs.
Here is my option for Youtube and Vimeo, hope is help :)

How to play a youtube video list in ios natively

I need to play youtube video lists in an iphone app. I did a quick research but still could not find the answer. Most of the answers out there are about playing a single youtube video in iOS by embedding a youtube url in a HTML page and load it in a UIWebview. But it doesn't seem to be the way for playing a list. But I guess it's possible because there are apps that can do that.
Update: I managed to play a list in a UIWebView with iframe method, but it not what i set out to do. I need to play the video not in a full screen mode. Is there anyway to do so?
Thanks
Using UIWebView's internal MPMoviePlayerController, it may be possible to load the videos one by one by storing their URLs in an array and incrementing the array's object position when the finish event is sent internally by the iFrame's javascript. iFrame methods are documented here, and a way to inject a webview with javascript is shown here.
As for non-inline video playing (only fullscreen), set allowsInlineMediaPlayback to NO on the UIWebView.
