Get version of a Cocoapods-based library - ios

I publish my Swift library as a CocoaPod. For debugging purposes, I want to print my Pod's version string (spec.version) to console.
The following code works:
print(Bundle.init(for: MyClass.self)
.object(forInfoDictionaryKey: "CFBundleShortVersionString"))
... but it looks hackish, so maybe there's a better way.

ReferenceError: Metadata for "GoogleMaps.GMSGeometryDistance" found but symbol not available at runtime

I'm using the nativescript-google-maps-utils plugin in a NativeScript JavaScript project to access GoogleMapsUtils functions (GMSGeometryDistance, GMSGeometryInterpolate, and GMSGeometryHeading) so that I can traverse a polyline. The Android equivalents work fine on Android devices, and the iOS functions listed work on an iOS simulator, but on an iOS device I get the exception,
ReferenceError: Metadata for "GoogleMaps.GMSGeometryDistance" found but symbol not available at runtime.
I've been chasing this for the better part of a day and still don't have any leads; I'd welcome any insight.

It's worth mentioning I've done the usual removal of the platforms, hooks, and node-modules folders and rebuilt, with no change in the error.
Here's the first line of code that triggers the error:

Still chasing this... I gather from this issue that I need to create a file with a list of exported symbols, and this issue kind of suggests how that could be done, but I'm not understanding how that applies to this situation.
That is, the question at hand now is how can I determine the symbols from the iOS GoogleMapsUtils static library? This is becoming more of an iOS and Xcode question that NativeScript or JavaScript.

Sigh... I did get this working using the answer I provided below, but now that same approach is no longer working. No idea why :-(

I re-reviewed the links I referenced above and included the STRIPFLAGS option and now the code works properly. I revised the answer to include this, and to edit build.xcconfig rather than the project file.
After another day's investigation I was able to get this working. Here's what it took.
Navigate to /platforms/iOS/Pods/GoogleMaps/Maps/Frameworks/GoogleMaps.framework/
Run nm --defined-only GoogleMaps | grep " T " | cut -f 3 -d' ' | egrep -v '^$|GoogleMaps'
Notice the names of the symbols. In my case each one I needed was the function name prefixed with an underscore
Create the file exportedSymbols.txt in /app/App_Resources/iOS
Add the symbols to the file. In my case the contents is:
_GMSGeometryDistance
_GMSGeometryHeading
_GMSGeometryInterpolate
Edit the file app/App_Resources/iOS/build.xcconfig and add these two lines
STRIPFLAGS=$(inherited) -s {PROJECT_DIR}/../../app/App_Resources/iOS/exportedSymbols.txt
EXPORTED_SYMBOLS_FILE = ${PROJECT_DIR}/../../app/App_Resources/iOS/exportedSymbols.txt
So far this is working in my tests on both iOS simulators and devices.

Adding native swift code to NativeScript application

I'm trying to add native swift code to my NativeScript app. According to these instructions in the documentation I can just add a swift source file to App_Resources/iOS/src/ and then use any publicly exposed classes directly in my TypeScript code.
Unfortunately this just doesn't work. I'll just get Cannot find name 'TestClass' and that's it.
Steps to reproduce:
Get a fresh NS project with ios tns create my-app-name --template tns-template-blank-ts
Update: I actually created the App with vue init nativescript-vue/vue-cli-template testapp. That seems to have caused the problems.
Add a TestClass.swift to App_Resources/iOS/src/

public class TestClass: NSObject {
#objc public func echo(param: String) -> String {
return param
}
}
Instantiate it in any TypeScript source file let instance = new TestClass()
Do tns debug ios
Compilation will fail with Cannot find name 'TestClass'
I have also tried generating TypeScript typings with TNS_TYPESCRIPT_DECLARATIONS_PATH="$(pwd)/typings" tns build ios or or just delcaring it as any with declare let KeyCommander: any; to eliminate the possibility that this is a TS related problem. The first approach doesn't generate any typings for my custom class so the TypeScript code will still not compile. The second approach let's the TS code compile but crashes on execution with JS ERROR ReferenceError: Can't find variable: TestClass.
I have also verified that the swift file is indeed getting compiled by inserting a syntax error which will crash the build process.
My NativeScript version is 6.4.0.
What am I missing?
Update: I just realized I actually created the App with vue init nativescript-vue/vue-cli-template testapp. I verified that as mentioned Tyler Blake's answer in an app created with the tns cli the described process actually works. In an app I just freshly created with vue init it doesn't, the objc!nsswiftsupport.d.ts is not being generated.
The question now is: What's causing the difference?
I followed your steps and I was able to get the typings to generate in objc!nsswiftsupport.d.ts. After you generate typings do you have that file with these contents?

This shows that NS is able to pick up the Swift code.
All you need to do now is add tns-platform-declarations then in the references.d.ts file, add a line that points to the objc!nsswiftsupport.d.ts file. Then you'll get intellisense in your TS code.
Something like this:
/// <reference path="./typings/objc!nsswiftsupport.d.ts" />

I was able to solve the problem by inspecting the differences between the templates created with tns-cli and vue init. The difference is that the vue init template ships with an outdated version of the nativescript platform. You can just simply change
"tns-ios": {
"version": "6.0.1"
}
to version 6.4.0 (which the version the tns-cli template comes with) and then the process will work as described in the documentation.

How to use HMAC in Lua - Lightroom plugin

First thing I have to mention is I'm really really new to Lua and please be patient if you think my question is too dumb
Here is my requirement
I need to use HMAC-sha256 for Lightroom plugin development as I'm using that for security.
I was trying to use this but with no luck

Now in the file I use it like this

but unfortunately this does not work and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
Can anyone advice me what I'm doing wrong here? Or is there an easier and better way of doing this with a good example.

I'm doing this to get the result. When I include that code the plugin does stops working. I cannot get the output string when I do this

I'd first make sure your code works outside of Lightroom. It seems that HMAC module you referenced has some other dependencies: it requires "glue", "bit", and "ffi" modules. Of these, bit and ffi are binary modules and I'm not sure you will be able to load them into Lightroom (unless they are already available there). In any case, you probably won't be able to make it run in LR if you don't have required modules and can't make it run without issues outside of LR.
If you just need to get SHA256 hash there is a way to do it Lightroom
I posted my question here and was able to get an answer. But there there was no reference of this on SDK documentation (Lightroom SDK)

but unfortunately there was no HMAC so I decided to use md5 with a salt because this was taking too much of my time

String encryption in RubyMotion

I'm trying to encrypt strings in RubyMotion - ideally AES but weaker/older cyphers such as Blowfish should do just fine.
So far I have failed at compiling a couple of pods: RNCrypto and CommonCrypto.
Suggestions? Anyone else tried these pods?

If you're having trouble compiling CocoaPods, make sure you run a rake clean. CocoaPods should work fine with RubyMotion as far as I know.
EDIT: Since the OP hasn't posted his solution as the answer, I'll post it here:
RNCryptor doesn't build for iOS6, and there's a pull for ARC compatibility but not yet integrated in the pod.
As for CommonCrypto, it has an example.m file showcasing its capabilities. This example.m includes a main function which clashes with the one created by RubyMotion. By deleting it, I've managed to make it compile successfully.
Here's the necessary process if you currently want to use CommonCrypto pod:
make sure to include the pod in your Rakefile or perform the equivalent Bundler ritual
don't forget to include app.frameworks << 'Security' in the Rakefile as well
then go to vendor/Pods/CommonCrypto and delete the file example.m
Congratulations, you're all set!

XlsLib integration in IOS Application

I'm trying to integrate xlslib in my app. After compiling and installing lib, I have added this in my code. Then I got the error shown below:

Can any one help to solve this issue?
Why didn't you post a bug report on the SourceForge page? In any case, the xlslib project has been updated and now offers the DHxlslibIOS library that you can incorporate as is into your project. You can download a zipped package here with the latest 2.4.0b1 source, or pull it from SVN. The framework is in the DHxls directory.
