Where does the gradle.properties file located in Grails/Gradle project?
I tried but not able to find it.
I have build the Gradle project using command line.
and what is the major purpose of that file.
There are 2 possible location for gradle.properties file:
project build dir
gradle user home
Note, gradle.properties file is not necessary located within your projects files. If it's absent, look for it in your gradle user home directory (as in users guide said: it's defined by the GRADLE_USER_HOME environment variable, which if not set defaults to USER_HOME/.gradle).
It's used to configure Java process, used to build your project.
You can read more about it in the Gradle official user guide

When doing an ant build (thought jenkins) for a test project, I get the below error. As this test project will be deployed in tomcat why does the build require a netbeans specific module
Obviously I can add the jar file to a path in jenkins and then continue the build, but want to know why it needs a netbeans specific jar?
Is it because the project setup in Netbeans is wrong?
Thanks in advance.
Tony
======Error below here =========
var/lib/jenkins/workspace/DeployTest2/nbproject/build-impl.xml:797: The libs.CopyLibs.classpath property is not set up.
This property must point to
org-netbeans-modules-java-j2seproject-copylibstask.jar file which is part
of NetBeans IDE installation and is usually located at
/java/ant/extra folder.
Either open the project in the IDE and make sure CopyLibs library
exists or setup the property manually. For example like this:
ant -Dlibs.CopyLibs.classpath=a/path/to/org-netbeans-modules-java-j2seproject-copylibstask.jar
I have a web project that Jenkins is building perfectly and pushing to Octopus Deploy.
I now have an additional folder, with subfolders, e.g. Images, which I need to include.
This is not directly part of the .net build and we used to copy it manually afterward.
Do I need a specific plugin which I can use to select the folder to include?
Which plugin?
Where in the build process does this plugin run?
The build and deploy to octopus is done in one step -
where do I fit in this additional folder to be included in the push to the octopus?
This is not directly part of the .net build and we used to copy it manually afterward.
If your Jenkins server can access that addition folder in a shared path, add a pre-build step which, as an "Executable Windows batch command" step, would copy that folder into the Jenkins workspace.
No plugin needed here.
Once that is done, you would still need to modify Octopus accordingly, to take into account that new copied folder.
See:
"How to add a folder to a nuspec file"
"How to include directories recursively in NuSpec file"
I am using gradle Java plugin. I see that gradle does not copy hidden (starting with .) files from test/resources directory to build/resources/test directory. Ant has an option to use defaultExcludes = 'no' to force copy of all files. How do I do that with gradle?
It is not an issue with every hidden resource file but only the ones present here are excluded by default.
You can do the following:
org.apache.tools.ant.DirectoryScanner.removeDefaultExclude("**/.gitignore")

Im trying to setup jenkins in my company and Ive got some problems.
Im using this commands to build the project:
SET MSBuild="C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v3.5\MSBuild.exe"
SET BUILDS=C:\Program Files (x86)\Jenkins\jobs\xxx\builds\
SET OUTPUT_PATH="%BUILDS%%BUILD_NUMBER%"
SET RSVARS="C:\Program Files (x86)\Embarcadero\RAD Studio\10.0\bin\rsvars.bat"
CALL %RSVARS%
SET PATH=%PATH%;D:\komponenty\DXE3\ADSI
%MSBuild% xxx.dproj /t:Build /p:Config=Debug;Platform=Win32;DCC_ExeOutput=%OUTPUT_PATH% /maxcpucount:4
It works fine when i type this in cmd but. I gave administrive privileges to jenkins service. When I try to build project with jenkins i receive error like this:
F1026: File not found: 'ADSI.dcu
this is a component for Delphi and i have this component on second partition. Jenkins has access for many components on this partition but not for this one.
The difference between the two will be your current directory.
Jenkins will start you off in a specific working folder for the job (possibly C:\Users\<User-ID>\.jenkins\jobs\<Job-Name>\workspace).
Add the following to your Jenkins commands to see where you're doing the build from:
echo Current Folder: %cd%
A simple "solution" would be to just add a command in Jenkins to change directory to the same folder you're in when you test from the command-line.
However, I suggest you rather do the following:
Ensure Jenkins gets the latest source from your source repository into its working folder. (There are various plugins depending on what particular tool you use.)
Ensure you cd (change directory) to the correct folder within the workspace folder.
I am trying to install prerequisties for workflow for xpages.I could not pass the below requirement. I installed ant, set the home pates, it works for a simple echo like "ant -build c:\test.xml"
Where is the setup folder to run "ant setup.activiti" command? it is not in ant"apache-ant-1.9.2" folder?
Make sure Apache Ant installed in the system, go to setup folder and run command(This
will download Activiti libraries needed in our project): ant setup.activiti
In setup there is the build.xml file ant uses. setup.activiti is a target inside that ant file. You only need to do that when you want to mess with the source build from source / contribute
