Sorry, for the confusing title. I am developing an iOS Tweak (for jailbreaks)
What I am trying to accomplish is something I haven't seen people do before but I am sure it is possible!
as an example lets say I am trying to change my username.
in app version 1.0 in the User.h there is a method called
- (void)setChangeUsername:(id)arg1;
which allows the change of usernames within the app, now on app version 1.2
the method is rendered useless / isnt there.
how could I reactivate this method so it allows the change of usernames?
would I have to edit the app binary, or import some old headers, not even sure what the first step of this process is, or if its even possible.
Sorry for the vague example but I hope it is enough information to get what I need answered!
If you would like more information I would be happy to write some more and be more detailed :)
Thank you!
You can't call or hook a function that no longer exists. If you want to change the username you will have to find an alternative method to do so.

I am using Parse in my iOS App and was wondering if it had a way for my app to get notified when a db change is made. I saw some outdated documentation that indicated there was a Parse.Cloud function but it does not seem to exist.
More recently I saw something about Parse.observeValue but cannot find any example of how to use it and I cannot seem to get it to work.
Does anyone in the Parse community know anything about this and maybe have a code snippet that shows how to perform such a function?
I have a table that keeps comments for users and I wanted to get notified when a comment is made. For example, if user 1 adds a comment on their device I was hoping that user 2 could get a notification so the the app for user 2 could reload any new comments.
Hope this makes sense... as usual any help is greatly appreciated!!
Parse provides afterSave triggers in cloud code. Those, in conjunction with push notifications would provide -- with a little latency -- a way to detect db change at the client.
If you really need this to work comprehensively and fast, I think the best alternative is google firebase.
I am aware that PayPal Here can be accessed via an iOS URL scheme similar to: "paypalhere://takePayment?arguments".
I don't know what this URL scheme is but people have already been able to do what I am trying to do, a sample can be read here: https://github.com/paypal/PayPalHere-Sample/blob/master/PPHSample/PPHSample/PPHSampleViewController.m at line 171.
I just want to open paypal here and at the very least pass the total and receive a pass/fail callback. Now if you know how to create an entire order (product name, price, quantity), that would be even better!
Please help me out! I haven't been able to figure it out from reading this ViewController and it looks like it's the only thing that hints at how to get it done. Thanks in advance!

It has 2 documents that may be of use to you.
I am trying to creating something similar to facebook timeline in facebook website. I tried searching for some examples I could not find any. Can anyone give me pointers on how to get started if I want to create one or an existing example would be great.
Thanks
Not an answer, but a pointer, If you'd thinking to make something like here, then its kind of tough and really need presence of mind to make it. First of all, source code is only avail with Mark Zuckerburg so in case you can ask him for that. If he'll deny, you should go ahead and,
Think of it, design of it, and start making it.
You need to make mocktail of UITableView's, UIImageView's, extra UILabel's and UIButton's for garnishing and test, and a well looking design that says yes its timeline.
Once you done with above, you need some test data, with a date inside it, perform descending sort with NSSortDescriptor. Update your timeline with those data you've. You've to check for the kind of data you want, or you've included. Set the layout as per the data you want to show.
and you'll say, Whoa! I've own timeline.
There's a question already related to groups, but it seems it's much more than that. Have URL schemes been completely thrown out of the new app (aside from the generic fb://), or is there a new list of supported schemes?
In particular, we can't get to a place details page. I've also tried /pages, /page, /places, /place...
Thanks,
Ivan
I'm not sure about those urls... but I just posted what I believe is a solution for facebook business pages.. it may help? Here it is below:
OK .. seriously this took me about 90 minutes of research to figure out. It works currently under facebook ios 5.0.1 for iPhone.. haven't tried it in iPad yet.
The url is fb://profile/132753734806
NOW the important part is that number. That links to one of my clients, Charles Scott. HOWEVER, that's not their FBID or Page ID.. their Page ID is 10150348920319807
so you would think it should be fb://profile/10150348920319807 but that gives me an error.
Here's how you get the correct code.. click on any of your page's photos.. here's an example for my client https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150348920319807&set=a.10150348920314807.356942.132753734806&type=1&theater
if you notice the FBID that does not work follows fbid= in that URL.. the number you WANT is just before the &type=1theater but following that last period. 132753734806 is the correct code to punch in after fb://profile/
I hope that makes some sense... I know zero about code or coding but this was bothering me so much and I knew there was a way.
Now, the two questions I would love to have answered/working.. 1. if this could work on android phones 2. create a working qr code for this url so people can scan with ios devices and have it open automatically
Good luck and I hope this helps everyone!
I tried Alessandro's way but did not succeed - the number he mentioned is new every time.
I tried fb://profile?id={pageId} and it worked in my case. {pageId} is simple page id number without any tricks. Facebook app version is 5.0.1
I searched for an answer to this, but perhaps the question is a bit too noob for this site--basically I'm a bit overwhelmed by all the different frameworks out there or even how to find what you need in a single framework. If I want to, say, find a way to fetch address book data into my app, how do I search for that? Is there some magic efficient way that everyone uses?
The xCode Organizer window has a documentation tab that you can search in. Put in a keyword and it will show you refrences, example code and what framework that class is in.
I'm not 100% sure this qualifies as an answer, but yep: Google for it. Whenever I want to learn about something new, I Google for (for example) "iOS Address Book Example". That seems to be the best way to find info on how to get into a new subject when you're not sure which framework to look in.
If you have an idea of which framework is appropriate, then the iOS documentation (both at developer.apple.com and built into xCode) is your friend.
Just found this, looks useful:

I know it's just the same info you can see elsewhere, but at first glance at least the layout makes it all seem more managable.
