When Guaranteed messages are being delivered to the client immediately after being spooled, the egress flow is in the delivered from ‘input stream’ state. If the client cannot receive the message right away, the guaranteed messages are delivered once the client is ready, thus requiring further processing. The egress flow shows either delivered from ‘RAM’ or ‘ADB or disk’ in this case.
The Status Updates field indicates whether a client is up to date with the state of the flow if the client has requested 'Active Flow Indication'. A value of "Not Requested" means that the 'Active Flow Indication' property is disabled for that particular flow. A value of "Synchronized" means that the client has the 'Active Flow Indication' property enabled and the client is up-to-date with the state of the flow.

How to set the publish DUP flag? Is the first one thousand suscriber need push once more after broker restart?
The MQTT spec provides guidance on how this should be done:
When a Server takes ownership of an incoming Application Message it MUST add it to the Session state of those clients that have matching Subscriptions. Matching rules are defined in Section 4.7.
The session state consists of:
· The existence of a Session, even if the rest of the Session state is empty.
· The Client’s subscriptions.
· QoS 1 and QoS 2 messages which have been sent to the Client, but have not been completely acknowledged.
· QoS 1 and QoS 2 messages pending transmission to the Client.
· QoS 2 messages which have been received from the Client, but have not been completely acknowledged.
· Optionally, QoS 0 messages pending transmission to the Client.
So when the server receives a message it effectively adds it to a queue held for each client with a matching subscription (the message may be sent immediately if the client is currently connected). It's important to note that while the message body sent to each client will be identical the headers may differ (different message ID, possibly different QOS etc) and the server must adhere to rules around message ordering. The server knows if the message has already been sent to the client due to the session state meaning it can add the DUP flag appropriately.
I thought it might be worth pointing out a few weaknesses in the algorithm you proposed because it helps explain why the above process is used:
Its much more efficient to send messages in parallel; receive PUB, send PUB to all subscribed clients simultaneously (subject to ordering rules).
If one client is disconnected (cleansession = 0) at the time a message comes in then the message needs to be delivered when it reconnects (your algorithm does not really support this).
If one client does not respond then delivery to other clients would be delayed.
How would the server coordinate messages arriving from multiple clients on one topic (remembering that message ordering is important).
I have been trying to work with paho mqtt client to publish and receive messages with mosquitto as the broker and works fine. My use case although involves the sender publishing a message to the broker and disconnects, at this point, the receiver whether connected or disconnected should consume this message and delete it immediately. I have played with all the properties e.g QOS, retained messages, clean sessions, etc but none is yielding the result I want. Please help.
Assuming a Publish and Subscription at QOS2 the message will only ever be delivered to the subscriber once, there is nothing to delete from anywhere.
If you are trying to ensure that the message is only ever consumed by one specific client then I think you have a misunderstanding about what MQTT is.
MQTT is a PUB/SUB protocol, and as such is designed to totally decouple the subscriber from the publisher. The publisher doesn't know how many subscribers there are, just that it has published a message to a given topic.
0 to N (where N can be any number) of clients can subscribe to the topic. Using QOS, persistent subscriptions and the clean session flag, a client can indicate to the broker that it would like to receive any messages published since was last connected, but this will not influence any other clients that may have also subscribed to that topic.
Starting at MQTT protocol v5 (most brokers and clients currently still only support v3 as of Sept 2018) includes something called Shared Subscriptions* that can be used to round-robin deliver messages on a give topic to a group of clients so only 1 of the set will receive this message, but this does not prevent clients not part of the group from also receiving the message.
The last message with the retained flag set published to a topic will be delivered to all clients at the point they subscribe to the topic. This message can be cleared by publishing a new message with a null payload and the retained flag set. A client could publish a message like this as soon as it receives the retained message but there would still be a timing window where other clients may subscribe and receive the retained message.
*some v3 brokers have implemented propriety versions of this.
I have an existing application which was running on solace jar v7.1.2 execute in pub/sub mode. Now we have upgraded to v10.1.1 and as part of implementing DR setup(Disaster Recovery), I have added one more host in the configuration with comma separated.
The application could connect to the primary host successfully, but during the switch-over, (ie from primary to DR) the application had failed to connect and i have received the below error. It connects to DR host if I restart my application.

Need help to understand if we need to have some configuration to do the reconnect to the DR host for a smooth switch over.
In Solace JMS API versions earlier than 7.1.2.226, any sessions on which the clients have published Guaranteed messages will be destroyed after a DR switch‑over. To indicate the disconnect and loss of publisher flow the JMS API will generate this exception. Upon receiving these exceptions, the client application should create a new session. After a new session is established, the client application can republish any Guaranteed messages that had been sent but not acked on the previous session, as these message might not have been persisted and replicated.
However, this behavior was improved in version 7.1.2.226 and later so that the API handles this transparently. It is no longer required to implement code to catch this exception. Can you please verify that the application is not using an API earlier 7.1.2.226? This can be done by enabling debug-level logs.
As Alexandra pointed out, when using guaranteed messaging, as of version 7.1.2 the Solace JMS API guarantees delivery even in the case of failover. It is normal to receive INFO-level log messages that say "Error Response (400) - Unknown Flow Name", this does not indicate a problem, but exceptions (with stack traces) are a problem and indicate that delivery is not guaranteed.
Background: if the connection between the client and the broker (on the Solace server) is terminated unexpectedly, the broker maintains the flow state — but only for three minutes. The state is also copied to the HA mate broker to support failover (but not to the replication mate). If the client reconnects within three minutes, it can resume where it left off. If it reconnects after three minutes, the server will respond with the following (which will be echoed to the logs):

That's okay: the client JMS library will automatically resend whatever messages are necessary, so guaranteed messaging is still guaranteed.
Also, just to confirm, the jar name indicates the version, so sol-jms-10.1.1.jar uses version 10.1.1.
I'm trying to publish 1000 messages per second using 5 processes with 200 messages each on a unique topic. And trying to listen using 5 processes each one listening on one topic on which messages are being published.
The problem is I'm unable to receive all the thousand messages and the number of messages received is not constant every time I follow this process.
As far as I understood AWS IOT should be allowing 3000 inbound messages per second.
Try to publish data at QOS-1 or QOS-2 level.
What is Quality of Service?
The Quality of Service (QoS) level is an agreement between sender and receiver of a message regarding the guarantees of delivering a message. There are 3 QoS levels in MQTT:
At most once (0)
At least once (1)
Exactly once (2).
When talking about QoS there are always two different parts of delivering a message: publishing client to broker and broker to subscribing client. We need to look at them separately since there are subtle differences. The QoS level for publishing client to broker is depending on the QoS level the client sets for the particular message. When the broker transfers a message to a subscribing client it uses the QoS of the subscription made by the client earlier. That means, QoS guarantees can get downgraded for a particular receiving client if subscribed with a lower QoS.
Why is Quality of Service important?
QoS is a major feature of MQTT, it makes communication in unreliable networks a lot easier because the protocol handles retransmission and guarantees the delivery of the message, regardless how unreliable the underlying transport is. Also it empowers a client to choose the QoS level depending on its network reliability and application logic.
I am using mqtt to implement one of the kind of email notification system. I am also planning to use it for trigger notifications inside the webapp. I am confused between whether MQTT stores data at server side itself when we throw on MQTT url with publisher id in JSON format? The reason i am asking this is because in my case, the MQTT stores only the last thrown data, if i send another one then the previous one get disappeared. I want to know is it present at MQTT side from birth(as MQ stands for Message queuing) & i haven't used or need to be implemented at server/consumer side?
There is a common error on Internet ... MQTT stands for MQ Telemetry Transport and not Message Queueing Telemetry Transport. It was created by IBM (with Eurotech) and it was part of the MQ products family in IBM.
MQTT hasn't queue. The broker receives the message on a topic and forwards it on all subscribers on that topic.
There are two main variations on this behaviour:
If the publisher send a message with the "retain" flag active, the broker store this message (only this). If a client subscribes to that topic, the broker immediately sends this last storage message. It's so called "last known message"
If the subscriber connects to the broker with "clean session" to false, the broker saves all subscriptions and all messages only if the client is offline. It's like a queue but not a very queue. With "clean session" false, if the client goes offline but some publishers send messages to topic it is subscribed, the broker store these messages. When the client returns online, it will receive all messages lost.
