We have some variable replace code that runs through the sitecore rendering pipeline. Now that we are using glass mapper, the links (Glass.Mapper.Sc.Fields.Link) are no longer going through the Sitecore.Pipelines.RenderField.AddBeforeAndAfterValues pipeline. Is there a way to force it to go through the pipeline or another pipeline I should hook? Tried IsEditable without luck. I've also tried Setting = SitecoreFieldSettings.ForceRenderField annotation on the glass interface. I'm using GlassMapper 4.05
The ForceRenderField setting is only applied to string properties, so you could map your property to a string rather than a Link and use that setting. If you want to keep your property as a Link, you would probably need to create a custom Data Mapper to run your variable replacement.

I'm using the GWT Highcharts wrapper created by moxiegroup and want to add/change functionality to my project but also slowly move away from the moxiegroup wrapper as it uses JSNI and isn't maintained anymore. I am having trouble with importing Highcharts using Jsinterop in a way where i can use the JavaScriptObject as parameters for the Highcharts function.
What i want to do is use the native Highcharts function setTitle() to change the title of my already existing Chart object created by the wrapper. Before i have fixed this by passing the object as a JavaScriptObject to JSNI like in the following example:

But when trying to do the same with Jsinterop the code wont compile because the native functions don't accept the JavaScriptObject type. I have tried casting it to the correct Js type and looking at other projects that use Jsinterop to wrap highcharts without any success.
Any help or suggestion on how to reach what i am trying to achieve without using JSNI is much appreciated. I must also add that i am very new to Js and far from a GWT guru.
Is there a way to set up bindings imperatively. An example use case:
var el2 = new MyElement();
el2.myProp = this.$.anotherElement.anotherProp
That won't setup a binding, it just assigns the value or object. I'd like to find a way to do something like:
el2.myProp.bindTo(this.$.anotherElement.anotherProp)
Possible?
Polymer 1.0 does not support this at the moment - as explained by #kevinpschaaf in Github https://github.com/Polymer/polymer/issues/1778.

No, we don't currently support this, outside of dom-bind, which is the
only template implementation that late-binds instance children. You
can document.createElement('template', 'dom-bind'), then you can
dynamically append children with binding annotations to its content,
and the bindings will only be evaluated once the dom-bind is attached
to the document. See tests here that show this usage of it:

Note that dom-bind does not currently allow binding to outer scope, so
it has limited use in custom element templates (it's main use case is
for binding between elements in the main document), and that's not
likely to change short-term.
We are achieving a lot of performance optimization by baking the
binding connections into the prototype at registration time for an
element (rather than at instance time), and we haven't built up enough
of the machinery to easily allow runtime addition/removal of bindings.
I am putting together a built-in script capability using the excellent Pascal DWScript. I have also add my own Delphi-side class definition (TDemo) to DWScript using:
dwsUnit.ExposeRTTI( TDemo.ClassInfo )
This just works and is a great way of quickly adding properties and methods.
I also wish to add an existing instance in a similar way, so I have created my instance FDemo of type TDemo and then performed:
dwsUnit.ExposeInstanceToUnit( 'Demo', 'TDemo', FDemo );
This looks a promising routine to call but I get an AV from an uninitialised unit table. I've also looked in the unit test code of the SVN source to see the use of this function but to no avail. Can anyone point me at what I should add / change?
ExposeInstanceToUnit has to be used from within the TdwsUnit table initialization, see RTTIExposeTests/ExposeInstancesAfterInitTable for some sample code. It allows directly exposing dynamic instances.
The other approach is to use the Instances collection of a TdwsUnit component, you get design-time support, and more controls over your instances and their lifetime.
Also keep in mind you have to make sure the instances you expose will properly behave even if the script misbehaves, f.i. when the user attempts to manually destroys an instance you exposed, and that instance shouldn't be destroyed. By default ExposeRTTI will map the destructors, so you may want to restrict that by specifying eoNoFreeOnCleanup.
edit: a last approach recently added is to use the TdwsRttiConnector, which basically allows exposing and connection to anything that's reachable through RTTI. That's very lightweight in terms of code to setup, but the downside is you don't get any form of compile-time checks.
I'm writing a Groovy script (as part of a Grails plugin) and I want to get a list of properties for a GrailsDomainClass that a user of my plugin might define. I can do this using domainClass.properties (where domainClass is a GrailsDomainClass).
However, suppose a user has the grails domain class:

In this case, domainClass.properties returns a list with both name and someNoneExistingProperty
I understand that this is because of Grails is generating a read-only property on-the-fly for use where someone has a getBlah() method. That's great, but in my script I want to perform some actions with the "real" properties only (or at least non read-only properties).
That is, I would like some way of distinguishing or identifying someNonExistingProperty as a read-only property, or, alternatively, as a property generated by Grails and not entered explicitly as a field in the domainClass by the user of my plugin.
I've looked at the GrailsDomainClassProperty Class and it has a range of methods providing information about the property. However, none of them appear to tell me whether a property is read-only or not, or to allow me to distinguish between a field defined in the domainClass and a field created on-the-fly by Grails as a result of a "getSomeNonExistingProperty()" method.
Am I missing something obvious here? Is there a way of getting a list of just the explicitly user-defined fields (eg name, in the above example)?
I believe transient properties are what you are trying to exclude
I've run into this problem a few times, and instead of trying to work around it I typically just end up renaming my getX() method. It's probably the easiest option.

Alternatively, I wonder if you could use reflection to see which methods are defined on the class, and while iterating over your properties see if the property has an explicit getter defined, and omit it. I'm not very familiar with reflection when it comes to Groovy and Grails, especially with the dynamic methods, but it's a possible route of investigation.

I'm using automapper to create proxies of interfaces that I'm sending to my viewmodel in Asp.net MVC. My problem is from what I can tell that MVC's default MetadataProvider find the properties and metadata by calling .GetType() on the model.
So what happens is EditorFor() and DisplayFor() templates don't generate any fields. What I need to do is find the proxy target type and then generate my templates. I know I can just parse the name and use GetType( "thename" ) but was wondering if there was an easy way.
LinFu.DynamicProxy doesn't directly expose the underlying object of a proxy. It simply redirects each method call to an IInterceptor implementation instance. In order to access the underlying object, you'll have to figure out whether or not the current interceptor instance actually has a target class instance, or not.
If you're working with AutoMapper, AFAIK, they use LinFu.DynamicObject to do a lot of the duck taping, and calling GetType() on a dynamic type generated by LinFu.DynamicObject won't even get you the actual type in your domain model--it will just get you an object that has been literally duck-taped together by LinFu itself.
get latest AutoMapper - it uses Castle Dynamic Proxy, and you already know how to get this from there :)
