Here are my problems :
Schedule local notifications between two dates every specific day of the week . example : between march 1 and march 20 every sunday
I have more than 64 local notifications to set which is the limit .
For the first problem i know there is repeatIntervals which i can set to fire notification every Sunday but how can i set them between two dates ? Do i need to calculate manually and find all the Sundays between March 1 and 20 and then set it or there is something better ?
Use the NSCalendar to get the specific dates, put in an array, and pass to the scheduleLocalNotification.

We work on a product whose software development team applies patch on every 1st Friday of the month. We have written some tests that we run on the Sunday after the patch is applied. So to automate the same on Jenkins, we would need a cron that runs on 1st Sunday after the 1st Friday of the month has passed.
Right now we just update our Jenkins each month considering dates, but can we automate this?

Naively, one would suppose that 0 3 1-7 * fri would be "3am on the Friday that falls inside the first week of each month", and then we could use the similar logic to construct 0 3 3-9 * sun, for the Sunday that follows two days after such a Friday.
Unfortunately, this does not work, because day of week and day of month are taken as a disjunction by the cron specification; which means, the above would trigger not on the Sunday following the first Friday in a month, but on every Sunday, and also every day from 3rd to 9th.
Due to this twist in cron spec, what you ask is not possible by cron alone. The easiest way to untangle this is to separate the two requirements, ask the cron to track one of them, and manually test the other: either use 0 3 3-9 * * and then manually test in your script whether the day is Sunday and exit without performing your task if it is not, or use 0 3 * * sun and manually make sure the date is between 3rd and 9th.
I want to count say how many Mondays we have from 2022-02-01 - 2022-03-01. I found smth like this:
=SUMPRODUCT(WEEKDAY(B4:C4)=2) - B4 and C4 are the dates
But it returns 0. I assume it only checks if specific date is the specific day. Any ideas how I can do this but for a date range? So how count how many Mondays there are in February

but this returns 25
You can take advantage of the NETWORKDAYS.INTL function by using the string method to make all the days as weekend except for Monday.
The String method states:
weekends can be specified using seven 0’s and 1’s, where the first number in the set represents Monday and the last number is for Sunday. A zero means that the day is a work day, a 1 means that the day is a weekend. For example, “0000011” would mean Saturday and Sunday are weekends.
In this case since you only want to know the Mondays, the string would be "0111111" and the function would look like:
=NETWORKDAYS.INTL(StartDate,EndDate,"0111111")
I think this is right. It's counting inclusively so you would get five Mondays starting on Monday 7th Feb 2022 and ended on Monday 7th March 2022 for example.
=floor((B2-(A2+7-weekday(A2,12)))/7)+1
where A2 and B2 contain the start date end end date.
Obvs nul points for me again but for the record this could be generalised if you put the day number in C2 (e.g. 1 if you want to find Sundays, 2 for Mondays):
=floor((B2-(A2+7-weekday(A2,10+C2)))/7)+1
I want to repeat notifications monthly on a specific day, but my concern is, what if the user chooses the 31? Then the Notification would only fire every 2 months and never in February?
Because the day component would not match.
Is it possible to set the day to the last day of the month, so when for example February is the next month and the user selected the 31. then it would fire on the last day of February?
I could go the non repeating way and add the notifications manually, but then i would have to face the 64 scheduled notification limit.

The Calendar module is the way to go. Handling dates manually can get very tricky.

In the example above, you can see how to advance date by a month.
If the user chooses say the 31 of a month, the calendar automatically calculates the end of the next month accurately, even if it has only 28, 29, 30 or 31 days.
One option would be to use remote notifications and handle them on a server. This would involve a bit more work and a server, but it is more flexible and allows you to change the notifications without the user needing an app update. Link to the Apple Doc for Remote Notifications.
The other option would be the use Calendar.
When you do your logic to send the notification, you can test if today is the last day of the month. If the user chooses to get the notifications on the 31st, and say today is the last day of the month and is the 30th, you can still send the notification because you know there isn't a 31st in this specific month.
How does NSMonthCalendarUnit behave exactly related to UILocalNotification repeatInterval ?
Find same day next month ?

Find the date for 30 days later ?
For example:
if i create a UILocalNotification with date:27/02/2015 and repeatInterval:NSMonthCalendarUnit when will be the next notification ? Do not mind whether February is 27 or 28. Just consider it is always 28. It is not the real question.
Will repetition be on 27/03/2015 or 29/03/2015 ?
Same question also applies for NSYearCalendarUnit. Is it just a addition of 365 days or does it mean same day, same month of next year (27/03/2016) ?

I imagine this does is based on the unit. For instance, if you create a uilocalnotification with date Feb 2, 2015 and give it an NSMonthCalendarUnit, it will call it again at every month interval for the same date.
Broken down into components Feb 2 2015 is NSDayCalendarUnit=2, NSMonthCalendarUnit=2 NSYearCalendarUnit=2015. So, the notification will be called whenever NSDayCalendarUnit=2 and NSYearCalendarUnit=2015 for any NSMonthCalendarUnit. (so if you did a leap-year date at the end of the month, like jan 30, and it was a leap year month in february, it wouldn't get called.) So, this would have the same day and year for ever NSMonthCalendarUnit. The same goes for year, except for years.
It would not make much sense for this to be an addition of days. Imagine setting the NSMonth interval for a date on the first and having it be returned on the 31st of the same month, that wouldn't be a very practical API.
I am developing a rails 3.1 app where I need to store opening hours for stores. I want to store opening time, closing time and the day of the week. My first idea is to store a day number where 1 is monday and 7 sunday but is there a better approach which is more suitable when I want to internationalize my application?
If i store the day number, how can I compare it with the day of week today to check if the store is open or not?

Sounds like you're on the right track. To figure out the current day of the week:
Date.today.wday
Although that considers Sunday 0 and Saturday 6.
A number value should be fine. Use the numbers used by the Ruby Time class to keep things simple: http://www.ruby-doc.org/core/classes/Time.html#M000369
Sunday will be 0, Monday 1, etc...
