I'm not sure whether this question is eligible to ask in this forum. I just want to know how the video streaming applications like,
Hotstar
Youtube
Spuul
and all developed a downloading manager which handle a video downloading process smoothy. How can we develop the same in my application? What are all the things i need to check for developing this? How should i develop it properly?
Any suggestions?
There now exists a Chrome extension which unites segments from m3u8 list and combines them in a video which then is saved to your computer.
Here's the link HLS Video Saver.
Your best shot is HLS. Segment your video file on server side with lets say
apple segmenter. Then create m3u8 playlist with these files. Next open the playlist file with the media player of your choice.

I want to broadcast existing videos to multiple users through wowza...
Suppose I want to broadcast any 1 uploaded video (in wowza server) to my multiple users? so how can I do that.. can wowza call any API to start streaming in other users devices? Means when I started streaming video from my application then it should start in other devices also through wowza API.
Are you talking about broadcasting (streaming) an MP4 file as a simulated Live stream (playout) or as Video On Demand (VOD)?
Obviously you cannot force devices to start playing a stream. That'd only work if you develop an App that can listen for commands and trigger playback accordingly. Wowza doesn't have such an App, nor any built-in features that can do this.
If you want devices to access a stream on-demand you can simply upload the file to Wowza's content folder. If you want to have a programmed playout, like a TV channel, then you can check out this article: https://www.wowza.com/docs/how-to-schedule-streaming-with-wowza-streaming-engine-streampublisher
(the source code of the plug-in that is used in that article is available from https://github.com/WowzaMediaSystems/wse-plugin-streampublisher)
As from your Question, You can broadcast stream successfully and you might have used Wowza Go Coder SDK for doing it.
On Broadcasting live stream, broadcasted videos stored in CONTENT directory which is inside of Stream Engine installation directory structure.
You can find all the streamed videos in it.
Now, You want to broadcast particular stored video then you can do it by loading specific URL for that video. Broadcasting for that Video is not possible but, you can play that particular video as below which will be accessible to all your application users :
In IOS, Link or URL for Videos stored in CONTENT directory is as below :
http://[Host Address]:[PORT]/vod/mp4:sample.mp4/playlist.m3u8
rtsp://[Host Address]:[PORT]/vod/sample.mp4 (In Android)
Here, sample is the name of your Stream. You have to broadcast live stream video with different stream names so that all videos are accessible.
In this way, you can play stored live stream videos.
I have a m3u file here.
When I downloaded the file and opened it in iTunes the program successfully started playing the stream audio and showed me the artist name and the song title. Moreover iTunes sends notification that track is changed and shows artist name and song title!
I wonder how iTunes guess this? The file doesn't have list of artists, it only has the link to the streaming audio. When I go this address mentioned in the file I can see a web page with some info. Does iTunes parse this pages and look for artist name? Don't think so...
Can anyone explain to me how to get song info from m3u file that contains only a link to an audio stream like iTunes does? Sample code in Obj-C or Swift of how to do this programmatically will be highly appreciated!
It comes down in the audio stream itself (using the Icecast protocol), rather than from the m3u file. You can prove this by opening the m3u file, taking the HTTP url inside, and putting it into VLC and you'll see the track data is still there.
There's a bit more info on this question: How do I extract streamed "now playing" data embedded in an Icecast audio (radio) stream on Samsung Smart-TV
There's also some obj-c specific stuff on this question: Getting SHOUTcast metadata on the Mac
And an explanation of the protocol here: http://www.smackfu.com/stuff/programming/shoutcast.html
Also if you're curious as to how I figured out the stream was an Icecast one, I opened Wireshark and filtered it by "ip.src == 79.120.77.11" and then started the stream, and in one of the first few packets there was a bit of data starting "icy-notice" and a mention of Shoutcast. A couple of packets later there's also the title of the radio station.
I have managed to read matroska container and able to extract video and audio streams from a mkv file in my metro app. Now, I don't know how to feed the streams for playing. I want to know the concept of throwing media data on display. I have another option to repack the video and audio(s) with subtitles into MP4 container which will be played by MediaElement by default but that will not look like having a matroska codec in my metro app.
So, basically my question is: How to use MediaElement or any display graph to read the video and audio pulled out from any video container.
Please guide me. Thanks.
Is there any solution of this below one?
I have the Video/audio URLs
My Requirement is:
Is it possible to get the video/audio from the server and at the same time I have to open the player to play it(Like showing the Live-video directly in browser Field).
Means
Getting streaming into a buffer in back-end and at the same time I want to show it in the player.
If above is possible
I want to save that particular video/audio streaming data in to one file.
This blackberry KB link explains about streaming video from server. It may help you.
Whenever a youtube or any other flash content is buffered on the browser, isn't it true that is downloaded to the client computer ? So my assumption is that, any completely buffered youtube file should be found on my client right ?
For example, when i view this video on youtube, i see that it is actually referring to this swf location 'http://s.ytimg.com/yt/swf/watch_as3-vfl144654.swf'. How does youtube actually buffer this video on my computer then ?
Note: My objective is NOT to download youtube videos as i know there are extensions available for it. I just want to know how it works :) .
Thank you in advance..
Your browser downloads the video. Look into the cache for suspiciously big files. These are flvs.
