I am currently working on Umbraco CMS and want to manage hierarchy like master -> home -> TestPage
but i can't find structure tab anymore, can anyone know where to find it in newer version ?
You should probably be looking in the upper right corner. :) I think what you're looking for is "Compositions" or the "Permissions" to allow certain doctypes under other doctypes.
Update:
From the comments it seems like you want to make nested content types. This is still possible in the exact way it was possible before, right-click on the document type that you want to use as a parent and choose "Create".

we are using Jenkins LTS 2.150.1, Is it possible to hide the nodes/slaves list (by default at the lower left side of the screen) from "regular" users (i.e - not admins).
Is it even possible?
Am I missing something?
I tried:
looking in the configuration of the server, couldn't find any "switch" or anything of that sort to hide it.
looking for a plugin to do that, but couldn't find anything that isn't changing the entire "look and feel" of the basic jenkins theme.
Seems to be that this feature is not added yet. See this ticket.
I have a project which is using Umbraco v7.7.9 installed with nuget.
I was wondering if it is possible to change the buttons displayed in the sidebar section when a user selects to preview a content node. Particularly I want to remove the option that allows the user to close the preview.
The reason I want to hide this option is because some of the content the backoffice users will be previewing will not actually be published yet so clicking the close preview button causes an error.
I first asked this question on the Umbraco forums but haven't received a response yet, here is the link to the question: https://our.umbraco.org/forum/extending-umbraco-and-using-the-api/90878-editing-preview-window-sidebar-options
Thank you in advance.
Currently no - it would not be possible without doing hacks in the Core that would be overwritten when you upgrade your site (unless you manually merge your changes in when updating).
If you however don't mind doing that - the file used for the preview function is /umbraco/preview/index.html. You should look for the element with an exitPreview() click handler attached to it.
In later versions (7.10+) this modification will have to be done in /umbraco/Views/Preview/Index.cshtml instead, as these static files will be changed to MVC actions.
I am trying to change the number of custom fields I can create in OrgangeHRM PIM section.
I have found a few articles on this site that say what part of the code to change but non saying where to find the file where the code is stored is in.
If anyone can help then that would be great.
I am running version 4.0 of OrangeHRM.
Thanks
orangeHRM have slots for custom field (i dont remember, but i think 10 slot in orange 4.0), you can use this for put what you need.
Out the box, you can follow guides for add more custom or pre-format fields, but not is more recomendable, this can make broken code.
meanwhile, you think work out the box, remember orangeHRM is a symfony based software, if you know how work symfony (MVC framework), work it whit OrangeHRM is more easy
good luck
Is there a way to change the help link in the toolbar dropdown in the new visual editor of MediaWiki?
I tried setting
"visualeditor-help-link":"mw:Help:VisualEditor/User guide/de"
in
"extentsions/VisualEditor/modules/ve-wmf/i18n/de.json"
as proposed here, but then my MediaWiki could not parse the JSON file. My goal is to link to the MediaWiki help page, that can be found here. The normal version:
"visualeditor-help-link":"[https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:VisualEditor/User_guide/de]"
did not work, neither did this:
"[[{{MediaWiki:visualeditor-helppagelink}}|Hilfe]]"
You should never ever change the source code of MediaWiki core or any extension. It makes an upgrade process much more hard and complicated. There are other ways to achieve a high customization of the user interface language :)
For your problem, it should be enough to create the following page in your wiki (like any other page, but you need the editinterface user right, which is assigned to sysops by default):
MediaWiki:visualeditor-help-link
Put the link you want to use into the textarea (without any wikitext, e.g. "Help:VisualEditor" (without any ")) and save the page.
After reloading the VisualEditor (maybe you need to clear your browser's cache using Ctrl + F5) the link should point to the new target you specified in the message above. If you use a message cache, it is maybe needed to rebuilt it.
I have created a dashboard for an Umbraco site and I want to link from it to various node in the tree.
From what I can tell Umbraco uses editcontent.aspx?id={thenodeid} and javascript:opencontent({nodeid}).
Whenever I try to use these they always fail.
Does anyone know how to open a display a node in the Umbraco back end?
Like Tim Saunders said you really just need to target the correct iframe. The openContent function looks like this:
function openContent(id) {
parent.right.document.location.href = 'editContent.aspx?id=' + id;
}
So you need to target the 'right' iframe.
I've tested editContent.aspx?id=1234 on my Umbraco installation and it seems to work correctly.
I'm assuming you are replacing {thenodeid} with the actual node id you want?
Umbraco uses iFrames in the backend for the content tree and the content areas etc. This means that you do not always have full access to the Javascript libraries from the frame that you are in.
Therefore you may need to either include the library in the page you are working with or try and reference the method calls by walking up the dom.
I can't find any documentation for this so it may be a case of looking at the HTML source and working out what is going on.
