InstallAnywhere provides an executable(Build.exe) which runs the installer build process from the command-line.
I was able to use this file without any problems until i tried to update the JRE
provided with the InstallAnywhere application. That's what i did:
I used Build.exe to build my installer
I noticed I had some annoying java related warnings during the process(console output)
After a little research I came across a solution that offered to update the included JRE (Ver. 1.7) in the InstallAnywhere root folder.
I replaced the JRE with a more recent version (1.8)
Since then I get the following error only when Build.exe is used. The InstallAnywhere GUI works just fine.
The error:
This is an incomplete installation of InstallAnywhere 2014 SP1 Evaluation.
Because of this error I can't use Build.exe anymore even though
I'm using a licensed version of InstallAnywhere 2014 Premier.
This error message won't go away no matter what I do, I tried to:
restore the original JRE
Reinstall InstallAnywhere
Supplying the license again (License server)
What's causing this error? How can i fix it?
InstallAnywhere saves some hidden files in the user folder.
These files are not deleted during the uninstall process.
Look for this folder:
C:\Users\[User_Name]\InstallAnywhere\165\Premier
The sub-folders \165\premier are probably different from user to user depands on the version & license.
There you can find the folder preferences, make a copy of this folder & delete it. After this you can launch InstallAnywhere & enter your license information again.

I have been working with TEdgeBrowser/WebView2 and an installed version of the Edge Beta/Canary browser version as the "runtime" which seems to work fine. However for production rollout we would greatly prefer to ship the fixed version of the runtime from within our application directory.
I have been attempting to use the following:
MyEdgeBrowser.BrowserExecutableFolder := ExtractFileDir(Application.ExeName) + '\WebView2Runtime';
Within the above referenced path I have the msedgewebview2.exe with the full installation of the fixed version runtime and all supporting files & folders. This is the file that I downloaded and extracted:
Microsoft.WebView2.FixedVersionRuntime.98.0.1108.62.x86.cab
Here's an image of what it looks like when extracted:
I have attempted to place the WebView2Loader.dll in my app directory, in the WebView2Runtime folder, and even in the WebView2Runtime\win-x86\native folder, always as a subfolder of my application directory.
I've tried the 11/20/2021 version of WebView2Loader.dll that Embarcadero distributes with the GetIt package manager, as well as the latest and greatest versions distributed by Microsoft via the NuGet package manager.
The CreateWebView call always fails.
Has anyone successfully got the fixed version runtime to work with Delphi & the WebView2Loader.dll? Are there version specific issues? What folder structure is required?
Thanks.
UPDATE: One crappy workaround that I found was to install a dev or canary version of Edge, then copy all of the files from the "C:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft\Edge Beta" folder into my app folder, uninstall Edge Beta/Canary, then point the BrowserExecutableFolder to the "Edge Beta\Application<version #>" folder. This is the first time I've seen a "fixed version runtime" function without an Edge or Canary install.
I had started the project in 64-bit mode but for internal reasons had to switch to 32-bit mode. Unfortunately I had not switched back to the 32-bit version of WebView2Loader.dll, but was using the 32-bit version of the runtime.
Once I switched to the 32-bit version of WebView2Loader.dll the TEdgeBrowser was able to work with just the fixed version runtime, no further installation required.
I don't know why I am getting this error. how can i solve this ?
(Visual studio 2019 was already installed but I never had access to the others)
Sometimes it happens... Moreover, it may not be possible to reinstall the module, since it is already marked as installed. In this case, you can do the following:
Find the folder where Unity is installed. For example: C:\Program Files\UnityEditor\2021.2.13f1
Open the modules.json file
Find the object with the parameter "name":"iOS Build Support" and in this object change the parameter "selected":true to "selected":false
Restart Unity Hub and try to reinstall iOS Build Support module
Also make sure you have enough disk space to install the components
I have a fresh win 10 installation with Delphi XE2.
I tried to install CnPack but there was no chance (It says couldn't find wizard):
Also registry is OK and the file is in there and the permissions are OK.
Its version is CnWizards_1.1.3.896 which is currently the latest version.
I have tried older versions as well but there was no chance.
Any idea ?
I had the same problem and I got it to resolve to do this.
I downloaded the Source file and the Installer file.
I used this version 1.1.3.896.
First I open the source in Delphi and Compile, Build and Install the following components.
CnPack_DXE2.dpk. (Compile and Build)
CnWizards_DXE2.dpr (Compile and Build)
dclCnPack_DXE2.dpk (Compile, Build and Install)
Execute the Installer file.
Now, this is the secret for me.
Replaced the files (CnWizards_DXE2.dll).
In the Third Step, it creates CnWizards_DXE2.dll (CnWizards\bin). Copy this file and paste in the local installation ([program files\CnPack\CnWizards]).
I created the mini tutorial in Portuguese for this situation, if necessary I can send it for you.
Sorry, my English is not good.
Bye for now
Hi all I am getting this error message on a clean install of the latest version of umbraco
Can anyone advise on why this may be occuring or what needs setting up differently
I would check file system permissions first (if this is your dev environment then I would give the 'Everyone' account full control) to the folder your website project is in.
Also if you installed via Nuget, did you build the solution?
Those are 2 common reasons for errors on install, if no joy then report back.
I installed both the Delphi 2009 trial and actual release via the web installer when I received them and experienced the same errors when installing both.
Both times it appears that the core web installer failed when it went to spawn the additional install packages for boost, documentation and dbtools. (It brought up a findfile dialog asking for a setup.msi that didn't exist on my machine). When cancelling out of this, the installer reported a fatal error.
The uninstaller did not appear in my program list, and would did not launch from the installation folder.
Future attempts to bring up the installer had it in a state where it thought Delphi 2009 was already installed and it wouldn't correct or repair or uninstall it.
Step 1
Clean out the registry of all things Delphi 2009.
You're looking for HKLM\Software\Codegear\BDS\6.0 and everything under it. Purge the HKCU equivalent while you're at it.
Search under HKEY.CLASSES.ROOT for anything that contains "CodeGear\RAD Studio\6.0" - assuming you installed into the default folder. Purge all those items from the CLSID level.
Step 2
Clean up Windows Installer using the Microsoft Windows Installer Cleanup utility.
Step 3
I suggest a reboot at this stage.
Step 4
Try to install again.
Good Luck!
The problems seem to originate with the web installer not having all the files needed.
Download the 2009 ISO: http://cc.codegear.com/item/26049
Mounted it using this free tool from Microsoft: http://download.microsoft.com/download/7/b/6/7b6abd84-7841-4978-96f5-bd58df02efa2/winxpvirtualcdcontrolpanel_21.exe (You can burn it to a DVD too)
Then reran the installer. At this point, both the repair and uninstall worked.
