Foursquare category names localization broken - localization

There's a problem with translation of category names into local languages:
https://developer.foursquare.com/docs/explore#req=venues/categories%3Flocale%3Dru
Most of categories are now in English despite sending locale, though it used to work fine a week ago. Foursquare developers, please take a look!

It looks like it was a bug. Localization of categories is working fine now!

How to test that hreflang setup works correctly in different countries?

So after much effort and pain (I'm an iOS developer, not a web developer), I have my website (https://359north.com) set up to support 16 different languages/countries (thanks https://ahrefs.com - I get 100% on their site audit). Set up like https://359north.com/it/ etc. for the various country/language combinations.
I'd like to make sure this setup actually works.
It seemed reasonable to test in the iOS Simulator by setting the region and language to Italia and Italiano. Using Safari, some sites like google.com and Mozilla.org show up correctly in Italian, while others like ibm.com and Microsoft.com do not.
When the phone is set to Italian, 359north.com displays in English, not Italian, and when I search for it in Google (359north) it comes back with a link to the US English site (the main site).
Am I doing something wrong here? The website is on Github Pages at https://github.com/359north/359north.github.io

having trouble with yahoo weather feeds

I am having problems using regional weather rss feeds that i have been using for many years, and am not much of a programmer, so i do not understand what i could do to get my feeds up and running again... Could someone please help me?
here is one of the weather feeds that worked for me until 2 days ago:
http://weather.yahooapis.com/forecastrss?w=3563&u=c
is there something i can add to it to make it work again?
Thanks for any hints
Unfortunately i had the same problem.
It seems that yahoo changed the URL to
http://xml.weather.yahoo.com/forecastrss?w=”+postal+”&u=c
instead of http://weather.yahooapis.com/forecastrss?w=3563&u=c

Is it possible to handle support for multiple variations of the same language with BlackBerry API 7.x?

I'm working with BlackBerry API 7.1 on Eclipse and I want to know if it's possible to add localization for variations of the same language.
I'm working on an app that needs to be localized for 10 countries that speak Spanish, but every country uses different manners of speech.
The problem I'm seeing is that BlackBerry API 7.x's Locale class only has constants for Spain Spanish and Mexican Spanish. Does that mean localization for Spanish speaking countries such as Panama, Argentina, Colombia, etc. get a default localization as if it were Spain Spanish?
Also for this case where multiple variations of the same languages must be dealt with, how should I name the files? I tried adding locale_es-AR.rrc but the - is not admissible on Resource files names, but I don't know if locale_es_AR.rrc is the correct format.
I want to know before adding ten Resource files for these countries that may or may not be usable.
Is it possible what I'm looking for?
What you are trying is correct. Have a look at Localizing Your Files
This file must have the same name as the resource header file,
followed by an underscore (_) and the language code, and then,
optionally, by a single underscore (_) and a country code (for
example, AppName_en_GB.rrc).

Quickly browse localized app store descriptions in other languages and/or countries?

As I am writing and translating localized app store descriptions for my app, I thought it would be handy to read other same-category apps' localized descriptions. However this has become more complicated than I had hoped (e.g., don't really want to change my Mac's language setting on top of my iTunes store country preference). Plus I have had limited success doing this on with OS X and iOS.
Can someone suggest a quick and easy way to look at app store descriptions in another language? I am sure I am missing something obvious here, for example currently I am poking around App Annie to see if it has archived localized descriptions.
Yes, there is a solution. You can use the urls that Apple provides and read the app description from there:
Head over to http://linkmaker.itunes.apple.com/ and you will see that there you can select a country.
For example, searching for "Twitter" in iOS apps and US you get (after removing the trailing url garbage):
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/twitter/id333903271?mt=8
Now just change the country code. E.g., German and Italian:
https://itunes.apple.com/de/app/twitter/id333903271?mt=8
https://itunes.apple.com/it/app/twitter/id333903271?mt=8
The best way is to modify URL and view it in browser.
If you open an app using URL:
itunes.apple.com/app/APP_NAME/ID
(for example: https://itunes.apple.com/app/zuko-monsters/id545619234?mt=8)
you can just add country code after first part:
itunes.apple.com/de/app/APP_NAME/ID
itunes.apple.com/us/app/APP_NAME/ID
(for example: https://itunes.apple.com/de/app/zuko-monsters/id545619234?mt=8)

URL Schemes and Facebook App 5.0

There's a question already related to groups, but it seems it's much more than that. Have URL schemes been completely thrown out of the new app (aside from the generic fb://), or is there a new list of supported schemes?
In particular, we can't get to a place details page. I've also tried /pages, /page, /places, /place...
Thanks,
Ivan
I'm not sure about those urls... but I just posted what I believe is a solution for facebook business pages.. it may help? Here it is below:
OK .. seriously this took me about 90 minutes of research to figure out. It works currently under facebook ios 5.0.1 for iPhone.. haven't tried it in iPad yet.
The url is fb://profile/132753734806
NOW the important part is that number. That links to one of my clients, Charles Scott. HOWEVER, that's not their FBID or Page ID.. their Page ID is 10150348920319807
so you would think it should be fb://profile/10150348920319807 but that gives me an error.
Here's how you get the correct code.. click on any of your page's photos.. here's an example for my client https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150348920319807&set=a.10150348920314807.356942.132753734806&type=1&theater
if you notice the FBID that does not work follows fbid= in that URL.. the number you WANT is just before the &type=1theater but following that last period. 132753734806 is the correct code to punch in after fb://profile/
I hope that makes some sense... I know zero about code or coding but this was bothering me so much and I knew there was a way.
Now, the two questions I would love to have answered/working.. 1. if this could work on android phones 2. create a working qr code for this url so people can scan with ios devices and have it open automatically
Good luck and I hope this helps everyone!
I tried Alessandro's way but did not succeed - the number he mentioned is new every time.
I tried fb://profile?id={pageId} and it worked in my case. {pageId} is simple page id number without any tricks. Facebook app version is 5.0.1
