Changing Tab Item dynamically in UITabBar - ios

Is there a way to change the content in UITabBar item dynamically, as it is illustrated in the image. Idea is to indicate the user there are new content he/she hasn't seen.

You can set a numbered badge using UITabBarItem.badgeValue, but its look won't be configurable.

UITabBar first item title overlapping

I'm using tabbar with four tabs with title. I'm setting different color for selected and unselected tabs. But only for the first tab, the selected and unselected colors & title are getting overlapped. Whenever I'm selecting first tab, title is getting added again and again. I have attached screenshot as well.
In storyboard
Anyhelp could be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
You problem is most likely from the color you use for unselectedItemTintColor, which you have set to have transparency. This color should probably be solid. Try changing it to a solid version of what you want to see, like #EB989E.
Also be aware that you are setting an internal property, and as such it may change or disappear in a future release of iOS.

Is there are way to dynamically hide a setting in kivy?

I have a Kivy app that uses a slightly modified Settings as a data record editor.
I want to hide or show an item after the setting panel has been created (depending on user interaction with some other setting item).
Is there a simple way of dynamically hiding a setting item, so that it doesn't take up any space?
I can set the opacity to 0 and disabled to True and the items disappears, but still takes space.
Setting the size to (0,0) (to hide) and resetting it to the original value (to show it) corrupts the view.
What is the correct way of doing this?
Removing the SettingItem seems complicated, because the items to hide a somewhere in the middle of the items.

Adding Image And title both to UIsegmentControl IOS

Is there a way so that you can set both image and title of UISegmentControl simultaneously, so that image appear next to the title , just like image appear next to title in UIButton.
I am trying but if I set image of Selected segment of UISegmentControl then title disappears and if I set title of Selected segment of UISegmentControl then Image disappears, I want to set both at a time.
The official documentation for -setImage:forSegmentAtIndex: says
A segment can only have an image or a title; it can’t have both. There is no default image.
So, no, there is no way to do what you want using the image and title properties.
However, there are a few options to accomplish the objective in different ways.
if you are going to use the same image for each segment, you could use the appearance methods to set the background and then use the method -setContentOffset:forSegmentAtIndex: to move the title to the side of the background image.
you could create an image that had both the icon and the text in it. This is less than ideal as a change to the text requires exporting of the entire asset again. But is an option.
the least ideal would be to fake a segmented control using buttons that you write the code for to handle state changes. There may even be some open source options that do just that, so feel free to search for them.

In Xcode Interface Builder - why are the options in the Editor--->Arrange menu (containing Send to Front, Send to Back) often disabled?

What I'm trying to do is simple: bring a label in front of an image within a subview.
But all of the options for arranging are disabled/un-selectable when my label is selected. I find this happens often.
What could be the reason that I'm almost never allowed to change the z-axis of my objects in the Arrange menu? Is it a better practice to avoid this feature and set the order of views programmatically?
It can depend on how you have selected the label (similar to how the label can only be moved with the keyboard when selected in some ways).
A simple alternative is to look at the list of view in the pane on the left and to drag the views up and down to change the order.
It happens sometimes. In that situation, click the view or image you want to send back then you will see little square box at the edges of image from which you can re size your image, Just click on it once and then go to Editor > Arrange > Choose option according your need.

Does this UIBarButton exists by default in iOS? How is it called

I think I've seen this kind of button before, and now I need one.
A button like the one below who's label can be changed to whatever number I need (from 2 to 10 for example).
I have a feeling that this exists by default in iOS SDK but I can't seem to find it.
Does it exist by default or do I have to create it myself?
Thanks!
Its easy to replicate. Add a new RoundRectButton in interface builder, then in the attributes inspector change the type to Custom. Set the BackgroundImage to an image similar to above, and then set the Title to the number. By default the title will centered in the button, but you can use the Inset options in the attributes inspector and nudge the title in and down using the Top and Left inset attributes.
No, it's not a default item as far as I know. You can see all the default items in the Apple Human Interface Guidelines (see "System-Provided Buttons and Icons").
