Latex table rotate is not working - latex

I am trying to rotate table but I could not do that. See my code below, I tried with rotate, sidewaystable and landscape. Nothing is working for me. Either it gives me error or work like the image. I want to show the table in a single page and rotated. Please help me to make it work.

You have to move the \caption statement out of the rotate environment. Now, the table is rotated, but it overlaps with the non-rotated caption. To fix, this use the sideways environment (not sidewaystable!) instead of rotate, because sideways calculates a new "bounding box" for the rotated text.

Latex - Nomenclature for a thesis when you have multiple chapters

I am writing my PhD thesis, and I have multiple chapters where I compile a list of tables, figures and references. However, I struggle to put my "List of Symbols", as I need to call them from multiple chapters. Their order is not very important at the moment, so a general list should be fine (i.e. I don't need to group symbols chapter by chapter).
When I use the following commands in one of the chapters (for example), nothing happens.

Latex IEEE template: Use single column table in multicolumn latex content [closed]

I am trying to use this IEEE template to write a report. I don't see any package named \usepackage{multicol} which is used for multi-column. So I can not change it from two column to single column. Problem is, I have a big table which need whole page without two column. That is, my table should be in single column with whole page. You can see the example image. Sorry for bad image. Also, I have to use this template to write my report. Please let me know how can insert the table in single column.
I added this code for table just to test but it show in the one of the column. But as I wrote already, I need to show it like the image below.

The answer to this question is (almost) included in the IEEE template you posted: With \begin{figure*} ... \end{figure*}, you can create a double column figure. Similarly, you can create a double column table using \begin{table*} ... \end{table*} instead of the normal table floating environment:

C Source Code in Latex document

Can anyone recommend me a good template to include C source code with line numbering
in Latex? For example, taking the classical Hello world program, I would like to make it look as follows:

Typicall, I always used the verbatim environment, but I am wondering if there is a better and nicer way to do that.

As others have said, the listings package will probably do what you want using something like the following:

A more powerful alternative would be to use the minted package, although this will do much more than what you're currently asking, as it uses/requires pygments to be installed on your system so that it can fully tokenize the code you give it.
You might want to have a look at the listings package. It is very flexible and easy to use.
Take a look at Code listings in LaTeX. You'll find a couple of alternatives there. Some options are:

Use lgrind package for latex. It converts your code into a .tex file

lyx problem: ps, pdf "Authors not shown"

I'm trying to write a paper based on VLDB .cls and .tex files, it can be reached from here.It uses ACM SIG Proceedings Style.After fixing many errors, now i don't get any errors, However when i save my file as pdf or ps,i can not see the author names.
The title and abstract are shown just not the code between these is not shown.
i'm using lyx on Ubuntu.

also when i checked the title i see that:
Error in latexParagraphs: You should not mix title layouts with normal ones.
however i see my the document as dvi,ps or pdf
i'm not sure what causes the problem?

WHILE converting from .lyx to pdf or dvi i still don't see the authors however, by using shell commands everthing is fine.

The vldb.cls class from the link you mention does not define a command called \sharedaffiliation. Commenting out that code allows the file to compile and also see the author names:

The address is ugly this way, though. It is up to the journal to define how to display author addresses with a single affiliation. Unfortunately, the sample file does not do this. In that situation I would contact the editor and ask.

LaTeX source code listing like in professional books

How should a latex source code listing look like to produce an output like in known books, for example one for the Spring Framework? I've tried with the latex listings package but wasn't able to produce something that looked as nice as the one below. So I'm primarely interested in the formatting instructions to produce something like the sample below (from Manning's sample chapter for Spring in Action):

It seems to me that what you really want, is to customize the look of the captions. This is most easily done using the caption package. For instructions how to use this package, see the manual (PDF). You would probably need to create your own custom caption format, as described in chapter 4 in the manual.

And please, whatever you do, configure the listings package to use fixed-width font (as in your example; you'll find the option in the documentation). Default setting uses proportional font typeset on a grid, which is, IMHO, incredibly ugly and unreadable, as can be seen from the other answers with pictures. I am personally very irritated when I must read some code typeset in a proportional font.
Try setting fixed-width font with this:

I wonder why nobody mentioned the Minted package. It has far better syntax highlighting than the LaTeX listing package. It uses Pygments.
