I just updated my Xcode to Version 7.0 (7A220) and out of the blue I got this message when I connect my iPhone to xCODE to test an application :
iPhone from nuñito (unavailable)
and everything is fine from iTunes !
I've tried all these solutions !
Ineligible Devices section appeared in Xcode 6.x.x
iOS version in my phone running -> iOS 9.1
iOS version in my app's deployment target –> 9.0
Update to Xcode 7.1 to use iOS 9.1, this should resolve this issue.
If I'm not mistaken, Xcode 7.0 doesn't support iOS 9.1, so device is "unavailable".

I have the Xcode Version 6.0.1 (6A317) on Mac OS X 10.9.5 with all iOS 8 simulators. I have also downloaded the iOS 7.1 simulators.
I am developing an app for iOS 8 and iOS 7.
The problem I encounter is that Xcode 6 doesn't show the iOS 7.1 simulators in the devices menu. At some point it did show them but on my newly created Xcode 6 project it does not.
I was looking at some stackoverflow solutions.I have addded the iOS 7.1 simulators Window - Devices - SIMULATORS. They are also checked with "Show in the Run Destionations Menu",however they are not shown.
I found a workaround by setting the Project and Target Deployment Target to 7.1. However, this is a stupid solution since for every test I need to manually switch them forth and back 7.1-8.0
This is my first ipad app and it worked perfectly under Xcode 5.1.1. iOS 7 and iOS 8 (CREATED UNDER Xcode 5.1.1.). Now I have created a project in Xcode 6.0.1. and the project doesn't have the simulators showing correctly and 95% of the app doesn't work.
I am new to iOS development but I suppose that this is a bug, but I am unsure. Please help.
The deployment target is the minimum OS version you intend to support.
As you stated, you need to set the deployment target to 7.1 in order to see the 7.1 simulators. If your deployment target is 8.0, the 7.1 simulators will not be available in the run destinations menu. This is the correct behavior because you can't run on iOS 7.1 if your deployment target is 8.0.
I already had deployment target 7.0 and simulator still wasn't available for 7.1.
I fixed the issue though by going into Xcode preferences, selected Downloads and re-downled the missing 7.1 simulators under 'Components'. Although I previously had 7.1 simulator, the Xcode 6 upgrade had seemed to remove them.
The iOS 9 (my device iOS) update is not supported by Xcode 6.4 for testing purposes. Is there a way to connect my device to Xcode for testing?
It is showing me these messages:
iPhone may be running a version of iOS that is not supported by this version of Xcode.
Xcode 6.4 doesn't contain iOS 9 SDK, that's why it isn't working. You need to update your Xcode to 7.0 (available on the AppStore)
Xcode 6.4 doesn't support iOS 9, If you want to debug your device then you have to update Xcode. And if you just want to check app in device then create a diawi link and install in phone(which is tedious process).
I am making a Spritekit Swift game in xCode 6.1. We are using iPad device iOS 8.3 to test the game. Right now apple release iOS 8.4 so i upgrade my device 8.3 to 8.4 iOS.
After that when i connect my device to mac and try to select the device to text purpose. It show the Device Ineligible in XCode 6.1.
What is the solution of this problem. May i use my iPad device (iOS 8.4) to test the game?
For running apps on iOS 8.4. You need XCode 6.4. So you have to upgrade your XCode 6.1.
OR
You can download XCode 6.4 from apple developer site here
If device is showing Ineligible, then try to select it from Menubar option as follows:
Product->Destination->select your device.
I hope it will help you.
Because the current Xcode version does not support iOS 8.4.
All you have to do is, open you App Store, in the Updates tab, upgrade the Xcode.
App Store -> Updates -> update Xcode
It's easy.
update your Xcode to support iOS 8.4
When you are connecting your device with ios version 8.3 and you have x-code 6.1 it means that it is SDK version is 8.1 and that's why it will show you the device ineligible.
So that solving this error you need to upgrade your SDK version to the same device ios version.
if device version is ios 8.3 then SDK version also needs 8.3 . xcode 6.3 will give you SDK version 8.3. Hope it will help you.
After install Xcode 6.4. Firstly i run my project on Xcode 6.4. I got a lots of error. Then close Xcode 6.4 and start Xcode 6.1 and clean the project. After clean i successfully run my app by Xcode 6.1 on my iPad device (iOS 8.4). Thanks for all the suggestions.
I just upgraded my iPhone5s to iOS 8.1 from 8.0.2 and now XCode says it is an ineligible device and I can't debug on it. Any ideas?
You will need to install Xcode 6.1. Once you do, connect your iOS 8.1 device so the symbols can be processed. Once this is done you will be able to use the iOS 8.1 device with Xcode 6.1, 6.0, or earlier versions.
In my Project, I have a deployment target of iOS 6. I want to test my app in the iOS 6.1 Simulator, but Xcode 6.1 does not support iOS Simulators older than iOS 7.0, so I have downloaded and installed Xcode 5.1.1. When I build the app in Xcode 5.1.1, it gives me this error:
target specifies product type 'com.apple.product-type.app-extension', but there's no such product type for the 'iphonesimulator' platform
How can I fix the problem and run the app in the iOS 6 Simulator?
App Extensions require iOS 8.0 and later. If you want to test your project in iOS 6.1 with Xcode 5.1, you should just remove the App Extension target from your project when testing in Xcode 5.1 as it's not applicable to the old OS version.
It's actually possible to copy the simulator folder from an older version of Xcode into your new version, or at least it was in previous builds of Xcode. I found a description of how to do this here on SO and did it with Xcode 5 and a previous SDK. It should work with Xcode 6.1.
I don't have ready access to the info any more I'm afraid.
I suggest searching for "install iOS 6 simulator in Xcode".
Edit: According to Jeremy, Apple changed the format of the simulator in Xcode 6, so this won't work between Xcode 4/5 and Xcode 6.
