How would I go implementing a stacked card-based view? - ios

Would anyone mind pointing me in the right direction of making a card view just like the one in the image shown below? I've been scouring the internet for over an hour trying to find a tutorial (in Swift) and all I could find was making the illusion of separated cards like this and this.
Any help or input would be greatly appreciated!

It wouldn't be that hard to do this yourself with custom code.
You could also use either a UICollectionView. Getting the look you want with a collection view is doable but would require some customization.
Yet another option is a third party framework like iCarousel (by Nick Lockwoods) iCarousel is very flexible and powerful, and comes with tutorials demonstrating a number of different options.

Which Controls do I have to choose in iOS development

an iOS app page, which descirbes some item's detail
This is kind of what I want to make
This is exact what I want
Actually I am not an iOS developer.
But a member of our team lacks of knowledge of consisting of iOS app Page(Scene)
I think he usually use table view all the time. which I guess he can't handle very well.
He always struggle about height of UITableView in dynamic pages.
As you see in the picture, page has two views, which I don't know how to call it.
If round button on the right side of a woman is pressed those two views switches.
I guess it's kind of "TAB".
Is it normal that using UITableView in this kind of page. or Which is best practise?
Thanks in advance and sorry for my english.
The first image can be made using a UITableView or UICollectionView(UITableView will do the job with lesser hassle). For second image, you'd wanna use a segmented control.
The third can be built using UICollectionView, however, there are plenty of third party libraries out there on github for the same and you might wanna check them out.
Last but not the least, have some faith in your developer. He seems to be a newbie if he's facing troubles with tableviews but believe me, we've all been there some day.Encourage him to ask questions on various communities. If he's curious enough, he'll be just fine after a while.

iOS customise user interface

Hi all I would like to make a horizontal scroll bar like below in iOS APP.
I read through lots of iOS programming book, none of them teaches me how to do custom UI. Can someone tell me, what knowledge I should learn in order to make this?
Thank you.
You should be using UICollectionView to make your life easier. There are many tutorials on that in which you probably just want to lay out your cells in one row and many columns to achieve the horizontal scrolling effect. Otherwise you may want to employ external libraries like this if you prefer a plug and play solution.

Is it possible to use Monotouch.Dialog to create a custom list like this?

I just discovered Xamarin Studio and Monotouch.Dialog, and I've been doing a lot of research on custom table cells. So far I've been pretty successful experimenting with some of the features, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to create something like this:
All of the samples I have seen still look like a standard iOS table view, with maybe a few colors changed here and there. My goal is to create truly customized cells, with customized spacing and what not. I'm not sure if this is even possible, so I figured I would ask you guys.
Thanks in advance.
Yes, you can create an OwnerDrawnElement. There's an explanation of this in the Owner-Drawn Element section of this doc:
http://docs.xamarin.com/guides/ios/user_interface/monotouch.dialog
There's also a sample here:

Photo Gallery like table iOS

I am in the process of designing an application that will look like the image below. I am wondering if there is anything out there that will help me create this style of a table. I have seen three20 and other sources. I already figured out how to load images from the website I need, using JSON, now I need to put it into that view style. . It looks like it may be a basic gallery layout, but I am not sure where the best place to start may be.

EDIT: Thanks guys, this ended up being quite helpful as well: http://www.scott-sherwood.com/ios-6-uicollectionviewcontroller/
Try to check UICollectionView https://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#documentation/WindowsViews/Conceptual/CollectionViewPGforIOS/Introduction/Introduction.html
Have a look at UICollectionView. It's perfect for that sort of thing.
Ask again with specific questions if you have them.
The new UICollectionView framework is made for things like this, and it's really easy to use. The only downside to using a collection view is that it's only available on iOS 6+, so if you want backwards compatibility, you might want to look into third-party open source frameworks.
Here's a great tutorial on UICollectionViews to help you get started.

How can I get a slot machine effect in the IOS SDK with text?

I need to create a list of words then have the words cycle through in a slot machine effect when swiped from top to bottom.
the only issues I'm having problems figuring out is the scrolling text part. UIPICKERVIEW doesn't cycle around (plus I need to only show one option at a time). I've hunted for examples and/or tutorials regarding this but haven't found anything that points me in the right direct.
Anyone know of a tutorial or have suggestions where I can get started or further my research? thanks.
You could use iCarousel for this:
https://github.com/nicklockwood/iCarousel
Run the Basic iOS Demo and select the Cylinder carousel type in vertical orientation with wrap on. If that looks like what you want, the documentation will explain how you can set it up in your project.
