How to create 1200x900 iPad App Preview? - ios

How can I record app preview for iPads? It should have 1200x900 resolution, but there is not such simulator in Xcode?
What do you think to record one for iPhone and then resize it to 1200x900? Unfortunately iMovie does not support resizing video.

You can use Quicktime, a native app for MacOS, it will save your screen in a High Resolution, then you can use any App of Video Editing like iMovie (Final-Cut, Adobe Premiere, After Effect) to redesign your Preview!
In iMovie, Make sure you have the latest Version and Do: File --> New App Preview

App Preview Resolution(1200x1600) For iPad Pro

I am trying to make an App Preview for iPad Pro.
I recorded the video using QuickTime Player as recommended by the documentation. The resulting .mov file is 1920x1080.
I import into an App Preview iMovie project and then share as an App Preview. The resolution it wants to export as is 1920x1080 with no options to change it.
How do I get iMovie to export in the desired resolution(1600x1200)?

iPhoneX AppStore Video Preview

If you don't have an iPhoneX device and would like to add video to your appstore video preview, how can one do so? You can use quickTime player to capture video directly from your device and use iMovie to export it in Appstore Preview. but you would need an iPhoneX for iPhoneX appstore previews.
Thanks any help would be appreciated.

Can't use Xcode Simulator for Itunes Connect Screenshots

I am making an app that uses the phone's camera to identify objects and then translate them into Spanish. I'm trying to setup the app store page and Itunes Connect says I need 5.5-inch screenshots for the page, but I don't have an iPhone plus and I can't take screenshots using the Xcode Simulator because the simulated phone doesn't have a camera, so my app's screen is blank. What can I do?
Best way to run app on highest resolution iPhone simulator. And later export those images using 5.5 inch width and height. Hope it helps.
You can do using any simple tool like preview on mac os
Also you can upload simple splash screen with correct resolution and update in future with correct images when you get the device

Need app preview video for all devices

To create an app preview video, it is easiest if the developer records the screen of all type of devices, when using the app.
What if I have only one type of device, an iPhone 5? If I create app preview video and upload only for the iPhone 5, what will happen when someone with some other device, like iPhone 6, tries to see my app?
Will he able to see as replacement video, the video for iPhone 5, or no video will be in App Store to see because video is strictly device-specific?
Sorry for the very very very late reply.
The reason you have to upload different screenshots for different devices is so the user gets the most optimized screenshots. If you only have one device, try to record the simulator at 100% scale on each device so you can get the app preview on every device.

iOS AppStore App Preview and iMovie

Just trying to create an app preview for the iOS AppStore and failing miserably. Managed to capture the video and Spielberg would be impressed with my edit (in iMovie) - but then iTunes Connect requires the iPad (landscape) preview video to be 1200x900 - which is not supported by iMovie. Anyone know how this should be done?
Thanks
Do you still have iMovie 9 on your Mac? Even if you update, it still lives on your system and typing "imovie 9" in Spotlight should bring it up. For iPad previews iMovie 9 is a lot better since you can make 4:3 videos and then export them in 1200x900.
To export in iMovie 9, use the option to "Export from Quicktime" which opens a prompt that gives you much more control over the export. 1200x900 isn't a selectable option from any drop down, but this export from quicktime option lets you input whatever custom resolution you want. As long as the source files are 1200x900 or higher there should be no quality degradation.
If you don't have iMovie 9 as an option then you'll have to use Final Cut or some other program.
As of September 2014, Apple has updated iMovie so that if you select "New App Preview" and put Quicktime recorded footage from an iPad, it will be 900 x 1200 or 1200 x 900.
iMovie doesn't support custom canvas sizes - so you need to use Final Cut Pro (there's a 30 day trial) or something like Camtasia.
