I've been messing around with Spring Boot and was pointed at Swagger as a way of documenting my Rest Api.
I managed to get it working except I can't figure out how to customise the index.html file. Whenever I go to http://localhost:8080/index.html it loads the default pet store search bar one and not the one I customised.
I've gone through a tonne of pages online and tried a hundred things but nothing has worked.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
In my swagger index.html code I have something that looks like this:
$(function () {
var url = window.location.search.match(/url=([^&]+)/);
var pathArray = location.href.split( '/' );
var protocol = pathArray[0];
var host = pathArray[2];
var base = protocol + '//' + host;
if (url && url.length > 1) {
url = url[1];
} else {
url = base + "/api-docs";
}
window.swaggerUi = new SwaggerUi({
url: url,
...
This loads the base, my json code for my swagger api is at /api-docs as you might understand.

How can we pass requests from one page to another in electron, like do we do in html or php.
For Eg: In html or php, we can pass them like test.html?name=jaydev
I want this in my electron app.
For example, i am loading index page in the main window using
mainWindow.loadURL('file://' + __dirname + '/index.html');
Then i load machines.html in the same main window using
mainWindow.loadURL('file://' + __dirname + '/machines.html');
Now how can i pass some requests from index.html to machines.html?
Can any suggest a solution for this? Any help will be appreciated.
I use that convention for passing values to an iFrame loading within Electron – I don't know if it will work in your case, The script below is called when the page has loaded. It gets params which were passed to the src of the iFrame:
video.html?videoSrc=clark-8.mp4&poster=clark-8.png
I don't know what you are trying to do or what data you are trying to pass between webcontent – but it seems like there are a variety of ways to go about it.
Pass the data back to the main process and have the new webcontent request it - or push it to the new webcontent once it has loaded.
Use cookies and local storage
<script>
function getParamValue(paramName) {
var url = window.location.search.substring(1);
var qArray = url.split('&');
for (var i = 0; i < qArray.length; i++) {
var pArr = qArray[i].split('=');
if (pArr[0] == paramName)
return pArr[1];
}
}
// grap the video & poster frame refs from url
var videoSrc = getParamValue('videoSrc');
videoSrc = "assets/videos/" + videoSrc;
var poster = getParamValue('poster');
poster = "assets/images/" + poster;
videojs("videoPlayer", {}, function () {
this.src(videoSrc);
this.poster(poster);
this.load();
});
</script>
I'm shortening my "news" page's long URLs by using this code.
var api_key = 'AIzaSyCNGB0ddmvRkn5h************';
var docURL = document.URL;
function makeRequest() {
var request = gapi.client.urlshortener.url.insert({
'resource': {'longUrl': docURL}
});
request.execute(function(response) {
var newItem = {
url : response.id
}
$(".googlURL").html($("#shareButtons").tmpl({url : response.id , title : $('.newsDetail h3').text()));
});
}
function load() {
gapi.client.setApiKey(api_key);
gapi.client.load('urlshortener', 'v1', makeRequest);
}
this code creates goo.gl URL perfectly.
When someone visit the news details, it creates a shorten url automatically even any url is not created before.
But i would like to see the URLs in my goo.gl panel.
When i visit http://goo.gl/ with my account, i can not see how many URLs created and how many times they visited.
Is there a way to do this?
Thanks
I have found a solution as below about your question. May be that can help you
If you have already created a shortened goo.gl url just type .info at
the end (e.g. goo.gl/url.info)
I recently started learning firefox addon development using Addon-SDK.
I created a simple addon which displays the current webpages URL, but I'm not getting the results.
Here's my main.js file
var widgets = require("sdk/widget");
var tabs = require("sdk/tabs");
var data = require("sdk/self").data;
var showipWidget = widgets.Widget({
id : "show-ip",
label : "Display IP Address of current Page",
contentURL : data.url("lens_icon.png"),
contentScriptURL : data.url("click_handler.js"),
/*onClick : function() {
var curtab = tabs.activeTab;
console.log(curtab.url+" is Opened in Browser.");
}*/
});
And The ContentScript click_handler.js
document.write(document.URL);
However when I use onClick event (commented code above) the URL is logged in console.
I think I'm accessing document object in wrong way. Can anyone show me how to do it right way.
That's weird that should work.
But try putting this in your content script:
var check = self.port.on("check", function() {
var location = window.location.href;
alert(location + " is opened in browser");
}
then emit that check function.
Figured out my problem. It was a silly mistake, I used contentScriptURL which is wrong. The correct term is contentScriptFile. I mixed content and contentURL with contentScript.
Reference from firefox:
http://tinypic.com/r/34447mc/8
I am creating a firefox addon using the SDK. My goal is simple, to intercept a specific iframe and load my own HTML page (packaged as a resource with my addon) instead of the content that was requested originally.
So far I have the following code:
var httpRequestObserver =
{
observe: function(subject, topic, data)
{
var httpChannel, requestURL;
if (topic == "http-on-modify-request") {
httpChannel = subject.QueryInterface(Ci.nsIHttpChannel);
requestURL = httpChannel.URI.spec;
var newRequestURL, i;
if (/someurl/.test(requestURL)) {
var ioService = Cc["#mozilla.org/network/io-service;1"].getService(Ci.nsIIOService);
httpChannel.redirectTo(ioService.newURI(self.data.url('pages/test.html'), undefined, undefined));
}
return;
}
}
};
var observerService = Cc["#mozilla.org/observer-service;1"].getService(Ci.nsIObserverService);
observerService.addObserver(httpRequestObserver, "http-on-modify-request", false);
This code works in that it detects the proper iframe loading and does the redirect correctly. However, I get the following error:
Security Error: Content at http://url.com may not load or link to
jar:file:///.../pages/test.html.
How can I get around this limitation?
actually man i was really over thinking this.
its already solved when I changed to using loadContext. Now when you get loadContext you get the contentWindow of whatever browser element (tab browser, or frame or iframe) and then just abort the http request like you are doing and then loadContext.associatedWindow.document.location = self.data('pages/tests.html');
done
ill paste the code here removing all the private stuff. you might need the chrome.manifest ill test it out and paste the code back here
Cu.import('resource://gre/modules/Services.jsm');
var httpRequestObserver = {
observe: function (subject, topic, data) {
var httpChannel, requestURL;
if (topic == "http-on-modify-request") {
httpChannel = subject.QueryInterface(Ci.nsIHttpChannel);
requestURL = httpChannel.URI.spec;
var newRequestURL, i;
if (/someurl/.test(requestURL)) {
var goodies = loadContextGoodies(httpChannel);
if (goodies) {
httpChannel.cancel(Cr.NS_BINDING_ABORTED);
goodies.contentWindow.location = self.data.url('pages/test.html');
} else {
//dont do anything as there is no contentWindow associated with the httpChannel, liekly a google ad is loading or some ajax call or something, so this is not an error
}
}
return;
}
}
};
Services.obs.addObserver(httpRequestObserver, "http-on-modify-request", false);
//this function gets the contentWindow and other good stuff from loadContext of httpChannel
function loadContextGoodies(httpChannel) {
//httpChannel must be the subject of http-on-modify-request QI'ed to nsiHTTPChannel as is done on line 8 "httpChannel = subject.QueryInterface(Ci.nsIHttpChannel);"
//start loadContext stuff
var loadContext;
try {
var interfaceRequestor = httpChannel.notificationCallbacks.QueryInterface(Ci.nsIInterfaceRequestor);
//var DOMWindow = interfaceRequestor.getInterface(Components.interfaces.nsIDOMWindow); //not to be done anymore because: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Updating_extensions_for_Firefox_3.5#Getting_a_load_context_from_a_request //instead do the loadContext stuff below
try {
loadContext = interfaceRequestor.getInterface(Ci.nsILoadContext);
} catch (ex) {
try {
loadContext = subject.loadGroup.notificationCallbacks.getInterface(Ci.nsILoadContext);
} catch (ex2) {}
}
} catch (ex0) {}
if (!loadContext) {
//no load context so dont do anything although you can run this, which is your old code
//this probably means that its loading an ajax call or like a google ad thing
return null;
} else {
var contentWindow = loadContext.associatedWindow;
if (!contentWindow) {
//this channel does not have a window, its probably loading a resource
//this probably means that its loading an ajax call or like a google ad thing
return null;
} else {
var aDOMWindow = contentWindow.top.QueryInterface(Ci.nsIInterfaceRequestor)
.getInterface(Ci.nsIWebNavigation)
.QueryInterface(Ci.nsIDocShellTreeItem)
.rootTreeItem
.QueryInterface(Ci.nsIInterfaceRequestor)
.getInterface(Ci.nsIDOMWindow);
var gBrowser = aDOMWindow.gBrowser;
var aTab = gBrowser._getTabForContentWindow(contentWindow.top); //this is the clickable tab xul element, the one found in the tab strip of the firefox window, aTab.linkedBrowser is same as browser var above //can stylize tab like aTab.style.backgroundColor = 'blue'; //can stylize the tab like aTab.style.fontColor = 'red';
var browser = aTab.linkedBrowser; //this is the browser within the tab //this is where the example in the previous section ends
return {
aDOMWindow: aDOMWindow,
gBrowser: gBrowser,
aTab: aTab,
browser: browser,
contentWindow: contentWindow
};
}
}
//end loadContext stuff
}
NOTE: Now try this first, I didn't test it yet, if you get a security error when it tries to redirect then create a chrome.manifest file and put it in the root directory. If it throws a security error than you definitely need a chrome.manifest file and that will without question fix it up. I'll test this myself later tonight when I get some time.
The chrome.manifest should look like this:
content kaboom-data ./resources/kaboom/data/ contentaccessible=yes
Then in the code way above change the redirect line from goodies.contentWindow.location = self.data.url('pages/test.html'); to goodies.contentWindow.location = 'chrome://kaboom-data/pages/test.html');.
see this addon here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ghforkable/?src=search
in the chrome.manifest file we set the contentaccessible parameter to yes
you dont need sdk for this addon. its so simple, just ocpy paste that into a bootstrap skeleton as seen here:
Bootstrap With Some Features, Like chrome.manifest which you will need
Bootstrap Ultra Basic
if you want to really do a redirect of a page to your site, maybe you want to make a custom about page? if you would like ill throw togather a demo for you on making a custom about page. you can see a bit hard to understand demo here

CONCLUSION
in both trials above it was the weirdest thing, it wouldnt show the resource or chrome path in the security error thrown but it would give the full jar path. Leading me to believe that this has something to do with redirectTo function.
The solution that did work was your solution of
var gBrowser = utils.getMostRecentBrowserWindow().gBrowser;
var domWin = httpChannel.notificationCallbacks.getInterface(Ci.nsIDOMWindow);
var browser = gBrowser.getBrowserForDocument(domWin.document);
//redirect
browser.loadURI(self.data.url('pages/test.html'));
however I changed this to use loadContext instead of this method because it is the recommended way. also gBrowser to getMostRecentBrowserWindow will fail if the url load is slow and in that time the user swithces to another tab or window
I also changed to use Services.jsm as you had imported Cu anyways. Using Services.jsm is super fast not even blink fast. Its just a pointer.
Im still working on trying to the redirectTo method working its really bothering me. The changes I made are to my local copy.
Have you considered turning your local HTML file into a data URL and loading that?
I get a bunch of different URL from my sources and what I would like is to redirect to the same URL, but with campaign data added to URL (to track the referred clicks).
For example I have these URLs:
www.example.com/category/product/name.html
www.example.com/id_product=5
I want to add at the end the following: utm_source=SOURCE&utm_medium=MEDIUM&utm_campaign=CAMPAIGN
And the URLs to become
www.example.com/category/product/name.html?utm_source=SOURCE&utm_medium=MEDIUM&utm_campaign=CAMPAIGN
www.example.com/id_product=5&utm_source=SOURCE&utm_medium=MEDIUM&utm_campaign=CAMPAIGN
How to I correctly check and cover all the cases if a URL string has parameters, and add mine?
I want to do it in node.js
Thank you
Elaborating on #snkashis, a similar but arguably more elegant solution, again using node's url module, is:
var addQueryParams = function (cleanUrl) {
var obj = url.parse(cleanUrl, true, false);
obj.query['utm_source'] = 'SOURCE';
obj.query['utm_medium'] = 'MEDIUM';
obj.query['utm_campaign'] = 'CAMPAIGN';
delete obj.search; // this makes format compose the search string out of the query object
var trackedUrl = url.format(obj);
return trackedUrl;
};
This works, because url.format first looks for search and, if it can't find it, it composes the query string from the query object
(taken from node url module documentation http://nodejs.org/api/url.html#url_url_format_urlobj )
search will be used in place of query
query (object; see querystring) will only be used if search is absent.
Here is a example showing different scenarios using Node's URL module.
var url = require('url');
var exurls = ["www.example.com/category/product/name.html","www.example.com/id_product=5?hasparam=yes"]
var to_append = "utm_source=SOURCE&utm_medium=MEDIUM&utm_campaign=CAMPAIGN";
for (i=0;i<exurls.length;i++) {
var parsedobj = url.parse(exurls[i],true,false);
//Below checks if param obj is empty.
if (Object.keys(parsedobj.query).length!==0) {
var newpath = parsedobj.href+"&"+to_append;
}
else {
var newpath = parsedobj.href+"?"+to_append;
}
console.log(newpath);
}
Connect will help you:
var connect = require('connect');
var app = connect();
app.use(connect.query());
app.use(function (req, res, next) {
console.log(req.query);
res.end(JSON.stringify(req.query));
});
app.listen(3000);
