Is there something like UITextView for Apple Watch? - ios

I need to display quite a bit of text and the only option I see is WKLabel. There are only about three screens worth of text so it isn't too big. How can this be accomplished?

If you use a WKInterfaceLabel set the lines property to '0' and set the height to Size To Fit Content in your storyboard.

You need to use WKLabel.
If you want your user to write something, use presentTextInputControllerWithSuggestions.

Text and labels from Apple Documentation
WatchKit provides a standard modal interface for retrieving text input from the user. When presented, the interface allows the user to enter text via dictation or to select from a standard set of phrases or emoji.

How to set a custom keyboard for UIWebView

How to show a custom keyboard and Input Accessory View for a editable UIWebView for iOS7 and up.
i.e: How can i set and make use a value from [UIWebView setInputView:] and [UIWebView setInputAccessoryView:]
It would be helpful to understand what you're trying to do? You can either be trying to force a specific type of keyboard such as numeric, email, etc. that will use the keyboard the user has explicitly installed on their device (or the system one).
In order to do this, you can reference this apple doc which shows you the 'type' attribute to add to an tag.
Otherwise you are asking about loading a custom keyboard that you have created from the webview. The app developer in me screams, "you should NEVER do this." If you're content is generic enough to merit putting into a webview, than it is certainly not worth loading a custom keyboard.
If you realllly need to do this, you can set keyboardDisplayRequiresUserAction to NO, then use custom javascript to request the app to perform a native function, then drop a uitextfield or uitextview directly overtop the html input field and set a custom input view on the native control. There are an obscene amount of problems with following this approach, and I sincerely hope you
Are you trying to customize the ios keyboard or you want to show an HTML keyboard?
In the first case you can look at this link: link
In the second case you can just google for it, this is the first result searching for "html keyboard".
Good luck
I believe there is no way to do this as of now. Hence, my current approach is to use a custom view below the keyboard and hide the keyboard and show the keyboard as required.

Editing keyboard layout in iOS

Is there a possibility to change the button layout on a pre-made ios keyboard?
I would like to add "done" and "punctuation" buttons to numeric keyboard.
There is the Decimal Pad available but in this case i would have to add a custom done button at the top.
Is there a way to move the "delete" button to the right and make it half of its current width, put next to it the "decimal" button and on the former place of "delete" locate "done"?
No, you'll have to implement your own keyboard, if you duplicate the Apple one it will get rejected.
iOS does not support making those types of changes to the keyboard, the only thing you can do is change the text associated with the Done/Enter button by changing the UIReturnKeyType of the associated UITextField.
You can make a View With the buttons you want and set the inputView to the custom view you made ,, and you got a custom keyboard :D
You cannot directly modify the keyboard other than by choosing one of apple's presets. However, it is possible to add additional keys above it using -inputAccessoryView, like WolframAlpha has done in its app.
It looks like you can replace the keyboard entirely, but the accesory view is probably the way to go. See the answer to Adding key to IPad keyboard
EDIT: For an example of how this would look, check out WolframAlpha's blog post on the subject. In your case the accessory view probably won't be quite so tall

Is it possible to 'hyperlink' text within a UILabel/TextView but activate a segue on tap of this 'hyperlink'?

I say 'hyperlink' because I don't know what else to call it, and that is how i'd like it to appear.
Obviously this is possible using a combination of labels and buttons, but my labels and buttons are programmatically generated and I imagine i'd have to also programmatically arrange them, which would likely be tedious and inflexible in terms of changing font sizes etc.
Any ideas/approaches would be much appreciated!
As an example, look at Instagram's following and news feed:
You should set userInteractionEnabled and then add a UITapGestureRecognizer to the label.
Have a look at Nimbus Attributed Label it can provide the functionality you are looking for.

iOS Format Background

I am creating a simple quote app as a learning experience and need to format it to look better.
I am trying to make the background have a "white square" where the text is and make the text black. Just like the Twitter app has when you click on a tweet.
What is the best way to do this and what should I start with?
I know it is very simple, I'm only 15 and am trying to learn iOS. As you can see I have a server and have the app up and running, just want to format before I call it complete. Thanks! :)

This will depend on how you created the label that displays your text, but you can do this very easily:
If you created your UI in a Storyboard / XIB file in XCode: assuming you dragged out a UILabel or UITextView, you can use the Attributes Inspector to set the text color and the background color (in the View section) of the element holding the text.
If you created the label (or text view) in code, you can set the textColor property and the backgroundColor properties programmatically.

Is it possible to customize a text field , in iOS?

i am in need to use a text field in my application but the ones provided by XCode are only 1 line long and you can only change the width but not the hight.
I was wondering if its possible to make it look more lines long?
Is it only possible with customization and if yes any good tutorials?
Thank you!
First off, you can actually change the height of a UITextField. Just change the border style in the Attributes Inspector to anything except the default "rounded corners". You can then resize it right in Interface Builder. If you really wanted to, you could even change it back in your viewDidLoad method like this:
self.myTextField.borderStyle = UITextBorderStyleRoundedRect;
However, to have multiple lines, you have to use a UITextView. It's by default multi-line, but see the Apple documentation for more information.
You can use a UITextView. The document about it here. If you need something else, please post an image of what you want to achieve.
