Luarocks error building luafilesystem - lua

I'm using Luarocks 2.2.0beta1 to install luafilesystem on windows 7 with lua 5.2 and mingw. I got this error:
>luarocks install luafilesystem

note: until now, I have no problem installing other module with luarocks that have no dependency with luafilesystem.

Solved, this problem arise because actually I'm not using the same MinGW compiler when building lua52.dll. I don't know which compiler I use at the first time. Thanks to #siffiejoe

How to install llvm#13 with Homerew on macOS High Sierra 10.13.6? Got "Built target lldELF" error

Although High Sierra is no longer supported by Homebrew, but I need to install llvm#13 formula as a dependency for other formulas. So I tried to install it this way:

Install llvm with debug mode enabled:
$ brew install --debug llvm

It gives a shell access to the current build directory of llvm formula. Find the current folder:

Change the location to the build directory:

Edit the HostInfoMacOSX.mm and remove the second part of condition:

Regarding the LLVM-related variable, setting LLVM_CREATE_XCODE_TOOLCHAIN to On directs CMake to generate a target named 'install-xcode-toolchain'. 1 The target is a work-around to System Integrity Protection (SIP); "Xcode toolchains are a mostly-undocumented feature that allows multiple copies of low level tools to be installed to different locations, and users can easily switch between them." 2
Brew's Caveats
Brew gives you few caveats necessary to use the new compiler: "because macOS already provides this software and installing another version in parallel can cause all kinds of trouble." To use your new compiler, "You need to have llvm first in your PATH and for compilers to find llvm you may need to set" LDFLAGS and CDFLAGS. But since these gems-of-wisdom appear near the end of a million-lines of output, let me re-iterate here:

It looks like you are missing the postgresql-libs package. Install it using your systems package manager.
For me I needed to install libpq-dev. You can install it on linux like this:
sudo apt install libpq-dev

ld cannot find OCCI libraries even if they exist in LD_LIBRARY_PATH

I am just doing some simple OCCI thing, however it compiles a bit strangely

Oracle VM: Centos7 64bit on Windows 8 64bit
gcc-c++.x86_64
Simply installed Oracle XE by double clicking the rpm (download pages says
linux 64bit)

I have tried adding -L/u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/xe/lib/, it successfully compiles however running the program will cause it silently crashes / blocks at the simple line

Does anyone know some part I did wrong? or are the two issues related?
And by the way, it USED to work like 5 hours ago, when it suddenly stopped working I reinstalled the whole VM and now it still doesn't work.

Your command is incorrect (and the linker is right to complain). You need to tell the linker where to find the library, and you do that with -L flag:
ORACLE=/u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/xe
g++ -I ${ORACLE}/rdbms/public -L ${ORACLE}/lib a.cpp -lnnz11 -lclntsh -locci
(Note that your placement of source after library is also incorrect, and I fixed it above. Placement of libraries and sources on link command line matters.)

Mqtt: How to install mosquitto old version

I have installed mosquitto using the command apt-get install mosquitto. It is installed successfully on my system, but I got version "1.4.5". I want to downgrade to version 1.4.4, so I was trying using the source tar file. Under folder, I am running the command make and it is throwing an error:

You're missing dependencies needed for compilation.
Try:
apt-get install libc-ares-dev libssl-dev libwrap0-dev uthash-dev uuid-dev
If you want libwebsockets support you can either install libwebsockets-dev, or better install it manually from source - that will get you version 1.5 instead of the old 1.2 that is in Debian/Ubuntu.
If you install the manually compiled version with
make prefix=/usr install
then it will overwrite the existing binary and you can use it with the existing system services.

Unable to install GDAL in python 3 using pip (clang failed with exit status 1)

After running sudo pip3.4 install gdal from terminal (Mac OS X Mavericks) I obtain an error message saying that the 'col_port.h' file was not found and displaying the following error: command '/user/bin/clang/ failed with exit status 1 (the full message is below).
I have gdal 1.11 (the complete framework version downloaded from kingchaos.com) and the most recent version of the Xcode command line tools -Apple LLVM version 5.1 (clang-503.0.40) (based on LLVM 3.4svn)

The solution was to use homebrew and, after that, run pip3.4
brew install GDAL
and, once installed,
pip3.4 install gdal
Had this problem today. Installed GDAL with brew and it failed with pip3. The solution was to make sure that the version you try to install with pip is the same as homebrew has installed.
So first install gdal with homebrew using
brew install gdal
You should be able to see the version that is being installed during installation. If you have already installed gdal before you can check the version with:
brew info gdal
For me this showed that the version of gdal brew installed for me was: 2.4.4
So then you can install the correct version with pip using
pip3 install gdal==2.4.4
This finally worked for me.
